My best advice is to go over your banshee and learn it real well. This will be your best weapon against mechanical failure. If it was previously owned by someone, I always assume the worse that they were an abusive hack and go through EVERYTHING.

Most likely he was frustrated because the two nuts tend to loosen up without extreme "jump on the wrench" torque so he taped them together so they don't loosen up. I used to use a wide hose clamp but that was ghetto so I drilled/tapped a hole for a setscrew.

Have you ever worked with any of our site sponsors? They offer fair prices and all they do is banshees. Not saying local shops will screw up, just remember that some shops don't re-chamfer the ports and don't know the PTW clearances for various cylinder/piston combos and will use a general size.

Big bore Zuki 105cc Post up pics of Jeff's cover!

What ever your choice may be, the key to a successful and durable job lays more in the prepwork than the surface coat. Spend the extra effort to ensure a proper foundation for your paint/PC and it should last you.

Yeah.... til you you and your kid start adding pipes and carbs and portwork.... big bore kits, stretched swinger, ect..... I know I'd do it!

So why is everybody fucking around with shearers and snipers when we could all be faster with RDZ pipes?!?! Hell, I got my credit card out now. I'll go order a set. Guns smerval will have nothing against my record breaking RDZ piped serval!

5 paddle ftw!

Guns you rocking the OG rockets or R2s? Not sure what power my serval with R2s makes, but it rips damn hard and moves a lot of earth during launch. I estimate it between 60-140hp.

0.012" x 25.4 (conversion to mm)= 0.3048mm Sorry, I read through it fast and didn't see the decimal, thought it was just "50 over". Anyway, I like to be fairly precice on PTW clearance... which means using a caliper that reads to one decimal place won't cut it. I would for sure send them out for a professional analysis. The more "love" you put into your banshee, the more love your banshee will give back to you!

Way to turn this thread into a personal endorsement for your for sale ad! Geez noob

Sherod.... it was just a guess

You playing Nieskes? I'm about 3hr away. If I don't get my motorcycle parts in by the end of the week I might cruise up there for the day.

Awesome! You took one specific example and generalized it to claim one product superior to another. I suppose we can now assume that whenever a sniper pipe joins a group of 20 shearers the sniper will take gold reguardless of rider skill, tire selection, chassis setup, and possibly luck? Step back and look at the data collectively throughout these posts (and other reports). Some show a shearer pipe performing best, and some show a sniper assassin performing best. I think it makes good competition which usually benefits the consumer in price and better design.... however saying you are hearing empty accusations that shearer is better is ignorance. There have been more than a few posts showing proof that shearer worked better for that individual than snipers..... just as there have been individuals who have had more success with the snipers.

Hi Cal, my name's Shelley (with an adam's apple)

Darrell isn't a black name? Does your mother have multiple baby daddies?

As long as you stay away from Trinity, you shouldn't have any issues with domes. Got mine from FAST and they've worked for me.

Anyone see or getting V Force 4 reeds? Saw on eBay?

Thats awesome Jeff, will you be willing to post feedback when you get the chance? -
Haha, that was a bad decision to post this comment. You have made the dog rabid, and now you're poking it with a stick. Very few crimes will make a victim more upset than stealing from him. On a side note, why haven't you been banned yet? You clearly knowingly screwed someone over and instead of making things right (like a real man) you talk smack like a 17 year old kid. You're nothing but a shady worthless man to society who talks like someone who's got their ass beat and has to be tough on the internet to feel some sort of masculinity.

My simple observation through the last 48 pages is this.... Shearer pipes are a popular choice for one reason.... they perform. Sniper Assassins have joined the market to offer another top performing pipe. It is obvious that the shearer and sniper designs are both making serious power curves on the dyno and both pipes are posting positive reviews of real world results. While the snipers aren't dominating the drag pipe world, they bring competition and innovation to the top end in frame pipes that for so many years hasn't changed much. You cannot deny that Jim and SRP have put a lot of effort into this and will continue to put thought and theory to practice. I really hope it pays off.... because if Sniper pipes DO set the standard in the future, I only hope other pipe builders will follow up with new designs of their own. I also like the idea of "custom tailoring" a pipe vs. a generic universal fit. Especially for guys who run servals and other "broad power" cylinders who only have top-end pipes to rely on. But this thread is about drag racing and making an engine that accelerates faster than the opponent... And there is clearly no absolute winner between shearers and snipers as I see a fairly even weighted split between shearers edging snipers and vice versa.

Its been a while since I've dealt with stock banshee motors but I believe 1500ml for a factory clutch cover. Gear oil is common, I just use a 30w synthetic MC oil designed for gears and wet clutches. A little thinner than gear oil but lasts longer than ATF. I'd run it for a tank and change it again to see what you come up with. If the bike is new to you, I'd do a complete inspection and tune up also.

If its gray because its never been changed.... If its gray and has "curdled" like a bad dairy product or has lots of varnish or sludge then you have a very abused banshee.
-
I take it the oil wasn't this color when poored in? Gray, white, or milky colored oil is the result of water or coolant. Pull the water pump and inspect/replace gaskets. Edit: its new to you so you wouldn't know what oil went in....

What does this have to do with jetting and exhaust? I think what you are asking is... "I measured my cylinder and read 64.7mm on a 0.050" overbore. Do I need to bore to the next size?" If so, then first off you cannot measure a cylinder bore to the tenth of an inch.... you need to be much more exact (think hundreth of an inch in several spots including perpendicular and top/mid/bottom bore). Secondly, a 0.050" overbore would result in a total diameter of 65.27mm (in perfect math) so if you're seeing 64.7mm these cylinders were not bored 0.050". Maybe .50mm??? This would result in a bore of 64.5mm and since your measuring tool only goes to the tenth of a millimeter, I would venture to guess its not very accurate. My advice is to send it to a sponsor here. Let them check out what you have. They have the experience to recommend you a hone/ring if your cylinders check out or a rebore and piston kit if needed. They'll have the tools and experience to do this right.

Way to be a stand up guy. Avoid making transactions right but come on here to correct someone about facebook. Its assholes like you that ruin the for sale section for everyone. This could be a trusting community where guys trade/buy/sell parts with honesty and confidence. It is because of selfish douchebags like yourself that give buyers a bad taste. I am nobody to you, and I'd like to keep it that way. I tend to surround myself with men who are upstanding and intelligent not wannabes with no morals.
