  1. Mine did the same when I first got my bike. I live in the desert, so there is very little water. More dirt and sand for me. I didn't have to deal with a possible rust issue inside the kicker like prolly most of ya. I used to live in Michigan. To Damn cold for me! All I did to my kicker was rotate to the down position while on the bike and poured some Royal Purple 5/30 in it. Did this a couple different times. Not had an issue with it sticking again. Mine still rattles but I can live with that for now. Now that you guys posted how to fix it, I'll be able to if it ever locks back up on me. Thanks for posting the fix M8's!
  2. Just remember that Yellow coolant can be added to any other type of coolant out there. Just never, Never, never add Dex-Cool to Green coolant or you will have a shit mess! Yellow will mix with Dex just fine and not cause any gel to form. Dex-Cool was only good for one thing.... Eating Gaskets.... That's why most GM's out there when you look under the hood have coolant leaks. Green will be a thing of the past and so will Dex-cool soon. Don't believe me, lol just look under your GM product where engine meets the tranny. More times than not you will see a line of shit on the engine block that is sometimes a red/orange color and feels like oily wax. That's Dex-Cool
  3. I think gst_r is correct about it being a piston for a big bore. Is there anything printed or stamped on the inside of the skirt? Little circle with a letter inside?
  4. Midlifecrisis, I am not sure what that is but it doesn't come in the box when you order them. My first guess was some sort of oil ring but 2 stroke doesn't use an oil ring. With HotRod and Namura piston kits you get 1 piston, 2 rings, 1 wrist pin, and 2 of the clips that hold the pin. HotRod Products Here is a link to HotRod's "Stroker" Pistons. Its funny that piece is in every pic of the 2 stroke pistons. Your Ebay Item #400167839997 (Wiseco piston kit) shows exactly what you will get without the stickers lol when you get HR or Namura kits. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this. Its pictured but will not come in the box when ordered as I mentioned above.
  5. They look exactly like the Namura piston but if you look on Namura site you will see they don't make a pistons for the stroked machines. I have a set of Namura pistons 65.0m sitting here next to me I can't use right now because they are made for a stock crank. The only difference I found other than the size of my HotRod (long rod) piston and the stock Namura was the stamp inside on the skirt. Namura has a fancy N while HotRod has an HR. If you were to have a stock HR piston and a stock Namura piston, they do look the same. Is Namura a knock off of HotRod? I couldn't tell you that, I can confirm they do look the same and one costs more than the other. My rebuild project did have me confused at first. I ordered up the stock Namura pistons 65.0m, got them here forgetting I had the long rod 4mil crank. I set the jugs on, left the head off and rolled the motor over. LOL to my surprise they came out of the cylinders to far. I thought to myself, this wont work you dumb ass the wrist pin has to be offset. So that's when I ordered the HotRod 4mil long rod piston. I'm into my 3rd tank of gas on the HotRod pistons. All is good so far!
  6. Now I know I disconnected mine wrong by not installing the kit but what I did was... Disconnect both Tors units buy unplugging the wires that lead to them. I also disconnected the wires that went up to the throttle. After my wires were disconnected I took the filters off and turned the screws on top of the Tors units so the slide inside the carbs dropped as far as they would. Then I went to the throttle cable adjustment nut and adjusted both so the slides were set very close to each other when pushing the throttle. When I got them close to opening up the same I tightened the throttle cable nut back down (make sure that rubber boot goes all the way back on). After everything was back together, other than the wiring I use the screws on the top of the Tors unit to fine tune them. I used my eyeball to see that both slides were opening at the same time. If one was opening before the other I would use the Tors adjustment screw to sync them. After the adjustments were done, I started the bike and adjusted the idle using the Tors adjustment screws. Maybe someone will chime in here and give there idea. Anyway good luck m8!
  7. stroker pistons That seems to be the link to the ebay page. These are the pistons I used to rebuild my banshee this time. I only have a couple hours of ride time on them so I cant give you very much input at this time. By the look and feel of the pistons they seem to be well built and solid feeling. In my own opinion people buy HotRod cranks, why not HotRods Pistons too...??? Remember, this guy on ebay sells piston kits meaning 1 piston and 1 set of rings for $85 I got mine from here Powersport Superstore for $67 each. Shipping was extra of course.
  8. If you build one yourself, it's a lot cheaper! Here is a link on how to do it. Leak Down Tester Good luck!
  9. First I would like to thank all of you guys that took the time to comment. All the info was very helpful!!! Final update: After my tuning trip I ended up using a 370 main jet. I got a great looking plug after wot. I did notice the other day after riding, I have developed a small leak on the right hand side. Saw a little fuel oozing between the jug and the reed valve assembly. A little Yamabond should seal that back up. Happy as could be. My Banshee rips ass once again!
