  2. Take note that "kit" was for WSM pistons . Not knocking them , never used them. You get what you pay for. X-2 on site sponsers, have heard nothing but good bout them , plus they help keep site going !!

  8. Little more info would be helpful. Is it 100% stock? Or is the snorkle or lid removed , air filte stock? You get the idea. Why new piston ? Why one?
  9. Watched that You Tube of how to make a mold , it would be do-able. Rather labor intensive/material involved. They would have to be dirt cheap because of durability. Check out Fast Fiber , their stuff isn't to terribly expensive , to give you an idea on value. JMHO , your results may vary.
  10. Maybe lay them upside down and use a couple quartz worklights or some heat lamps. Probably work better inside if you can do it.
  11. Bean oil starts jelling up around 40* F , don't know about other oil for seperation. If I were riding in real cold shit I'd look into snomo oil ,JMHO ,your results may vary.
  12. Using gas is a VERY BAD idea. Good way to make an ASH of yourself. You could drop a shaft on concrete floor , little spark ,BAMM !! Do like AK said , fuel oil clean pan, maybe clean fuel with brake cleaner then oil it up. You don't even want to know how I cleaned muddy water out of a crank !!
  13. Welcome to BHQ !! Try cleaning carbs one at a time ( as some parts are different) .Set float level . Be sure to install choke crossover tube. Dissasemble and clean fuel petcock. Might as well clean tank out too . Starting fluid won't hurt long as you don't get to crazy. Get a Clymers manual , well worth it !! Can't think of anything else , to early. Check back later . Yeah two strokes can be a bee otch when they get flooded.
  14. Welcome to The H.Q. !! Try adjusting your needle. Try simulating same conditions and pull choke half way out as you do it. If better lower clip (raise needle) If not better go oppisite. Would also be helpful to list ALL modifications .

  17. Number of studs would depend on what you can spend, maybe 15-20 to start, always can add more. Thought I saw someone say they had no problem with studs and no tube. Maybe Slime ? Try with nothing , if it leaks to fast try something else. Just be careful , my son saw someone either at White Lake or Lake Orion chewed their leg up thru Carhartts trying to push his quad over a snow bank.

  19. I think what the plan is that when you get it sorted out THEN you post it in that thread at the top ,so if I have a simular setup I look and say ok IF I start with a xxx jet I should have a good starting point. Also might want to try 27.5 pilot.
  20. You have initial failure and then you get collatteral damage. Post some pics of the carnage. General consensus here in U.S. is that it ends up being cheaper and better to get a new crank that's trued and welded. Unless you put a plug with a2 in nose on it in , it is impossible for the piston to hit the plug because of the dome .Don't know if big end failing would cause piston to fail,sounds fishy to me ,don't matter really , it's broke. Blew a Suzuki T-500 once that only top of piston was left, did piston fail causing pin to drop into transfer or did pin drop into port exploding piston? Don't know , didn't matter it was fucked .
  21. On my son's that hose and one fromrear by motoe mount T together then run longer hose up front.
  22. Been wondering how your build was going. Can't comment on your settings other than keep eye on plugs. Does it run good? Are you satisfied with your port job?
  23. Tuning is not that difficult. Read/research here and other sites. Start in jetting and exhaust. Clymers repair manual has a section on tuning. Just keep in mind that any time you change anything you have to re-jet. Was a thread about basic mods / amount of change ,as in remove snorkel go up one , remove lid up two. Keep in mind that no two quads are the same , always start on the fat side with jetting ,you might not get that last horse but you also won't get a hole in your piston. And you can always get help here !!

  25. WHY ?? Most I have seen look like cobbled up shit. Sell the shee ,get a 450 or 660 ,the frame is a lot taller and will make fitting the engine a lot easier. Plus be prepared for a TON of work , and most hybrids I've read about were more headach and 3X the money expected. Only hybrids I've seen that make sense is YZ 400 - 490 in a Blaster and Banshee in a YFZ 450. Maybe I'm to much of a purist and hate to see a 'Shee butchered up. Get a Suki quad for a Suki engine. JMHO, your results may vary . Opinions are like assholes ,everone has one.
