What's a stock 2001 worth? Midwest pricing.
madjimmax replied to BMP's topic in General Banshee Discussion
If its completely stock unmolested and untouched and its what you want go for it. If it was me I'd flash the cash in his face and offer him $2000. With that said untouched shees are hard to find so if its in as good of shape as you said its probably not to bad of a deal. Most of what you see out there are the ones some kids been farting around with and bolting and unbolting shit. If possible post up some pics -
Sorry dude it looks like you just wasted two perfectly good wrenches
-
X2 on that we as hunters get enough shit just for doing what we do.

With all of these modquad heads leaking I would think twice before buying one. I cant believe that they said to just silicone it IMO thats fucked up. Aint that what the orings are for? I have had my vitos hemi head for about 6 years now and I've never had a problem. This sounds like this is something that modquad needs to address.

yzf450 front end issues.....steering arm length
madjimmax replied to Valin's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I dont understand why some of you guys are so against this mod. I've done it and love it, And when I compare the ride of my shee with the ride of my buddies shee I dont feel any difference and my buddy has LSR +2 arms and elka shocks the only that I can see between the two is that he paid Over $1500 and I've got a little more then $400 invested. I'm not tyring to argue this with anybody I just dont know why some guys are against this. -
They just need to be retorqued. Once you put them through a heat cycle you need to retorque them and they will be fine. I always torque to 20 inlbs start and warm up then I retorque to 22 inlbs and you should be golden

X2 on the blue magic its some good shit I use it all the time it will make you polished wheels sparkly also or any metal really. I used it on my stingers yesterday and damn they shine like they never did even when they where new. Just be careful with the stellwool or brillo it will scratch the shit out of your pipes. I didnt need steelwool I just used the blue magic and did it a couple of times and wow.

yzf450 front end issues.....steering arm length
madjimmax replied to Valin's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
You are right but make sure you get the whole front end including spindles, hubs and calipers. If your going to use your stock shee spindles its not going to work very well because the ball joints bind up really bad. I've done the swap and I think its great. Ive got about $400 into the swap and thats including a brand new pair of yfz450r shocks. For that kinda price I couldnt say no. I think that you can use your stock hubs, but I didnt and the yfz calipers are two piston instead of one so stopping is a ton better. OH and as far as spacers there use to be a dude on here that made them but all you need is some 3/8" spacers and then cut the lower arms so they fit or just move the a arm mount thats on the frame. -
X2 on the GB style bracket. Please JD make one like the GB one so I can send my money your way also, I'm just not sold on having everything up front like that. I've starting reassembly and could for sure use something. And my coolant bottle is also of no concern so that style of bracket would be nice.

X2 on Jeff. The customer service that will come with a purchase made from Jeff cant be beat.

I guess as long as its an air tight fix youll be OK but if it leaks air that could be a real pain in the ass. You'll have one cylinder running leaner then the other. But thats your call
-
I say just paint them I agree that powder coat is overrated it looks kick ass but it chips easy and then its a real pain in the ass to fix. If your a duner then OK but personally I'm a trail and woods rider so in my opinion I would be pulling it apart and fixing it way to often. Paint it and forget it and then pick up a set of a arm guards and then problem solved. Rhinolining is OK also but its hold dirt which makes it a pain in the ass to clean. You wont just be hosing it off it will need scrubbed.

I dont think thats gonna work but i could be wrong. If I was you I'd try to find a stock carb from someone on here. They're a dime a dozen and all you really need is the body of the carb.

Your tierods should be like 13 5/8". You can pick a set up on ebay for about $30 just look for +2 banshee tierods and you'll be set. Alf can also probably hook you up with some modquad ones pretty cheap, I picked mine up off ebay I got a set of LSR stainless steel ones for $40 NIB. -
I've been hunting about 17 years or so and I mainly do all bow hunting with a little rifle and muzzle loader. I also turkey hunt. If you do a search I believe bbcmudtruck took a real nice deer with a gun if I'm not mistaken and meat got a real nice 10 pointer on video. He didnt get a shot on it but he has it on video for a while like I said try doing a search they should be on here. Well hang in there and good luck next year and remember scentlock is your friend.

Heres some pics from earlier this year on a thread that I started Deer hunting

I totally understand thats what I did this winter. Good luck and post up some pics

Thats a good idea I wouldnt trust just anyone. I just got my topend back from Jeff @FAST and it looks great. I'm hoping to have my whole shee back together next week sometime.Oh and if your changing pipes and all that you should port before you try to jet only because as soon as you get the porting done you'll be rejetting again. So why do it twice unless its something that you like to do for shits and giggles
-
Im not saying that it should be polished but damn thats rough, to rough in my opinion. And I guess your telling me that the set of cylinders that I just got back from FAST aint going to be worth a shit then because they for sure look a lot smoother and cut more even then that. But who am I to say I just forked out the money and had a professional do it. Where all not as good as you I guess. Thanks Mopar1 at least someone else sees what I'm seeing But I guess thats 2 of us that just dont know.

Just pray you never flip your shee over because you'll be saying bye bye to that GPS -
If your just trail riding like most of us go for the 450 shocks they are a lot cheaper to find a replace if need be. I'll admit Elka is a far better shock but in my opinion not worth the money if your just trail riding. I have a buddy that has Elkas and I have 2009 450r Shocks and I really cant tell a difference between the two just trail riding or the whoops. As far as jumping I dont go real crazy but again not a problem.
-
By the looks of your pics if you send it out to a builder you didnt save yourself any money. If anything its gonna cost more. I'm sorry to say that but I just got my cylinders back from fast and everything is a smooth as a babys ass. By the looks of those intakes they look pretty rough
