  1. All amazing news! So I wont have to split the cases again? I just redid the crank for my first engine build, I did not want to pull the engine and split them again if Ididnt have to.
  2. Not sure why its leaking, but it seems to be coming from in behind the sprocket at the seal? Not to much to be read in the manual about this area, so anyone know what Im looking at before I take her apart? Id like to have any parts that I need here ready for the split if I need it.
  3. A buddy just bought a $12000 KTM 450, and they tol;d him right up front that it will need a new top end every 40 - 60 hours at the dealership
  4. Nobody?
  5. Thanks Dave, Looking for just fronts, as shipping to L1N1B2 is killer! Anyone got that hydraulic clutch setup, the other guy who responded, never emailed me?
  6. Ive said it before, and Ill say it again, the boost bottle does have a use, other than bong related. When its time for a rebuild, shove it under the motor right beside bolt # 1, and it'll hold your motor right at the correct angle and height for you to start wrenchin!
  7. If you shop right, and arent in a hurry, you can save some dollars shopping on ebay. I rebuilt my motor over the past 2 months using some used stuff, and new as well. I did it for less than $1000, and got a vitos crank, new ported cylinders, vitos cool head and a few other trick items as well as the crank seals bearings and gaskets.
  8. Why dont we work out a trade for my extra desert tank that you had your eyes on earlier this year? It would also allow me to rid my machine of the K&N crap thats on there now!!
  9. Well I know they are between $60 -$200 dependiing on the maker, so let me know what type it is and what kinda shape and we'll see? Sendme some pics to [email protected] too if thats ok?
  10. I am looking for black cut front plastics, as well as a hydraulic clutch setup.
  11. Just tried to look and the ads been removed?
  12. Its going to be way easier to call them up and order a new motor for sure, but to truly appreciate your bike, and to save $, buy a manual (CLYMER) and build your motor your self. If you are at least somewhat technical, it will guide you thru it. I just built my motor using the book, and Im no mechanic. You can buy from the for sale section, and use the forum if you get stuck. This is the place to be to complete an engine for yourself. I built my motor with good aftermarket parts, including new cylinders for less than $1000, and what I learned along the way will help me out if anything ever goes wrong. Just my $.02!
  13. Get those cylinders back from Jeff yet? I got mine together last week and it was all worth it. Good luck with the build!
  14. Ill post pics, as soon as it looks pretty again. Its running thats the main thing. DUNNY thats your vitos hemi head on it! Thanks for the smokin deal!
  15. I have a white desert tank and a set of white cut front fenders that Id like to trade for a set of plastics for the front and something else, (colour doesnt matter cause Im painting them black.)
  16. Thank you firebanshee for a couple of months ago taking the time to follow up with me and answer my questions about my port job. After riding it tonight for the first time, and having to take it easy for break in. I cant wait to be able to open it up. It made it all worth while tonight when I cleaned up the carbs, and it started on the second kick . Idled perfectly!

    WTB Axle

Looking for a stock length or +2 axle, preferably not a stock one, something aftermarket.
  18. I have a set of Kenda Claws, pretty much brand new, only been ridden in the snow. They are 23 x 11 x 10,6 plys, and are presently mounted on Red label Douglas rims. Id like to trade for a set of 20x11x10 holeshots or razors in good condition too, tires alone, or on aluminum rims
  19. Well it seems like I have found a really great use for all of those of you who have a boost bottle kickin around. If you are blessed enough to have to endure a rebuild, place the boost bottle squarely on the table, and place the lower case, using bolt #1 from the lower cases on top of it (sorta hook it behind it) youll find that it holds the motor at exactly the right angle for rebuilding. See, and its cheaper than an engine stand!
  20. Ok guys, thanks to your suggestions, Weve figured it out. Actually it was one of the first posts that I tried. The kicker gear had given me trouble during assembly, and it was the bushing which had prevented the gear from being able to mesh correctly, therefore seeming seized. I got it running tonight and started the break in of the motor. Thanks to all who helped on this, it feels great to accomplish my first new motor.
  21. First Pete, what does it mean if it revs up without throttle? Secondly, Highrider, did I see that you are running 87 octane? I think thats too low, change that before you need a new set of pistons!
  22. I was in the exact same position as you before, when I sold my 1st banshee. I knew from the day after I signed the bill of sale that I had made a mistake. Now I am building a new one. I bought it for 1800 cdn, and if I didnt screw up on the rebuild that I did, Id be riding it tomorrow! Look on here in the sales forums, and on ebay for guys with good reps for parts if you need to do it on a budget. Welcome to the site, this is your one stop shop for advice and parts!

  24. Well now that I feel even more retarded than I did before, lets get back to the topic at hand! The parts are the issue for me. I have to wait longer than normal for them as they cross the border, and the govt takes their slice. I did have the kicker get stuck down as I kicked it over one of the times, but I thought nothing of it, as it released easily. Do you guys think that this has had something to do with it? Im taking it apart over the weekend.
