Hmm alright so I'm having a problem as you can tell. I'm gonna try to tell you as much as i can about what happened so i bought this banshee blown up from a good friend he ran it too hard and completely blew the left side up. so i ripped it all apart all the parts looked like they were in awesome shape so i bought a new crank and i bought a whole new top end put it together and it ran perfect, started up first kick has great power and powerband and all that. so heres the problem; i went riding with the kid that i bought it from and i kind of noticed that the clutch was grabbing when i turned the handlebars to the left but I'm pretty sure that's just because the cable wasn't routed correctly. so about 1 hour 30 minutes in to riding i stopped and put it in first gear and tried to go but it died. so i start it back up and try to go again but every time i try to go the quad would die again. so after about three tries of trying first gear i just put it in second and went and it worked pretty good but then i tried dropping it into 1st and the rear tires locked up and the motor died and it skidded about 15 feet. after that i was sick of dealing with it and i loaded it up and took it home. the next morning i notice all the oil drained out underneath so i tear the bike down and took it apart. so when i go to look at the clutch i open the casing and there was gas mixed with the oil? the shift star looks fine and i thought the shift shaft looked fine but i think thats where its leaking out so I'm gonna check again so see if its bent. i looked at the clutch and everything looked fine they came apart good I'll check tomorrow to see if there in spec. tore apart the cases and looked at the trans every gear looks perfect except one and I'm not sure if its made like that or what? i would post pictures but i don't know how still .... but the gear has a small groove right in the middle and it it looks to be rounded off but not completely. i can shift it with my hand with the shift star but with it all together it wont go in that gear thats why i don't think its the transmission but you tell me what you think! so my question is how is it possible that gas got into my cases and what are your ideas as to why it wont shift into first or neutral. also does anybody have a picture of the smaller transmission; the gear all the way on the right (from behind the motor)

well i have a 2in one ported stage iv from trinity and i'm running a k@n with outerwear but i'm still afraid its gonna get in there. maybe i'm being too precautions....

welp Ive been thinking a lot about my banshee today. i recently started my new banshee build a few months ago and i'm almost done and had a thought about building a custom air box out of a sheet of aluminum since i have a stock one and thats just not gonna cut it : ) has anyone done this? Ive done searches and i cant find anything on it, i know it would add a lot more power but i don't wanna run no air box in the sand and my brain is having a problem trying to think of a good way to keep the majority of the sand out any wild ideas? p.s i have lots of pictures of the build but i have no idea how to put them up?

yea i rode my friends that has alittle over 70hp and its just not gonna cut it does anyone know how to tell the difference between stroker cranks and stock length without measuring them?

ok the guy said there around 65.5 so i might just go bigger and go with a big bore or something like that but what do you guys think about part setup to get to 90hp?

well I'm off to get my cylinders measured right now to check out the size and see what needs to be done. i think the set up im gonna go with is vforce3's with cpi's 2in1 stage IV ported intake open air box with k&n filters cool head/20cc pump gas advanced timing ( i don't know how much yet) w/ stroker cranks(hopefully) if its got strokers im probably gonna have it bored to a 421, the suspension thats on the bike (finding out today) and a few more things, comment and tell me your imput and if i missed something?! vifferman thanks for the comment ill try to post some nice pictures tonight...

Alright so this is my second banshee and my first one i bought in a box (haha the best kind) and i didn't actually look hard enough to see that the guy didn't put the locating pins in right and they spun. But i ended up selling that banshee for like 800 bucks, probably one of my biggest regrets because it was completely worked and would have been well worth putting the money into. But anyway i just bought my new banshee about a week ago and its gonna be my project for this year hopefully ill be finished sometime next year around march ( don't worry i have other toys to ride =] ). It has hotrod cranks, ported trinity 2in1 stage IV intake, polished cascade cases and water pump cover and clutch cover, $800 shocks, ill fill you in on more after-market parts later. just have a few questions, the guy didn't include the pistons with it so i have no idea what size or what bore size it is so ill probably have them measured this week and i might just hone the cylinders out instead of having them bored because i don't think there bad. I think its making a lot of power because it blew the stock reeds off and then the guy broke two fins off the stock clutch basket but i have no idea i don't really wanna take the bottom end apart. OK so heres the questions: i wanna know if there stroker cranks and i don't know how to measure them or anything this is what is said on the side: HOTRODS C.K. 121 B wheres the best place to buy grills?and light covers? what type of reed set up do you think? i think I'm gonna try to hit 85-90hp clutches? don't wanna go with lock outs, so hidson? i wanna build it dune worthy but still be able to cruise the trails so +2---+4 swing arm? also i really wanna upload photos but there all 150k- 200k and it said max is 50k?
