  1. For most people, stage 2's are sufficient. If you do a lot of riding in different areas (ie, trails one weekend, dunes the next), maybe upgrade to something with compression adjustment (Stage 3's). If you only ride in one specific place, then just get the stage 1's or 2's. Stage 2's will be piggyback, with no compression/rebound adjustments. Stage 1's will be non reservoir, with no adjustments.
  2. The term "Dune Edition" is used loosely. Initially Dune Edition shocks were stage 3's, with compression and rebound adjustment. The "Dune Edition" kit from Elka has options of Stage 1-Stage 4 shocks. What stage "Dune Edition" shocks does that kit come with for $1300?
  3. This is more of a review of their customer service, than their actual product. I have never been a fan of billet, as I think for the most part it looks gaudy. I was looking for a set of brake/clutch levers for my 2003 CR250, and figured I'd call Mod Quad, knowing that Jeff @ FAST is a dealer, and see if they made anything that would work. Well, after them spending about 30 minutes on the phone with me, I never really found anything that I wanted. The guy I talked to was more than helpful, and I wish I could remember his name. Basically, I can't vouch for their product quality, as I've never owned anything of theirs, but I definitely will be hitting Jeff up if I decide to order any of the stuff we talked about. Customer service goes a long way with me, and they won my future business.
  4. x2 on the big socket/vice trick.
  5. Here's my suggestion: Leave your stock swingarm. You won't have any issues with the front end creeping up on you with 50hp. As far as paddles go. For your first time to the dunes, I would get a set of ITP Sand Stars. I've ridden on probably 5 different sets of paddles, and they were my favorite for all around riding. They turn extremely well, and hook up well enough to have moderate-good straight line performance.
  6. Why not? Everyone else does :jesterlaugh:
  7. Like, Propane and propane accessories Arlington?
  8. As much as I would like to believe that signing a petition would help, sadly it won't. With their target being set at a mere 5000, that wouldn't nearly be enough to have it put on the ballot. While I completely disagree with any closures, the tree huggers typically always win. Glamis is a perfect example, and unfortunately the PNW is littered with tree huggers, that have tons of money behind them.
  9. Probably about 90% of the people who run pod filters run in sand only. Ditch the airbox, buy a new set of k&n pods with outerwears, and call it a day.
  10. Everything above it true. Neither a Raptor shock, nor a YFZ450 shock will work on a banshee. Two different reasons. Newer Raptor shocks (as stated by ZillaFreak) have an offset reservoir, which will not clear the chain at full compression. The YFZ450 shocks use a "fork" type lower mount, and will not work at all for a Banshee, it won't even bolt up. Also, a stiffer spring will not raise your back end at all. All it will do is provide a stiffer ride. No one has touched on this yet, so I will: Raising the back of the bike is going to do NOTHING good for your quality of ride. Raising the center of gravity on an already top/front heavy bike, is going to shift a significant amount of weight to the front tires. You are going to notice all kinds of terrible bump steer, and the bike is going to have a mind of it's own, as far as steering stability goes. I'd recommend getting your rear shock set up specifically for you, your bike, and your riding type. At 200lbs, on a stock swing arm, you could use a heavier spring. Anything more than stock, and you DEFINITELY need a heavier spring.
  11. All of the above are true. Neither shock will work. Your only option for a longer shock in the rear is an aftermarket YFZ450 shock, which has a Banshee shaft/rod end assembly. Not including the price of the shock, the modification runs about $300-$400, depending on the brand of shock.
  12. Send a message to NYUK on here with what you're looking for. He will take care of you.
  13. LOL, Every time I see the title of this thread, I think he's asking for people to post the length of their schlongs.
  14. Done tons of business with John. I think everyone on here already knows he's the best source for used parts on here. Definitely the go to if you're looking for ANY parts.
  15. Please, for the love of Pete, learn to spell.
  16. Hopefully you have this in a week or two in case I need it. I've got a 500hp 454 going into my boat in the next week or so, and I'm not sure the 750 I've got on it will be enough.
  17. Or you could just buy a pair of boots. I've never ridden any of my bikes without boots. I'm amazed at how many people still do it, after reading all of these stories.
  18. Hm, Interesting. Anyways, Coupe. If you don't get a response from paypal soon, just send them to me. I'll take the hit here since the seller is unwilling to admit his mistakes. It's really a shame that this kind of stuff has to happen on the HQ. We're all a pretty tight knit community here, and when someone comes on here and tries to take advantage of unknowing people, it sucks. If you don't get your money back, send them to me, and I'll take care of you. It's obvious that the pictures don't match the description, but in the case of shocks, 95% of people have to take the sellers word for it. I felt like commenting on the "10 hours since last rebuild" in the description from the get-go, but figured someone else would. My mistake. Judging solely from the one picture of the shocks, the one on the right is clearly leaking, or has never been cleaned since it was serviced. The dead giveaway is the lower spring retainer. You can see the streaks where the oil ran down the hat. Conclusion: Send me the shocks if you don't get your money back, and I'll take care of you.
  19. But they don't even have their own league, do they? I would think a county that prides itself on being second place would have their own league, and not have to ride our coat tails... Again, kidding Canadians.... ...sort of, again...
  20. Although, imagine their frustration. The ONLY thing Canada has that they can be proud of, is Hockey, and they got demolished by a team of Yanks. I'd be pissed too when I realized the only leg I had to stand on, was just ripped out from underneath me. Relax Canadians, it was a joke... ...Sort of...
  21. I wish I would have seen this sooner... I've never heard of a shock that is set up for Stock, +2's AND +3 arms... Must be one of those new fandangled "Adapta-shocks"
  22. I'll take care of you, Homie. As soon as I saw that ad listed, I KNEW there was absolutely no way in humanity that those were rebuilt 10 hours ago. I guess ya live in learn. If you need anything in writing for PayPal, I can get you a quote on the cost of the one rebuild. Once I open them up, I can tell you pretty much for a fact, how old the oil is, and how old the seals are. If he flat out lied, PayPal should back you 100%.
  23. It's not him. It's jon321. Believe it or not, Skeeter is smarter than to make a name that is exactly the same, with an apostrophe at the end. Jon did the same shit when goonie got banned.
