  1. Ill have to check it in the morning.Im gonna go ahead and double check the bowls as well just to make sure somehow they are not swapped. Also When I turn on the choke It almost sounds like an air leak. When I turn the choke off the noise goes away.. I have the crossover tube inbetween the carbs its in good shape and fits nice and tight still. My other shee doesnt make the noise when the chokes on do they sell the oring for the choke or do I have to buy the whole assembly?
  2. The one with the jet in the bowl is on the left currently.. is that correct?
  3. Ive owned them for 10 years so I know how to start them. im just wandering why its more stubborn than the other shee.
  4. U think i should try a larger slow jet? Im not sure which jet I should be tinkering with. We have another shee the same year bone stock as well same jetting and it starts one kick always
  5. Currently in running a 200 main / 25 slow jet. Its stock downto the airfilter.. lol
  6. Just checked and my airmix screws are 2 turns out..
  7. I have a 98 banshee thats bone stock and its hard to get it started when its been sitting overnight or for a few days..once it starts it runs excellent and starts up easily the rest of the day.. Both cylinders read 125 psi. I still have the tors assembly on the carbs but I've Illiminated the brain so its disabled.. Im running motul 800 40:1 stock jetting with 91 octane (best I can buy at the pump in my area) I have the airmix screws 1-3/4 out. I did a leakdown test and have no leaks and the intake boots are in good shape. Tried new sparkplugs with proper gap.. I cleaned my carbs and soaked them in carb solvent for an hour.. Any suggestions?
  8. Ok i checked the slides they were in correct.. checked the pickup coil gap. It was off by a bit so I set it to .018. Still no luck.. After that I removed the stator from my other shee and tried that.. still misfiring..
  9. I also removed the flywheel to see if there was any rust or debree on the stator or flywheel and both looked like brand new still.. I didn't think of checking the gap on the pickup coil at the time.. At one point when messing with it. the opposite cylinder cut out and the left side was firing.. almost seems like its coil going out but I tried the coil from my other shee that runs great so I figure that couldnt be it.. its got a brand new petcock on it.. I flushed the tank as well.. im gonna check the hose and T that distribute the gas to the carbs. possibly the one sides restricted?
  10. I installed new spark plug boots as well as tried the coil & cdi from my other running banshee.. also tried swapping the slides. didnt make much difference. Is there a way to tell which slide belongs in which carb? Ill check the pickup coil gap tommarro.
  11. I have 2 1998 Yamaha banshees both are completely stock I've been having problems with one of them. They've both been sitting since last season I pulled both out and cleaned the carbs on both bikes.. the one runs great.. the other one will start right up idle nice.. after 20-30 seconds the left side cylinder cuts out and the exhaust stops smoking on that side.. if I turn the killswitch off the back on before it dies the left side starts firing again.. I tried cleaning the carbs once again and soaking them in carb solution for 2-3 hoursnI tried the cdi and coil from my other bike as well as new spark plugs.. I also went ahead and installed fresh reeds. None of this helped.. i checked for any loose connections or splits in the wires and found nothing.. I sprayed all my electrical connectors with electrical cleaner.. Ive tried all that I can think of.. any suggestions?? TORS system is removed from the bike.. bike has 125 psi on both cylinders...
  12. oh.. ok. do u know of any links that i can use to make one? will the tester screw into both spark plug holes?
  13. at this point Im almost gonna just put it back to the 290's or even try 300's and put my regular carbon reeds in.. Im fed up! ive had the carbs off over 10 times this week!! Ive checked the floatbowl level its right on...
  14. how do i test it in that area? just take off the stator cover? And the other side has the clutch.. A leak down test is when You spray water in the affected area when it running??? Just asking I hard myy friend use this term and thats how he described it...
