Canon EOS Digital Shooting Questions
So Cal Suspension replied to buttercup79's topic in Computers and Technology
I got the t2i a couple months ago, and I love it. I've got a few different lenses. The 18-55mm that came with it, a 28-105mm Canon Ultrasonic that is my every day lens, and a 100-300mm Canon Ultrasonic telephoto. For 90% of my shots, I use everything on Auto. For Macro, I use the 18-55 lens with a UV filter, on "P". No flash, and I use a fluorescent light box if no natural sunlight is available. I don't mess with the aperture or anything like that, because frankly I don't know what the hell 90% of it is. If you want highspeed shots, you need to adjust your shutter speed. -
You sure this "freshman" wasn't really you? You seem to be pretty emotional about it, and know quite a bit about the events that transpired... If it was you, that sucks. I guess it would explain the name "Michael Jackson". It's all starting to make sense now.

Shee leaks gas out of overflow tubes
So Cal Suspension replied to 2002SHEEownr's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
It sounds like it could be all of those things that you posted above. More than likely it is your needle and seat. On the needle, there is a little rubber "cone" that can get a groove worn in it over time, and it will no longer seal. Needles are cheap. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Carb-Float-Needle-LTZ400-KFX400-Warrior-Banshee-Raptor-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2c56835dabQQitemZ190430010795QQptZMotorsQ5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories -
He's kinda right... The valving is not correct for the weight of the banshee. YFZ's are lighter than the Banshee, and the geometry is not the same. Second, YFZ shocks are 15 3/4", stock length banshee shocks are 14 3/4". Now for the good. They are 3 way adjustable. In order to get that from an Elka, you'd need to buy a stage 3, at a minimum. They use a REAL progressive spring. Simulates a dual rate pretty well. They are rebuildable and revalveable (Not cost effective to do so, but the option is always there) There are dual rate kits available for them for around $250.00. My conclusion: I wouldn't run them on STOCK arms. Simply because they are too long (See below), and you have to modify either the shock, or the lower arm to get them to fit. On +2's, or +3's, I would run them, but only as a last resort. In the case of a +2, they would be too soft for just about any rider over 200lbs. You can pick up a set of used Works Performance shocks, built for the banshee, for between 200-300. Not too much more than the YFZ shocks, and they are MUCH cheaper to rebuild, and revalve. They are a true dual, or triple rate off the shelf, and look pretty sweet polished and powdercoated (shameless plug ) Finally, for those of you that WANT to run YFZ shocks on a Banshee with stock arms. I have an option for you. I can shorten the shocks by 1", so they will be correct for your stock arms. PM me for info.

YFZ450 shocks are 15 3/4 eye to eye. Banshee shocks are 14 3/4". If the arms are designed to be used with YFZ shocks, then you can get away with shocks up to about 16 1/2" before you start limiting up travel. Your back end might look a bit narrower. Maybe swap out your +2 axle for a +4 G-Force, or durablue.

If you don't do any jumping, or anything, get a set of 660 raptor shocks, and the r1 rear shock. The 660 raptor shocks are 13" Eye to Eye. 1.5" less than the stock banshee shocks, and will give you about 2-3" of a drop.

LOL, You'd need quite a bit of suspension work to get up to $850... I went to the hobby shop and saw how big those things are in person... holy shit balls... I think I'll stick to a 1/8 or 1/10... lol

While 50-85f is a relatively large spectrum, I would say jump up to 320's. I had similar mods, and ran 320's with 27.5's at or near sea level. Similar temps as well. You always want to start high, and work your way down. I think you should end up in the 310-320 range. Someone else might have better advice than me, though.

I respect doing business face to face. But you want me to get on a plane to Missouri in a week, to watch you do your thing, without anything other than you saying you are who you say you are? If your previous events have been televised, surely you have video of this. Post it up, and we can go from there. You need to realize that nearly everyone who has asks for a sponsorship makes IMMENSE promises and guarantees, and 99% of them fail to keep them. I don't sponsor people just by their word, sorry. Next time your show brings you within 500 miles of Southern California be sure to hit me up. Until then, sorry, but I can't justify taking several days off, and paying to fly to Missouri to watch something that I have no details, or know nothing about. This is starting to remind me of the back flip thread.

You can send him a PM on here. His username is "jlengineering".

The BEST way to lower your rear, is to run a shorter shock. 99-03 Yamaha R1 shocks do the trick nicely and can be had for $35-$75 on ebay. As far as the fronts go, same thing, shorter shocks. But before you buy anything, what kind of riding are you going to be doing?
-
You and me both. I think he drinks heavily. Seriously. He was on last night in the shoutbox at about 1am, rambling about cooking a steak, so he didn't pass out drunk with an empty stomach. It's kinda sad, really...

I've been thinking about getting one of these for a long time. Look fun as hell. Question though. What is the difference between yours and this one? I'm kinda dumb when it comes to these RC cars....
-
That's kinda scary that he knew 6 thousandths was too much, but hoped that it was going to someone who wouldn't check. Imagine if we all did business that way...
-
No one is doubting your skill or ability. You mentioned in your earlier post that you go all over the US, but it seems as though you only do your thing in Missouri. When you're in Southern California, hit me up, and I'll come out and check you out. I'm sure the other several site sponsors that are local here would join me. Tim might even make the trek. Since you said you have banners on your landing ramp, what sponsors do you currently have? I don't want to sponsor someone who is already sponsored by a competitor. And do you have any pictures of that banner, just so we can gauge size? How many events a month/year are we talking? I know several racers that I have sponsored make appearances several times a month. How big are the venues? How often are the exhibitions? Also, Yes, exhibitions do sell SOME product, but not the quantity that large race organizations are capable of selling. Don't think I'm drilling you here, but for myself, or any other business to want to front the kind of money that you're asking for, we need quite a bit of information, and some sort of proof. Maybe put together a 2011 schedule, post it up, and we'll go from there.

John is awesome. Glad he hooked you up!

I initially was going to leave this alone, but figured I'd put my two cents in here. I couldn't agree with Tim more. I talked to a few people about this before I posted, and decided that without some sort of competition record, there's no benefit to myself, or other companies sponsoring someone. The fact is, exhibitions don't sell product... races and competition sell product. In order for me to front over almost $2,000 for a set of shocks, I would want to see a competition record 4 pages long. I'm open to seeing a schedule of upcoming events also, and might even be interested in attending one or two of them to see what it's all about. CGR, you need to realize that we get asked for free product almost on a daily basis. Right now everyone wants something for free, and if we gave it out to everyone who made giant claims, we'd be out of business.

I'm pretty sure your durablue has a lifetime warranty...

So Cal Suspension replied to rubberneck's topic in Riding and Events Forum
You should find yourself a new source for information, because they got POUNDED for almost 3 days straight... I had a ton of friends out there. There were literally ponds all over sand highway... almost unheard of out there. -

I heard the road near the vendors pads was all but gone... These are pictures from the storm. Dumont Dune Riders Has been updating their site every day. I would say head for Glamis, but if you're going to camp in the washes, try to stay <10. I heard 14 got washed out really bad, and a few motorhomes were mudbuckets. -
