I've never used silicone for anything just the copper washers that the head came with. I do use just a little vasoline on the orings to hold them in while I'm getting everything together.
Depending on how you would want to work it I might be willing to take the carbs and stock bowls and you could sell the billet bowls to kick. The only thing is I definitely don't want the intake.PM me with details if your interested
I believe it should be like 123 links but you should always get it a little long and get a chain breaker to make it perfect. If I was you I would give Jeff @ FAST a call 785-364-5325 he sells chain by the foot and I'm sure he'll know just what you need.
Wow third post and trying to sell a $10,500 harley on a banshee site. Good luck with that bro, Dont get me wrong I'm a harley owner myself but if I wanted to sell it I would post it on HDForums.com before I'd post it here. JMHO.
For now you'd be better off keeping the stockers. If you go and buy 28s now and 6 months from now you decide to go 4mil and port it, them 28s will only be a waste. If I was you I would spend the money on some other mod that will benefit you more now. I was ready to buy new 33s and decided to go 4mill first and just get 35s which will be enough carb for a long time. About a year ago I almost picked up some 28s also but decided to get some port work done instead and I'm super happy that I went that route instead. But whatever you do good luck with it and let us know whats up.
I'm running renthal bars with scott grips. These things are personal preference only and I'm sure you'll get a shit ton of different opinions on this, But just get what is comfy to you thats what matters most. Some people run honda bend bars which I believe mine are some run a yamaha bend and some people run other things. From what I've heard from a lot of people Fast Flex bars are the shit they are just very pricey.
X2 on cleaning and checking carbs, But more importantly do a compression check chances are it could need a top end rebuild. The leaking carb is most likely just a stuck float try tapping it with the handle of a screwdriver. And welcome to the one and only BHQ. Good luck with the shee and post up some pics.
I'm one more fro Jeff @ FAST he's the man and he'll get you hooked up the right way. His work is very clean and precise. He's done porting for me on my current setup and I'm trying to locate some stock bore and port cylinders so he can get my 4mil setup going. Here's a link to his site FAST Racing and his phone number is 785-364-5325. Good luck with the rebuild and welcome to the one and only BHQ.
Do a compression test and then call one of the sponsers like Jeff @ FAST maybe and he'll let you know what you are going to need. That would really be your best bet at least thats what I would do. Well I guess not I bite the bullet and run race gas. It sucks but it smells so good.
$7 a gallon here in Maryland. X2 on getting bigger domes it sucks but maybe you should of thought about this before buying it. You should pull the head off that thing anyway that way you would know what ya got. Because if its a stroker you'll need domes cut and that gets a little more pricey. But I'm sure Jeff @ FAST will hook ya right up.
Just picked up a few things from captainhowdie. I want to say that he got the stuff right out priority shipped it was packaged up real nice and the stuff looked pretty much new. I just picked up a 4mil crank from him today also.
