  1. How is this more efficient than a stock box with a good filter ??
  2. Out of the last handful of wiseco pistons I've used, only one ring needed to be filed, including a Warrior. I always check them though.
  3. I wouldn't worry about dot tires. Get some flat track tires
  4. No, they were both say 65mm , but may have had say .0005" difference
  5. If it was a sudden or somewhat sudden change it's not jetting, except weather related. I suggest checking everything with the fuel system. Then check electrical.
  6. This is so very true !! My son's cylinders and pistons came back marked A & B. I never asked how much difference between the two pistons, didn't matter to me. I assembled accordingly.
  7. Then they show nothing. Do a proper plug chop with current jetting first, if it shows rich then change jets. Several other thing could show same symptoms. Not enough power for gearing/tires , extreme weather changes from original jetting weather?
  8. Was actually going to call you, but got busy. As to the top end not cleaning out, could try removing snorkle from air box lid, if it gets better then try removing the lid. Still unsure why it would have had the larger main as only mod is the reeds.
  9. Turn them 1/8 turn one way or the other, doesn't matter. If it's better you can tweak it from there. If not, return to starting point and go 1/8 the other way. Straight slot/knurled screws on top raise/lower slide for idle speed. Wish I would have written down the jet sizes when I had carbs apart. IIRC pilots were stock 25, mains were 240 I believe. Which I thought was weird because stock is 200 I think. Don't know if that was because of the reeds ( VF 1 or 2) I was going to wait and see what others may say, but thought you might want input ASAP, lol. I'm going north after noon, sometime, so call me if you want. Will post more later.
  10. As to crank they aren't worth messing with unless it's something special, like 7,10 mil As to new piston in old hoe, if things are that good all you need is a hone and rings. If you are buying new pistons spend the money and have it bored. Cylinders naturally wear out of round and tapered, therefore new pistons will NOT fit properly. Machine shop will measure cylinders and tell you what size overbore you will need. When they have pistons they bore and hone to fit those pistons. Putting new pistons in old hoes will actually reduce your reliability, unless they are perfect.
  11. You said "Arm is chewed up" Do you mean connecting rod ?? If so definitely replace the whole crank? Even if it is just one bearing you have to wonder why did if go out? And what effect would that have on the rest of the bearings, including rods. If you're wanting to cheap out on the engine, you sure as fuck can't afford PC. From the sounds of things you should just get a couple spray bombs and call it a day.
  12. Won't know if you don't fix it.
  13. Other than Stator, check pickup coil gap and make sure both same .018 and no rust on nubs.
  14. Are you at high elevation? DMC site calls for 330 at sealevel, everything else stock. Looking on Vito's site description States rejeting required, so ya. Anytime you change air in or out you need to rejet. Might be apples and oranges, but put super stock in a Blaster and went up 4-5 sizes, everything else was stock.
  15. Check that carb yet? Can you see through main, pilot , and holes on side of emulsion tube? Check float level. Depending on how it runs and starts, and budget could run it. Or throw a set of rings in it IF the piston clearance is less than service limit. Or it may be time for a fresh bore.
  16. Get it centered better and pinch if tighter
  17. Specs on J arms? Over/under, light weight or could they pound the trails ?
  18. Unscrew the plug caps and ohm them. Should be 5k resistance. Also check pickup coil gap .018 , no rust on nubs
  19. So is the 115 on the same side ??
  20. Don't like it? Stop riding it !! LOL Asymmetrical design, causes you to walk to the right when you get off.
  21. His "mechanic" is probably his sister.
  22. As long as it was bored/honed to fit the piston and don't wait until they blow to freshen it up. A drawback of cast piston is when worn out they can shatter from slopping around in a worn out hoe.
  23. Look for burned wires. Disconnect kill switch, jumper key switch. Is TORS and parking brake limiter deleted? All wire connections clean and tight??
  24. Well FFS, try describing it. Is axle hub nuts tight ??
  25. Adjusters on cap are for slack and syncing both sides. Idle screw is for setting idle
