  1. well dude ya it needs some work, but for 400 you didnt get hurt at all. i have the boots ya need to go from your carbs to your airbox, and a k&n filter im not using and some of the correct springs for your pipes if your gonna keep them stock ones on it, let me know if you want these parts, send me a pm and ill get back to ya with a price, im not out to make big bucks on this stuff either just cleaning up the garage a little. welcome to the hq what i found to be the best site on the net,lol
  2. yup, i got the same story i bought mine for 1100 it ran great when i got it home but that only lasted about 20 minuts and pooooof she blew up. i bought a new crank new pistons and cylinders and did it all my self, the top ends are simple but i was worried about doing the crank myself, but like it was said above a manual and the help of the hq you can do anything to your shee. just do it yourself and remember take your time, dont rush through it and u shouldnt have any problems. i might have 800 bucks into the new parts but in the long run i do have a brand new motor top to bottom and only got about 2000 into the quad, thats not bad at all if ya ask me. good luck man and do it yourself and ask questions here thats what we're here for oh ya if you still dont want to do it youself let me know ill do it for ya for 500 less than the stealership,lol

  4. ya post a pic, i'd do the same but im computer illiterate.lol i would probly trade ya cause i got a fox grill but its black and hard to see with the radiator behind it so if i put the red webbing behind it it would probly be more noticeable
  5. the cost is gonna depend on if it needs to be bored out or not, if not a piston kit is pretty cheap,1-200, as far as a first mod i'd look into a cool head and a set of pipes but if you've never owned a 2 stroke you will be impressed with the stock banshee. before you go worrying about mods you should definitly fix all the bad bearings, get it running good and get the chassis straight and tight then start your mods, but ill tell ya in advance once you start doing mods you wont stop! welcome to your new addiction
  6. well it sounds like you already know the bad about it,so just look for the good now, make sure the frame aint bent, boke, cracked or been repaired, check that the handlebars are straight if they are the stem is probly ok. check the front end out, try to wiggle the wheels around to check the wheelbearings,tierods,etc. does it have papers?the bad swingarm bearings arent that big of a deal, they are cheap and easy to fix, but also check the carrier bearings. the carbs are easy to clean, if ya do get it you should tear it down (do a compression test first) but if the compression is under 110 per side tear it down check the cylinders for wear and rebuild it now before it does blow up, most likely saving yourself money in the long run. if all checks out pretty good i dont think your getting hurt for 1000, shit i bought my 96 for 1100 it blew up the next day i put about 800 into it and got a sweet banshee for around 2000. good luck with it, post some pics if ya get it

  16. ya ive rebuilt a few motors and i will be doing the heat cycles, i dont know bout that get on it and rip it up,lol, just dont sound safe to me. the pilots wont make that much of a diff. will they?
  17. ive got an assload of jets so i should be ok, im not sure if i want to get rid of the pro circuts yet i will let ya know after i get her going, i might not use my fmf's cause the guy i got them from off ebay cut the stingers about 5 inches short and ran both pipes out the middle like the dmc exaughst, ill have to see what works better, of course he didnt tell me that b4 i bought them

  19. ok guys ive asked it before but now im gonna run a couple different mods so let me know what jet sizes you think i should use. im slappin together my new motor thursday or friday, its gonna go like this---- new wiseco crank, .040 over dune/trail ported cylinders, vitos power pistons, cool head with 22cc domes for now,might go with the 19s later, im gonna leave timing at stock for now probly go +4 after its broke in, fmf fattys with iether powercore 2 silencers or procircut silencers not sure yet im leaning towards the procircuts cause there in better shape right now i got 320 mains and stock pilots, toomy 2into1 airfilter, and of course the all famouse boost bottle(for that big power)lol. im in central ny dont know elevation but it will be between 35-40 degrees during breakin, what size jets do you guy recomend for this weather and for the summer time? thanks alot

  23. imo k&n=junk, more air=more dirt, dirt in carbs=not good, my shee came witha k&n i just bought a toomy 2into1 filter and ill swap my k&n for a outerware for the toomy kit
  24. i got a set of vitos power pistons, 40 over im gonna slap them into my ported cylinders and hope for the best. i was told by somebody on here that you have to change the port timing to use vitos pistons on ported cylinders
  25. is it a honda or suzuki? the hondas up here in ny still go for 2500-4000 the suzukis are around 1500 -2500 my brother sold his honda ia a million pieces for 1300 i sold my suzuki runnin but needed all plastic and tires for 600 just to get rid of it, suzuki sucks!
