  1. Midrange power on a short track, top end on a long track.
  2. If your banshee only has pipes and you need more power,I would strongly suggest a +4 timing plate. You will gain a lot more power than throwing very expensive reeds in there.
  3. Adjust your floats to stop the leak, make sure the carbs are clean. Make sure your choke tube is intact. Make sure the carbs have the same settings. How does it run? If the right one smokes more it doesn’t mean it’s a crank seal,it could, but I find most of the time something else is out of whack. Tuning isn’t going to help you very much until you fix your float/leaking issue
  4. Single carb all the way. You gain a few horsepower down low and lose maybe 2 on the high end.
  5. Ive had many banshees. One thing they all have in common is that they handle like shopping carts. Are there any sport quads that are worse?
  6. Everyone who has a banshee thinks its worth big bucks because they are discontinued or something.
  7. There wouldnt be much development with the banshee through the years eaither. Only big change was J-arms to A-arms.
  8. The best pipes would be those that are matched to your port timing. I would ask the builder which pipes he suggests for your port job. Putting on the wrong pipes will actually cost you power in some of the rpm range.
  9. Wow 20:1 definitely isn’t helping anything. I run 40:1 on fresh motors and. I Go as light as 50:1 on older motors
  10. Unless you have the equipment yourself its probably cheaper to just buy a new crank.
  11. Just buy a quality aftermarket head with stroker domes
  12. Sounds like it was a long rod, your going to need 795 pistons+ that spacer plate.
  13. By banshee based I mean still a banshee engine. You can build an entire banshee engine with aftermarket,so that would be banshee based in my book
  14. Theres a video floating around facebook that claims the banshee in it dynoed 300hp. In the video it looks like an average drag run. This got me thinking. Is 300hp even possible without getting nasa engineers involved? aftermarket cases/tranny/cylinders etc?
  15. Best way to build an mx banshee is to sell the banshee, buy an mx quad and put a banshee sticker on it.
  16. This crank welding business is weird. Ive built a ton of banshees, several variations of 4mil hi compression and lower compression. Stock stroke everything etc. Not one time have i had one crank welded and not one time have i had a crank problem. In fact in my garage i have a 4mil drag port with cpi inframes,33pwk's,+4 timing, noss head runs on 1/2 93 1/2 race fuel, and a normal old 4mil hot rods. Had it together for 3+ years and no crank problem. But not to knock anyone who swears on it,to each his own. Guess im just lucky.
  17. I would throw some gas in and drag that thing with a car till it fired
  18. Channel locks on the arm coming out of the motor will tell the truth
  19. If you have trouble fowling plugs with yamalube your problem isnt the premix
  20. You guys are nuts, properly built lt's 87' and later are great bikes.
  21. Whenever i try to use the rear brakes on a loose soil downhill the rear just locks up and goes crazy,i just use compression braking. The only time i use back brakes on downhills is when i have to almost stop. The only other 2 times i have found them useful is on emergency stops, and then when trying to loosen the axle nut lol!
  22. Am i the only one who could almost do away with back brakes on my banshee and not notice? They cause more trouble than help.
  23. lol you cant start a banshee without hurting yourself
