  1. I am looking for a complete set of 66mm pistons, rings, bearings clips etc..... Must be able to ship them ASAP, preferably overnight to L1N1B2 Canada, I dont mind paying an overnight shipping charge, if you are willing to do it. Ill pay paypal right away. Must also be forged, rather than cast. Alfie, has offered me a cuople of options, but I want to see if anyone else has any options first. If you want, you can email me at [email protected], or pm me here.
  2. Hey Tyler, thanks for the chime. More than anything, I just wanted to make sure it wasnt going to fry something electrically by splicing the wires together, if that was the avenue of choice. My buddy just had a pretty major electrical issue popup after he wired in his toggle switch, so I was just making sure.
  3. SOOOOOOOOO, still for sale?
  4. Beautiful guys, thanks for the advice, that'll save me some dough and time!
  5. so cut the wires going to the existing key switch, and heat tube them together and it will be OK?
  6. dont take it personally, he and baker just finished 3 rounds themselves!
  7. Im awaiting a response from my honing guy, who is gonna give me the correct size of kit I need tomorrow, email me at [email protected] if they are still there tomorrow, and Ill have the answer hopefully. I can pay for them right away if they are the right size, and as long as you can ship them to canada (L1N1B2) the same day?
  8. do a search for alf44, ask him for the correct answer, hes spoken to me about it before
  9. My buddies just rebuilding his 06 ltr 450 top end, and its costing him around $3000, maybe more, ask alf, hes supplied the parts, on the other hand, Im rebuilding my shee, and for the topend your looking at around $500, even if you do it every year, you do the math!
  10. So Im in the home depot with my wife after coming home from the cottage, and the bike was in the back of the truck. When I got it home I noticed that the key was missing from the ignition. Some piece of shit must have needed it more than me I guess! Luckily, it was stolen in a town other than mine, so I know hes not coming back for the rest of it. Now Im wondering if this is a major issue, or if I can just buy another ignition switch and key, and replace it, or do I have to do more? If anyone has a spare ignition, Id love to buy it from you, let me know!
  11. OK, since thats the case, can someone post a picture of it the correct way, so I can buy the right piece? I noticed it was an issue when we unloaded the machine from the truck and when it was vertical, it leaked oil all over the top of the cases.
  12. Got my new airbox and filters in perfect condition, then again, I knew I would LOL! Great transaction, thanks again
  13. X2, Im using hondabond4, just cause I have no yamaha dealer close by.
  14. Theres a hole in the upper case, right in front of bolt #16, is something supposed to be in there or what? I cant find it in my manual?
  15. pm sent
  16. Its doubtful that a cable thats listed by itself, without mentioning a twist throttle setup, will fit on the twist throttle. Regardless of who makes your twist setup, its a considerably longer cable than a thumb throttle cable. If its a Moose handle, then you should be sourcing thru moose for the cable, and they will be able to tell you the correct part number. I know because I bought a pro design twist, and tried using my stock cable, and it was way too short.
  17. I once bought a complete set of bolts from him for the shee, and I said I was replacing all the old shitty bolts that I came across with new ones, when I got the box, they were worse than the old shit I was taking off? Once again, shipping was attrocious!
  18. looking for an adjustable timing plate?let me know!
  19. Im looking to buy a pair of exhaust clamps that attach the two pipes together (ie the expansion chamber to the silencer), preferably in black or chrome.
  20. OK, Im going to try the shave, see how it works out!
  21. Hey AK, Im not really dissing the K&N, I think all 50cc bikes should use them, on asphalt, dry conditions, no dust, with 5 outerwears. LOL! I just found that it seemed to fit really loose with that slide in system, so, thanks to papasmurf, Ive upgraded to a proflow adapter, and dual prodesign foams. OK, 5 minutes was a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much. Im assuming that the wear on the piston came from exactly what you said, (ie the banging around of the pin), or from me fuckin around on the road at the pit, before I got to actually enter them. When it didnt run correctly, I took the carbs apart at the truck, and I think the bike probably swallowed some airborn dirt there. Im assuming that the bearing at this point has been stuck in the pipe, but I hadnt thought of it being magnetized? How would that have happened? The locator pins are all there, and yes the vitos does have it on both sides. Believe me, Ive been thru the parts, Im a very picky guy, and considering I had never rebuilt before, I followed the book, and the advice of the members here to a tee. Each part, as it was disassembled, was thoroughly cleaned, labelled, and put into a rubbermaid, then sealed until reassembly, so thats why I was so puzzled. The bike has run for 5-10 minutes on 20:1, never bringing it above 1/8 throttle, just tweaking it, like the manual said to, then checking the plugs out for colour. Then following the manual to a tee for the break in. The day at the track was supposed to be the first day out after the break in., so me saying 5 minutes of riding, actually meant normal riding, after break in, just up and down the road, it still hasnt seen soil.

    Seat

Looking for a nice seat, something with a lower profile than stock, preferably with a black, or black combo cover or even a black cover thats aftermarket?
  23. Yeah so I took the motor out tonight and split the cases ( if nothing else, Im getting good at that), and found no signs of any metal shards in the bottom end. The wrist pin bearings as stated before are all accounted for, as are the bearings from my previous pistons. The bike never blew up before, but a bunch of mods were done to it over the winter, as it had a slight case of detonation (I know all detonation is bad). The previous owner had the bike lean out on him when it was -30. He also caught it right before the crank bearing had a failure, so theyres some good news. I cannot for the life of me figure out where that little bitch has come from? Anyway, the cases are clean again, going back together again tomorrow, with a few more things added, and the cylinders are out being honed for safety, even though they were still smooth. I wanted to double check the hone size with the local shop, to ensure the right size pistons and rings were going to be installed, so we'll see what they say. Thanks guys for all your help. And no, I still havent ridden it, only started the break in! BOO HOO!
  24. Yeah, those scratches are from running a fuckin K&N shitpile filter. I have upgraded since then. The bike has 5 minutes on this topend, just to make it a lot worse! As for the size of the bearing, I was told by the canadian distributor for Vitos, the crank bearings are 5-6mm in diameter, and this (bearing?) is an exact match in size to one of the wrist pin needle bearings?