  10. Ok fellas, Here is an update. Got my motor back together. Did not go with Wiseco pistons ... Went with HotRods stroker pistons this time around. Everything went together as it was meant to. I'm happier than a pig in shit right now! Replaced both pistons, replaced both intake boots, and re-jetted carbs to a 330 main jet. Rode for about 20min here in my backyard, got her warmed up then just let it set. Been setting about 2hrs now. going to load it up and take it for a spin. Wanna do some plug checks since re-jetting. Seems to have all its power back. To be honest with you guys, I was and still am a bit nervous about dropping the jet size. But if the 390's were in it to satisfy an air leak then all is good because I have no air leaks now! I put the 330's in it right away. Gave it 1/2 choke all it took was 1 kick. Well I'm heading out to get it jetted perfectly. Many thank to all the reply's everyone gave, everything was very useful! Thanks.
  11. Check and make sure the intake boots are not cracked. If they are replace them.
  12. Wish I could tell you that oil was coming from everywhere but it's not. Intake boots were always clean and dry. My silencers got some black on the ends but never wet with oil. I realize with the amount of oil I was using in my pre-mix it should have been dripping from the intakes and from the pipes. I'll do the sand paper trick before I install the carbs again. Thanks! I'll tell ya I have tried every main jet from 290 threw 400. when we hit 390 it had the hardest pull and ran its best. Do you think I'm over jetting it? I know your not here to see first hand but... I'll take any advise lol! Some rework on the jet calc and it tells me my mains should be between 300-360 running 32:1
  13. If I'm not mistaken the Klotz's I use says to mix 4oz of oil to every gallon of gas to make 32:1 So that would make 20oz to 5gallons a 32:1 mix. I usually mix 22oz to my 5gallons of gas, so as you can see, my mix is just a hair fatter than 32:1 If I run anything less than a 390 on my mains the bike is a complete DOG and ya got to keep playing with the throttle to make it run (idles fine) . Not to mention the pugs turn white as a ghost. Casa Grande's elevation is 1,398-2,090 feet above sea level. Using the Banshee Jet Calculator inside the Banshee toolkit I found on here... It tells me to make the pilot jet a 27.5 and the mains 370. We tried that and it makes the bike doggy. Soon as we jumped up to 390 and the air/mix screw 1/4 turn out it took off like a rocket (as it should) As I have mentioned before it will run Great one day, both plugs look like there burning correctly. The next time I go out and ride it blows the right side up (Lean) I am really hoping it was the intake boot on the right side that maybe causing this. Soon as I get my pistons and put back together I'll do a leak test and see what I come up with. Should have the pistons in the next couple days. Just a quick thanks to all here that left comments and suggestions! More info always helps
  14. Alright I bought the bike and it was basically stock. It had a dirt digger clutch in it, TR-6 pipe set (Toomey), spacer plates on the intakes. That was all I could see had been done. Things I have had done.... Bored 1mm over so its a 65mm (due to damage done on the first blow up) Cylinders have been ported and polished (did this on the 3rd build) HotRod 5mm Longer Rod, +4mm stroker crank HotRod part #4111 ( this on the 3rd build to cuz it trashed the stock crank) 795 series pistons Wiseco Head work: the domes custom machined for the 2mm clearance instead of using the spacer plate... because adding the spacer plate between your cases and cylinders raises your port height. (true or not idk...???) Stock carbs ( Mikuni) Pilot jet is 27.5 Main jet 390 Center notch on the needle (Cleaned Many Many Times!) Uni pod filters As you have read in my first post above, I have consistently blown up the right side... The left side burns excellent, never any trouble with it. Same set up in the carb as in the right. I don't understand how it can burn correct one day and blow up the next time I ride showing Lean. I run 92 gas and Klotz Super TechniPlate mixed just a hair fatter than 32:1 Blows my mind. Anyway just waiting for pistons to show up. Got new intake boots to put on. Couldn't for sure see if cracks went all the way threw or not. the right side looked worse than the left. I could understand a leak there if looked like it was cracked threw. Better safe than sorry I guess, besides it's one of the things I haven't replaced yet. The pocket book can't do carbs yet so that has to wait for now.
  15. Here is a pic of the right side piston. The left side looks brand new still. Does it look to you guys that cylinder ran lean? I'll get back in here later and list all my mods that have been done.
