Don't get me wrong I love my banshee. But I think the deal is the money to power ratio. It take less money to make a 2 stroke faster. with unlimited funds on a thumper and a 2 stroke the thumper will win. With same riders. As far as a modern day 600 cc r6 2stroke i can imagine what would happen coming through a hairpin and the thing all of a sudden hits its sweet spot.... ba ba ba bbawwaaaaa. I am in south ms there guy. You bring a piped only shee with a 2 n 2 1 carb and some chrome and i'll run you title for tile with my little ole 450. Now yall dont get the wrong idea here...not saying it is all that but I have beaten piped shees regularly. Then we can can take a stroll through the woods and see if you can keep up. Its all in fun Now a shee with a few mods i can't do anything with. My "graph" shows my 450r at 50hp. But it is all usable

That is normal. Like said it is going lean wich means you are running it out of oil. That will get expensive soon. Y do you do that?????? Just turn the fuel off when you kill the bike.

email me a price and some pics....where are you located??? Would you help arrange shipping??? Thanks [email protected]

Graphs are like infomercials, they can claim whatever and sell alot to people who don't have a clue. I agree with daj. The ds outpowers the shee. I am certain as I have seen with my own eyes that a stock banshee only puts out around 35 hp. I don't think his mods are close to 50. That 2 in 2 1 is killing it. You want torque at the bottom. This is apparently a waste of time arguing with the guy who believes this graph. I love my banshee but facts are facts. The ds with the same rider skills has better power control and will win. PERIOD I tell ya what graph guy. I have one of the crappy 05 trx450's only with a hrc kit. maybe 45hp if the wind is right. It will not get outran with a mild banshee.

Av gas is way cheaper and is way better than a 50/50 mix.

stock 68mm cubs vs ported stock jugs 4mm

HA good to know I wasted that bit of time. I won't do it again!!! Thanks. I figured it would atomize as it ran through the reeds. But that was just a thought. The beading makes since because that is what happens on the back of a carb if you look closely. I guess if I would have put a little thought in it I prob would have just polished the wheels or something....... Thanks for the help dj. i just bought the cubs. Look foward to seeing if they perform any better. -
Maybe packing out of the silencer???? Or carbon build up it the headpipes. If it had raw fuel sitting in the pipe it may have turned loose.

stock 68mm cubs vs ported stock jugs 4mm
slopoke replied to slopoke's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
OK so you are saying that porting the cubs will not yield a big gain like the stockers? So I guess I would be better off putting the money for porting in other areas? I can handle the clean up. I took the time with my stock cylinders after they came back from porting to polish the intake and exaust ports to a mirror finish and tried on the transfers, It prob didn't make and difference but I felt led to do so. -
stock 68mm cubs vs ported stock jugs 4mm

The cylinders I am reffering to are new not used. I am thinking I am going to run it stock cub port for now. I am going from a stock stroke drag port to the stock port cub 4mill. I haope I will see a difference. I know porting the cubs will make alot of difference but funding is limited. Thanks to all for the help. -

Thanks I think that is the route I will take. Is that a blaster piston? Is 20 cc ok for alky??? on a big bore 4mm?? -
stock 68mm cubs vs ported stock jugs 4mm
slopoke replied to slopoke's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I already have the 4 mill crank,35mm pwks gas and alky, cut domes for 4 mill, and all the other bits and pieces needed. I have a set of stock cylinders but by the time I have them ported and bored I would have as much in them as I could get a cub cyl for. I found a new 68mm 4mill stroke cub cyl for 600.00 It has a fuel pump tap but I could block that off I guess. I am kinda leaning toward the cubs. -
stock 68mm cubs vs ported stock jugs 4mm

this is the info i am needing. I am talking ported stock vs unported cub. THANKS -
one end of the tee goes to the engine case, one goes to the water pump housing then you take the remaining port on the tee and run it up the steering stem.

Ok guys, Need some opinions once again. Prefer opinions with some type of experience behind them as I have none on this matter. Here is the deal. I want to know which will perform better. A set of full drag ported stock jugs or non ported 68mm cubs on a 4mill? I know later I can port the cubs but it would be a while.

ask them which side of the round oring faced up????
-
Now mine will not pressurize the rad. It is the rubber plug on bottom. Sounds like yours may be the headgasket
-
just checked/ no bent rods. I think the rubber plug may be leaking not sure though.
-
Older folks like em around here because their utility atvs are still fairly simple. Hold up really well/
-
I will loose a radiator full of water it no time. I just did it all at once. I am going to ck the rubber plug. I wasn't sure where the water would go if they leaked. I pulled the reeds and the rh side is full of water. Pulling jugs shortly. PS WHEN I SAY ALOT I MEAN YOU CAN FILL A CUP UP IT JUST A FEW SECONDS.
-
OH YEA it loosing water bad. Not pushing it out, its going out the exaust
-
Cranked her up today and went for a spin. Noticed the righthand side would go quiet after easing around a bit then when I would hammer on it it would come back. Got back to the shop only to find when you gunned it it would blow a lot of water out the exaust. I pulled the head and thought I found the prob. An oring was kinda scarred so I replaced all orings. Put it back together and ran it down the road. Still done the going dead on the rh side. I am going to pull the pipes and make sure they are not full of water. Both sides have 210 psi of pressure.

They are kinda popular round here (south) Don't know abiut their snow buggies though..............
