  1. Ummm, what exactly are you talking about?
  2. Heres some pics, i think he did well considering it was his first time on a clutch and there was 4 inches of snow in the yard. Hats off to the little guy!
  3. Thanks guys, I'm going to get him a helmet goggles and gloves today, still have about 4 inches of snow in ground so probally not the best day to learn but Ima scour around and see if I can find a nice place.
  4. Well Guys I ended up getting the 03 yz85. Talking about looking like it just came off floor! And for 750, I think I got a steal. Motor is still clean on it. Lol. I couldn't get it started at the guys house. He was a old timer, had the same gas in for 2 years! I just shook my head. He was wanting it to crank before I brought it home and I was like dude, it's nit gonna start on that gas so after a hour of kicking I just payed him and loaded it up. After I got home I stripped it lol. Took off tank and carb. Cleaned out tank with straight gas and blasted carb with cleaner, buttoned it back up and it fired on 2nd kick. Let it come to temp and hopped on it, took it for a "test" ride and damn, it's got some balls for a 85cc. Pulled a second gear weelie with me on it and I'm 195lbs. My lil man is 9 years old, 80lbs tops, but tall. Can just BARELY touch the ground on his tippy toes, I think it's a lil big for him honestly. I adjusted collars on rear shock to drop it a tad now he can hold it up better. Gonna buy him some gear today and attemp to teach him a clutch. He was used to his 50, any pointers????? Help!!! Lol
  5. Mark, that is one sick looking shee man! Nice colors, how many cc's??
  6. Ok, everything you said were positives lol, don't get him to nice of a bike?
  7. Thanks man! Found out its a YZ 85, my mistake they change to 85cc in 2002 i think.
  8. Thanks for the replys guys! after scouring craigslist i found a 2003 yz80 for $750 locally, im going to meet up with the guy when he gets off work. Said he bought it for the grandkids and it was to much for em, he said "this thing runs like the 125's did back in the 70's, I use too motorcross" and that it had a couple tanks of gas ran through it and has been sitting for 3 years. He did say he cranks it from time to time to keep it running. He said it needs a seal around the shifter, it drips oil. Do I have to split cases to fix that?
  9. I would say porting, then reeds. I added my vf3's reeds before my port and didnt notice anything much. Myabe a tad cripser throttle thats it. Basically to do it again that money wouldve went towards a port job from one of our sponsors. lol
  10. That's probally my issue then, the few times I've used maybe left a oily film on parts and reason why it wouldn't stick well. I mean it was as hard as a brick, just like it wouldn't stick to the cases. Would work for a few days then I'd notice a small leak, after I picked at it to inspect it flakes off. Hmmm. Mechanic error. Lol
  11. I was thinking the same, a little high for a 86 but he has over 1k in receipts, and only about 2 hours on it since he rebuilt it? Man I dunno. I gotta about 6 hundred to find him somthing. I don't hve a job at the moment or I could do more.
  12. He is 9. Had a 50 redcat quad, lmao pos, but he was 6 and outgrew it in 6 months. Said it wasn't fast enough. Actually broke the frame jumpin on it. Ohh it'll fly with him on it. He will love it just making sure there's nothing wrong with the price.
  13. My lil man has been wanting to tag along for years now and Ima take a plunge and get his something. he wants a dirtbike and I ran across a 1986 YZ80 that my buddy has for $500....new cylinder, head, pistons & rings, tires, brakes, plastics.... basically all new, just needs seat cover (its pink he built it for his lil girl) and a graphics kit, plastics are solid white. Is it worth it? i rode it tonight and for what it is, it runs great! What should I do, wait and try to find somthing newer??
  14. T Shee are them the same 28s you got from me a while back?
  15. Lmfao! That's good stuff! Hahah
  16. Hope u packed a lunch! I caught hell with mine too! Had to used a big punch and a BFH to knock it out. Lol
  17. Papsmurf - hmmm that's wierd, almost everytime I used it it never held up for long. I've tried to seal cracks in a 250r case I use to have and a 350x I had the chain came off and well u know the rest. The thing leaked oil like a sive and it didn't work on that either. Maybe I'm prepping surface wrong??? Lmao like I said my experience with it lmao
  18. First off AK your God lol..... Im guessing, stator..... Got any buddys with one they can let u borrow? Just to rule out? Im just going by what mine ended up being when I had your problem. It just went out and i didnt even unplug it, just moved it. It could be your keyswitch or killswitch as stated above.
  19. I usually premix 2-5gal jugs and leave em in truck.... I mean carrying oil is one thing but gas? where you gonna carry that?
  20. Man did I ever go through this same thing when I got my Banshee. I removed flywheel to put on a timing plate and *poof* stator went out. I would check your connections with a ohm meter, if I could dig up my thread I could tell you what readings you should be getting I cant remember off the top. Either your TORS or your stator. Disable ya TORS by the black box near rad, just unplug it and get back with us.
  21. Looks sweet! Let us know how it handles when you get some more saddle time!
  22. Im going to have to roll with "Fouled" on this one, there are some quick R's here too, running 4.3's-4.5's all day on race GAS. Its actually about 3 of them here that run good. Got my stock stroke drag ported ass handed to me consistently. But i have since 4milled it with a full drag port from Jeff and put on a 8 inch swinger, (i was stock length then) and Im adding drag pipes and possibly going to alky. But if I go alky Im going to have to spot them I think if its setup right you might have a problem. Just my opinion.
  23. Im going to be watching this thread close. I just put a +8 on mine as well and im having the same issue....rear shock is extremely soft and squats waaay to much... What can we do besides shelling out big $$$ for a shaw?
  24. Id be more worried of JB weld breaking loose and getting sucked into motor = a very bad day! That stuff from my experience doesnt adhere to well and tends to break loose under constant contact with oil/gas....
  25. I never once seen where he was calling Tim out. I honestly took it as a guy asking a question. If he did or didn't know better that's not the threads purpose. I'm just sayin. Ease up, play nice! As I've been told 50 times. Lol
