  1. Hi guys I have a stock 2002 yamaha banshee; it starts and runs ok but i am having some problems getting it to run right. Cold starts it doesn't matter if you have the choke in or out it starts up and idles wayyy to high even with the choke off. (Choke really doesnt do anything)Then once it warms up for about 3-5 minutes it calms down but when the throttle is applied it has a low end bog and once you get to half throttle it bogs even more and pours smoke. Then once it runs for 7-10 minutes it will take off and drive but again has a low end bog and when I get to 6th gear and give it throttle it bogs, sometimes wants to die,and backfires. I don't know what is going on it is all stock, stock jetting, stock pipes, stock airbox, still has tors. It also eats fuel like crazy. I run 40:1 mixed gas and it still pours smoke like crazy at low idle and at startup. Air screw is set to 3.5 turns out. ANy advice would be greatly appreciated. Carbs have been cleaned multiple times and all jets are clean and clear. As well as all the air holes. Hope to hear your reply thanks
  2. Oh really... I didnt know that. Does that explain my plugged pilot jet. Should I just get new pilots jets because no matter how many time i clean them they get plugged again.
  3. Hey guys so I am working on this 02 banshee and I am trying to get the carbs set up. I cleaned everthing and the pilots jets keep getting clogged and not letting the banshee rev up. I even installed a fuel filter and flushed out my gas tank. I run 20:1 fuel and the everytime I put it back together it runs like crap and bogs. I proceed to take it apart again and I find the pilot jets are clogged yet again. It also smokes pretty bad which means the plugs get fouled. I tried leaning it out but no matter how much I lean it out it still bogs and I am starting from base line settings. Any suggestions????? Also it was put away running and sat In a shed for 5 years before I started fixing it. If someone can give me some info that would be great. Thanks.
  4. The needles are bent at the end but they are also slightly warped in the middle. I already ordered new needles. I got them right from Yamaha because it was surprisingly cheaper. Thanks
  5. Ok Thanks... the carbs are bone stock jetting wise but I was mainly wondering how many turns to set the idle and air/fuel mixture screw. Thanks
  6. Hi guys I am on here yet again having problems with my banshee. I am wondering what the bone stock carburator settings are. I can sync the carbs myself later but I want to know what the bone stock settings are. Also both of my throttle needles are bent at the ends. Other than making it hard for the needle to go into the main jet would the fact that the needles are bent effect anything. If someone has an answer I would really appreciate it. Thanks
  7. Hi everyone! I am replacing the front sprocket on my banshee and I would like to know if it is right hand thread or left hand thread? If someone can please give me an answer that would be great. Thanks
  8. HI I am having trouble tuning my banshee if you put the air/fuel mixture screw in does it lean or richen the mixture? If anyone can help me out on this please let me know. Thanks
