yammy can you understand plain english?????????????????????You have been told by more than me quit worring about the rod breaking. It gets frustrating you asking the same old stuff over and over. If you aint gone listen y ask????? Maybe you should go ahead and let your buddy help you cause its apparent you don't trust us. Not being mean just stating facts
-
DUDE quit saying what the guy said about the rod. He is full of BS. He don't know anything. Please get his advise, put it on paper and burn it. Then never ask him again.
-
I think he may be better ditching the buddy. He is gone make you go broke. Told ya the folks on here will get you going just do what they say. They not gone steer you wrong and if somebody jumps in with something stupid they will cell em out. Glad you doing it right GET A CLYMERS
-
sounds good follow the fix it right the first time and be done with it motto and you will be good. The pistons are not that much bigger and not even a consideration. Leave buddy alone
-
I can say from experience my yammy outboard reccomends 100:1 but it is a drastic power decrease from a 40:1 mix. Smokes a little more but alot snappier. I guess second hand smoke is bad on fish

Fist off ditch the guy telling you all this crap. 2nd if you are on a budget carry the jugs to a machine and ask them if they would work like they are with a good honing. This is not the professional way but if you have a limited fund it may be the cheapest way for you. 3rd and i know i will catch heat here but get some pro x pistons (best bang for the buck) they are an oem supplier and I have had excellent service with them in stock to mild engines. 4th quit listening to this dude about a racing rod. If you rod has no vertical play it will be ok. I strongly sugest trying to find someone that actually works on engines to atleat look at it for you. Not the buddy. How bad did the jug get damaged? You should be able to get it bored and new pistons for 300.00

You know sometimes I can't say what I mean or phrase it correctly but you do a GREAT JOB JR I think i did buy a part or two at wal-mart
-
Ok well let me ask this. You said before it started. When and how did it start? Even though the motor is new check the compression. Kinda like the other guy said kinda hard to figure it out on video. It really sound like low compression. Ck it and post the actual number. What do you mean it won't climb a hill in 1st? I understand your frustration but ever bit of info helps. PLEASE ck compression

I have some t5 cans that I will sell that will def be louder.

X2 Fenders are worth about 3 mph. lotta wind drag. Seems like a 1/4 is a long way for a banshee. don't know never tried but I think 12's are legit.
-
Yes I know you are wrong youg whipper snapper. Not gone argue this point. You know alot of times you buy a name. But what do I know. You are the pro here.
-
Hey, after watching the video you are in the lowend. That was like in 3rd or 4th gear and a slow speed. You are pinning the throttle and dumping lots of gas. Not gone get a hole lot better I dont think. Not with that set up. A 2 stroke has to be in its zone "sweet spot" to perform like it is susposed to. That slow in that high of a gear is making it very unhappy.

It sounds to me that in the video it is a little rich. I would call that more toward the lowerer end. Now from what little experience i have diferent port jobs sometimes produce bad characteristics on bottom end especially if it is a full drag or a port for upper rpms. It has alot to do with duration. You may not get it perfect throughout the band. But I think it can be better. Almost sound as though it is loading up. What ratio is the oil as if it would matter? If it is like 32:1 it will be rich in oil. When you put more fuel you also are dumping more oil. Mine did about this same thing when I put a drag port setup on. I had stock carbs with 27,5 pilots and 350 mains. I ended up runnig Super techniplate @ 50:1 instead of the 32:1 I was running. Just a thought.

packing will quieten it down. There's is prob in need of packing

naw not long at all just about as long as you been alive. Don't fool yourself into thinking just because it cost more it is better. If you think that you have not been around long. Not being rude just stating the facts

I feel the same way. I feel like the problem starts by incorrectly torqing them down. People just pic a bolt and tighten the crap out of it. Anything that is aluminum is prone to warpage more so than other materials. Boss is working fine for me now with no problem. I believe if I would ave bought new problem may have been avoided. REMEMBER, YOU ALSO (DON'T) ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. You can take nothing and make something it just depends on the amount of time you are willing to spend.

yep thats what it is. It works a a baffle

You always replace pistons in sets. Its just common knowledge. If you have one "fresh" side and one "ok" side you will be putting greater stress on the stronger cylinder. Thats why when you ck compression both cylinders have to be close. When you change spark plugs do you change 1 or 2? Do you run 1 worn out back tire and one new one? Sure you can but it would take an

All I can say is ck the links i posted and research it yourself. I work at a Yamaha Dealer and it is nearly impossiable to get it here without spending twice what its worth. The dealership I work for is not able to help me at all. You have to use a middle man and you have to verify that he is a legit importer. I am not sure you can legally import it as new being it wont pass the emissions. I had thought about having a relative I have in EU buy it and ship it to me. But by that was all said and done I would have been able to have bought 2 in the us for the same price. Sombody gone be a smart ass and argue all I have said but its a free county (FOR NOW). Do you own research and you make your own conclusion.
-
Let me be clear I'm not saying a 500cc monstosity. I mean the regular ole banshee.
-
ignorance is priceless http://www.yamaha-motor-europe.com/product...sure/yfz350.jsp Yes yamaha did not stop making them.(Still the same ole banshee) Just don't meet emissions in the us. Would not be worth the cost to get it imported.\Think what you wish but my dad has nothing to gain by telling me he had seen a couple 09 in the dealership in EUROPE. So take your nonsence elsewhere http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_Banshee_350
-
o didnt know that.... I guess this make million and 1 and it was old long time ago. My bad I just know that my dad works in europe and they have 09's there.
-
I must have missed something....what went where????? :ermm:

Always do it right the first time or you are asking for it. Both cylinders work together. You need to keep everything in this perspective. Never just do one side. Do both. You can get pistons in a set so you get both. If you are doing this for the first time get some help abd buy a manual. It will save yo alot of headache. Around here it is 100.00 to bore both cylinders, about 150-200 for pistons and about 100 for misc stuff like gasket set and so forth. So about 400.00 will get you going if you do it yourself. Not for the novice though
