  1. id say if your looking for power i would first throw some vforce reeds on there 2s for more mid and the 3s more topend. new head either have yours milled or by a nice noss piece or something. i would do this before porting it and doing a 4 mill.
  2. Amsoil interceptor 40:1 it runs real good with it but you can def get away with 50:1 your call. i like to stay on the safe side
  3. do your bike a favor and go get the tors elimanator kit
  4. im pretty sure most of the guys running the coal hills are using vampires.
  5. does the new vs old style make a noticeable difference?
  6. shifting forks are junk. dont ride it anymore or youll just make it worse. did this to me on my blaster first one gear went than another and so on. i ended up ridin home down roads in 5th gear trying not to stop at stop signs. tear it apart and plan on dropping some doe
  7. It will take tall gearing maybe 15 36, a lot of hp, and a good rider. Personally i dont think this can be achieved in a 1000 ft on a banshee on the ice. maybe if you start back a lil before the ice drag you can do it though. if i were you id be thinking about some ice water skimming on that beast and leave the dragging for the sleds. http://home.earthlink.net/~gellett/banshee.htm pulling that 6th gear will be hard in 1000ft
  8. yeah they gulp up that gas real quick. i know on a day of riding around town and what not i come home and fill my tank again at least once. im always on the pipe to.
  9. well i run them on mine but i honestly dont think they do anything but get in the way when taking off the carbs with the stock airbox. my does seem to have more torque than my buddies but thats most likely in the pipes and vforce reeds
  10. looks good but would look better with either chrome/black a arms, chrome pipe (personally dont like black pipes) and some polished aluminum accents grab bar exc
  11. looks good man cant really do it where im at two much mud i dont feel like puttin a shower outside
  12. if you arent risking blowin the motor i would run it through the gears in reverse first just to see how it goes lol but def sounds like a timing issue
  13. haha thats kind of a hard question to answer if your not there to smell it for yourself. mix some of your gas into a weed wacker or something and smell that. you can start a fire and poor some antifreeze on it to see how it smells. But it sounds like it is just rich. what is your jetting elevation and gas mixture.
  14. sounds electrical to me to. run an ohm meter off all your electrical connections the clymer manual says what they should be within. also have you checked your reeds for cracks or chips?
  15. Mix in a lil extra oil and let her go through the gears. DONT LUG the motor. that is the worst thing to do. keep your rpms up and keep blipping the throttle. Do this anywhere from 5-10 times till its nice and warmed up and let her cool down enough so that you can place your hand on the cylinders and hold it there for at least 10 secs. dont be scared to give it some juice just dont wind it right out for a few runs on it. but the most important thing is not letting that motor lug
  16. You def should have gotten the yfz they rev higher and quicker than the 450rs. They also handles better but this has all been previously stated. And as far as the 450r winning everything, to my knowledge when the 450s came out the YFZ was ALWAYS the number 1 competitor. Every mag ive read since they have been out the honda has got whooped by the yfz.
  17. do a compression test on the cylinders you prob need some new rings. You dont need to replace the reeds unless they are cracked or chipped. They will usually chip on the corners
  18. It was the stator. We also through in a new cdi. Ran it with the stator and old cdi and was alright but not top notch. Put in the new cdi and ran better. So for future reference The stator was the problem. Thanks for the help
  19. the carbs have all been gone through but i can try it again tomorrow. Its a full drag bike custom frame with a peanut tank and aluminum tubing radiator. the whole bike with the wheelie bar weighs in at 226 wet just to give you an idea of what im dealing with. There is a fuel filter coming from the tank so im thinking it might be a little clogged also. its a 380 on stock cylinders with a pretty extensive port job, stroked not sure how long rod, running 110 vp fuel, with 34 or 35 pwk carbs and vf3 reeds. It also did it before the reeds were put in (thought that could have been the prob). i dont know if any of this is useful but i figured id say whats done. Im gonna try pulling the stator out of my bike tomorrow and trying that in it.
  20. A guy i know has a banshee and it just recently started having a sputter at the high rpm range 10,000 rpm approx. runs fine until that point. The thing is is that it doesnt do it all the time but close to it. You can stab the gas and right when it gets to the top of the rpms it sputters. Went through all the electrical and everything is reading OK. New cdi still does it. Were thinking possibly stator? If noone responds we will be trying another stator tomorrow anyways but he needs this bike for the Sunday race at sanford airport. last race of the season. Thanks for the help
  21. Atv drag races will be held Sunday Oct 11 at Sanford airport. People usually show up around 7 or 8 am i believe. Ill be there but not with the shee it is down right now but ill be in the pits prob with a black yamaha sweatshirt (if anyone cares lol) Whos going
