  8. When you adjusted at pressure plate did you have plenty of slack in cable before/while adjusting? Double check pancake is installed correctly. Maybe pull clutch arm and see if it's excessively worn. Have seen where some don't worry to much with aligning clutch marks, I have no experience with that. With a new cable you should have way more adj at lever.
  9. Welcome to BHQ !! Perform checks as mentioned. were pipes already on, or did you add them? Either way you need to check your jetting. Post up what you have in it, someone will point you in right direction. When you say that once it does start it screams, are you describing a great running motor or uncontrolable runaway engine? Comepletly disassemble carbs and re-clean, this means both jets. Make sure the pilot is clean, look at it very close, it's a very small hole and a tiny piece of crud will effect it . Make sure the bowl with the "bb" goes on left carb, slide ctuaway faces air box, choke crossover tube is installed between carbs. Best way to clean carbs is a bucket of Berrmans, let them soak a good while to break down any deposites that may be in small passages. Blow out all passages. Just spraying with a little carb cleaner will NOT get the job done. Post back with your results.

  11. 4mil refers to a crakshaft with a 4 mm longer stroke, requires some mods/pieces to use it. To OP , most prefer not to run at .100 over, say the liner is to thin. hope this helps
  12. Windy, that motor you had, were they factory matched? To O.P. , are your cases factoy matched?
  13. Either the throttle cable or the Mickey Mouse double linkage Throttle Override Retarded Shit is hanging up. Elim kit will solve that problem plus get rid of the malfunctioning "I lost my fucking mind " tors brain box. I did my son's because it needed a throttle cable any ways.

  15. Before you pull jugs run a stright edge across them in several spots to make sure they are even. Pull drain plugs on side of cyls. Check rubber plug on base of cyls.

  18. Do all the testing/checking BEFORE you start replacing parts. Could be something as simple as a bad switch/ broken/lose wire.
  19. I see nothing wrong with a little RVT, wipe off excess. Gotta think that the exhaust and pipe could wear over time. Not many of us are running brand new shit.
  20. Idle screws should be about 1 1/2 turns out. If considerably more or less means you need different pilot jets or clean carbs.

  22. Also, what kind of oil? What was timing set at? Has this only happened once?
  23. Have you rode it since the first time it started doing this? Sure it wasn't overheating or running lean?
