You're just going to have to press it towards one side until one clip can be dug out, then once you press the heim out it will be easier to dig that other clip out. Once you have both of them out, though, use a brake cylinder hone and hone out the hole, or steel wool will work too. If you have a vice, the easiest way to press that heim is to use a socket that fits inside the clip and clamp it in the vice.

American Star makes a good set of a-arms. But for the price, I would hit up Tim at Stellar, and get a quote from him. Hands down the best arms money can buy. Just my two cents.

Step one: Remove the seals. Step two: Press the heim towards the side that does not have the clip. (Use a press, or a socket and a hammer) Step three: Remove the clip with snap ring pliers. Step four: Reap the rewards. In all seriousness, is it rusted or something? when you install it, do everything in reverse, except reap the rewards will be step 0.

I'm at a loss... Sounds like he put me up to a challenge. If I can build an unmodified frame bike, that rides better than yours, what do I get? Because I GUARANTEE I can build a bike, that would make yours feel like riding on top of a brick shit house. Steering stabilizers, in MOST applications stiffen steering. They are essentially a tiny little shock absorber that "absorbs" quick little jolts. For example, you're riding on a trail, over a ton of tree roots at a diagonal approach, rather than the bars jarring back and forth every time your tire hits a tree root, this slows down that motion. In normal riding, it will indeed make your steering stiffer. As far as the a-arms go, mounting to a stock Banshee frame, It's possible. Stupid, but possible. It would make the bike so ridiculously wide, that it would be about +4 each side. I'm still up for the build challenge though.

I was reading somewhere a few months ago, I don't remember where, and can't vouch for it's accuracy, but I read that there are Keihin casting "seconds" that were supposed to be sold as scrap out there somewhere. Numbers into the thousands. It's quite possible these are them and were assembled using the same lower quality components like the OKO's. Some of the casting flaws might be nothing serious, but who knows? I say save the headache, and buy OKO's, or Keihins that aren't sold at 1/4 the price. There's a reason they're that cheap.

LOL, you guys crack me up... Don't worry about anything getting stolen. It's not going to happen... No one is going to rob you at gunpoint. No one is going to come traipsing through your camp in red or blue bandannas with sawed off shotguns yelling "ode lay holmes" looking to steal your bike. I NEVER lock anything up out there. I never even lock the door to my motorhome... make friends with your neighbors right when you get there, and have a good time. If your neighbors seem shady, keep on truckin' to a different spot (I've never had to do this). Your neighbors will be your best ally in the "war at glamis"

Call me bias... but what is your suspension set up? You can have 100hp, but if you have awful suspension, you're going to be just as slow as a stock bike.

Your Oregon CCW permit isn't recognized in CA, just FYI. Sometimes we go for "rambo rides". We all sling our AR-15's behind our backs, and go riding through people's camps. It's pretty awesome. ...Kidding...

People have always been getting their shit stolen at glamis. I've never locked anything up at my camp. Then again, our camp is about 15-20 MoHo's or toyhaulers. As far as "gangs" go, I doubt that gang bangers are out to jack your 1997 kx 125, so they can part it out, and make a few bucks. As dumb as gang members are, they're not really in the business of parting out RV's, or bikes. I've never heard of a "problem" though. There's always trouble makers everywhere you go, but 99.999% of the people that are there are there to have a good time. I've been going to glamis since I was about 6 months old, and honestly, the only thing I've noticed changing, is there are more people out there in general, which means there will be more people up to no good. Most of the thefts are of coolers, or bbq's. I have a few buddies that work for BLM, and they usually only have one or two theft reports a weekend. Which isn't too bad, considering on a busy weekend you could have over 200,000 people out there. I wouldn't be worried. If your bikes aren't insured, just lock them up. If you're really worried, keep your coolers and bbq's in your trailer, and you'll be good. We leave camp sometimes for 6-8 hours, and never once have I worried that my things were going to get stolen.

There's a couple things about this guy that bother me. I went to his feedback, and noticed that he's bought baby formula. That means he has a child. It's still available everywhere it always has been. I don't know what that article is talking about. Just about every motorcycle shop, or anything performance related sells the stuff... It's all over the place.

The texaco sometimes doesn't have race gas for months at a time... just FYI. In fact, I don't think I've ever been there that they have actually had race gas...

I have no idea on the law, but Brawley is only about 25-30 minutes from the glamis store, and the texaco (i think it's texaco), has race gas at the pump. I miss the days when the store had gas pumps... =( You have to be careful, though, as their race gas pumps run out quickly on big weekends. Maybe do a google search for a VP dealer in el centro, or brawley. You might be able to special order a 55gal drum through them, and just pick it up on your way out.

I hear ya on that. You probably won't need to angle it down. The flood throws the light pretty well. They are 35 degree lenses on the floods, so they do a great job of distributing the light. I just installed a 22" bar on the front of my long travel car in a flood, and a 42" on the roof in Euro. I still run two HID's on the a-pillars so I can get the distance I need. I wish LED's alone would throw the light far enough, but they don't... Until the technology gets better, I'll keep my HID's... 100+MPH on Sand Highway in glamis gets kinda sketchy without being able to see what's coming up 200+ yards infront of you.
