  1. ....That might be a little bit of a problem. You're daughter would hate to push that thing around. Might be okay on downhills.
  2. Well, it's not a "Road" per-se. They call it "wash road". But it's essentially a wash. I usually camp at roadrunner, but it gets crazy out there. Supposedly they re-did wash road, I haven't been over there lately. Maybe one of the other glamis guys can advise? Here's how the washes work. They are numbered 1 through whatever, basically all the way to Mexico. They run RIGHT next to the railroad tracks. Literally 10 feet to the southwest. The train tracks are very dangerous if you're stupid. Don't try to cross them for any reason. You can go under them at wash 10. I am a big fan of wash 14. It's big (or at least was last time I camped in the washes), open, and far enough away from the highway that most idiots don't go out that far. The farther you go on wash road, the less it is maintained, but also there's less people that go out there. On a big weekend, it's not uncommon for people to be camped all the way to wash 25+. When you get all your stuff together post something on here. I'm sure there's plenty of us Glamis fans that would love you meet you guys out there and show you around. I know I would. I'm always looking for more bikes to ride with. I'm usually the only bike that goes in our groups. They're all married with little kids, so everyone sold their bikes and bought buggies. (Does that mean I'm getting old?)
  3. If they are the MR16 replacements with like 30 led's they aren't very bright, as well as the ones with a SINGLE lense. However if they are the ones with the 3 led's set up in a triangular shape like the one below, those ones vary in wattage usually from 3w total power, all the way up to 15w. 3 x 5w = 15w. They should fare pretty well with the vibration also. Let us know! post some pics if you can!
  4. Busy weekends are indeed crazy out there. Glamis is so vast that even on thanksgiving, we'd go from roadrunner to olds, and never run into another group the whole ride. If you don't congregate at the drags, or at olds you will have an awesome time. Here is a link with all of the coordinates. This is the most up to date map out right now. http://glamisinfo.com/picts2/maps/glamisgps.gif?view=article&article=73 West on the 78 approx 13 miles from Gecko Rd. is the city of Brawley. There are several Motels that are "name brand". They do fill up quickly on busy weekends. However this Thanksgiving there were quite a few vacancies so you shouldn't have a problem on an off weekend. Glamis is a party place... expect that when you get there. Lots of drinking, lots of idiots, and lots to look at. Hence the reason I go. I don't indulge in the drinking, but it's awesome to people watch. Maybe not for your 10 year old. =\ Season passes are $90, week passes are $25 purchased OFF SITE! I believe they are slightly higher when purchased at the dunes. YES you will need a pass. South of Glamis is an old federal bomb range. Seperating the bomb range is the canal. Unless you can ride across water, you'll have to camp on gecko, or in the washes. In either case BLM will be at both entrances checking passes IN, as well as on the way OUT. Save yourself the hassle, and just buy a week pass. Thanksgiving weekend the wind blew like crazy Friday night. There were NO tracks first ride Saturday morning. Take it from someone who rides there literally EVERY weekend during the season; when the wind blows at night, it's a beautiful thing to wake up to fresh dunes. No kidding if you expect to sit at the bottom of olds with 30,000 other people on thanksgiving weekend, there's going to be dust, there's going to be tracks... but just go ride the dunes. That's what you're there for! Another viable option is go to Gordon's Well. It's a little tamer, and more family friendly currently than Glamis. Good luck!
  5. Awesome punctuation in the above craigslist ad.
  6. I saw you at glamis on thanksgiving... I think... I saw a few of our 2005 se's out there... Anyways good luck with the sale!
  7. Gordon's seems to be the place to be nowadays. There's FEWER knuckleheads than glamis but still close enough to ride from Gordon's to the glamis store, re fuel, and ride back. I've done that ride a few times...
  8. I'll keep my eye out for you... definately can't miss that thing! This is what I'll be on, minus the PT pipes, with FMFs in place. I'll look for you at olds.
  9. Well, it was a few things. I like more midrange power since I'm not going to riding it real hard. I'll be mostly cruising the dunes with buggies. I won't be racing at all, that's for sure. I just like the shape of the FMF's better than the PT's. I'd have them re-chromed if I really likely the look of them. Like I said in my original post, I've ridden dirt bikes for ever, and this is my first quad I've ever owned. I've ridden plenty but never owned one. Health issues (and the wife) told me to sell the bike and get a quad. My buddy's got an 03 and he's having a set of bill's pipes chromed, and I'm going to take his FMF's.
  10. I've got this set off a banshee I just bought. Make an offer. I want these gone. Located in Temecula, CA. Will ship.
  11. Lids off. No holes in the intake. TORS are still there, but I won't be riding ANYWHERE near water. I'll primarily be riding in glamis... sand dunes. Elevation is 335ft. yes three hundred and thirty five. Daytime temps usually 70-80F, night time 40-50F. It's got 270's in there. Should be good, right? I don't have the time or place to do a plug chop.
  12. Who isn't? If they were mid's i'd be keeping them.
  13. Hi revs. I just pulled them off the bike, as you can see in the pictures, they are rusted, but the silencers are in decent shape. just some rust on the tips.
  14. So she's a little dirty after a trail ride this morning, but anyways, here they are.
  15. ...And the pipes/silencers of course.
  16. Just noticed that. The bike has no known health issues... I have plenty!
  17. I'll check the jetting today, and see what's in there. YES, I will be getting rid of the Paul Turners. They do have some rust of them, that's why I want to get rid of them. I'll take some pics today and post them, and you can make me an offer.
  18. I personally think they should double the rates, maybe even triple. If you really think about it. The reason glamis is starting to suck so bad is all the morons who decide to show up in their stock (insert 4wd suv here), put a whip on the roof and haul ass up and down gecko, or olds road, drunk off their ass and hit and kill someone's kid. Then when their done, leave all of their trash strewn all about the washes for someone else to clean up. I'd much prefer to pay more, and hope that those people won't show up. They should go somewhere else... like... ROCKotillo. It's free =)
  19. We'll be at the very end of gecko with a group of about 60. Mostly all buggies.
  20. I live in SoCal, and will be running at Glamis for Thanksgiving. I've been a dirt bike guy forever, and just bought this Banshee because I've had recent health issues, and figured 4 wheels would be better than two. I'm swapping out the Paul Turner pipes and silencers for FMF Fatty's and silencers. Pardon my ignorance as I learn, but is it necessary to re jet? It's all stock except for an air filter. Any help would be awesome, THANKS!
