  1. That were i was going, being able to time the jumps and gear it right. Oh well, guess we'll just have to grip it and rip it huh.
  2. Do they let you run the hill before the actual start?
  3. I would just call Kevin. Probably end up around 310-320,
  4. Welcome to the joys of the stock chain adjustment.
  5. flip the bike on its side, put a block under the handle bars. Wont have to drain oil + its a whole lot easier to work on.
  6. Pretty sure i read in one of the posts above compression was 160. Sure 168 mains aren't way too big. What mods to you have?
  7. You need to just spend the 35 bucks on a plate and be done with it. If you want to mod your stocker, you need to elongate the holes to the left so you pate will rotate clockwise. 4.5mm - +4 degrees.
  8. i have used both of these on other projects. Ones the basic plastic, the other is probably more up your alley if your looking for something a little nicer. Sudco A&S
  9. if the problem stayed in the original cylinder and did not move over when the wires were swapped, i would start checking into the carbs. Clean everything out again. When you look into the carbs from the back, do both needles rise up all the way, if not see if one of the clips have come off. Good luck man - let us know what it is when you figure it out.
  10. I have stock cylinders, but like wacko, i have to space mine out a 1/2" to make them work.
  11. I would swap plug wires around and see if the issue followed the wire or remained on the same side. Plug caps are known to go bad creating weak spark, in which the issue intensifies at higher rpms.
  12. Hey T nothing available on CL for cheap huh? there are a couple places that rent paddles as well for a last resort. I would think that as many people that will be there, you should be able to borrow a set for a couple days.
  13. First of all welcome to the HQ. Second, whats your current jetting? Verify both carbs match. What oil and ratio are you mixing at?
  14. if their not coming apart you have to have something still secured to the top and bottom halves. Top bolts, bottom nuts, bearing stay, and timing plate as stated above, and she should split. Good luck -
  15. pretty sure 700 raptors are the same as the yfz, not the 660's though. Your best bet is to log on to yfzcentral, raptor forum, etc to find what you want at a good price.
  16. suck deal on the cylinders man, the orange really pops though, looking good.
  17. I am wanting a dark blue radiator cover to replace the one i have. Must be in great shape. Don't care about the insert part. Send me pics and pricing on what ya have. Thanks -
  18. I just went through the same thing a few weeks ago, actually found a machine/speed shop that sold it by the gallon for $6.80 compared to the $7.25 we were spending. The best thing to do is contact VP. They will give you contact info for their local distributor. The distributor will be able to give you information on retail locations.
  19. Na, it too easy just to split them. S-oregon and your first recommendation worked like a charm. Flipped it over and took the bottom off, transfered the tranny into the bottom half, secured the crank in the top half, and set the top half down. Piece of cake. Will test tonight
  20. I just installed one on my 2000. www.stylintrucks.com is the cheapest place I found them.
  21. I've used www.bikebandit.com before, as well as F.A.S.T.
  22. 100% sure its coming from the case halves. I noticed some fluid leaking, and my first thought was exhaust, but after further examination you can see it bubbling out in a very very small spot when it was hot. Its been fine since July09 when it was rebuilt. I did just change domes from 21's to 18's.
  23. I would ball park ya close to the 6 sec mark.
  24. You may be getting a good deal on the carbs, but does that include the intakes and filters/adapters you will need also? May be the same money to get some 28/30's that will probably be more suited to your bike and riding style, + bolt up to what you have.
  25. Removing the head and cylinders off is nothing, but if it was all the same whether you remove the top or bottom, I would prefer to remove the one that requires less tear down. But there again, Ryan said it can be a bit tricky putting it together. 6 in one hand 1/2 dozen in the other. Thanks for your guy's input.
