  1. Mofoka - so you have 13/44 with your 22"?? If you think it´s too short, try 14/43 with the same chain or 13/42 with new chain. I´m not 100% if you need a new chain but anyway... I have: 15/40 with my 18" asphalt tires (never used them but anyway) 14/41 with 20" holeshots and V-paddle Sand Sharks for MX/flat field and hill climbing 13/42 with 22" RazrII with 250 ice studs/tire in winter time. Ice tracks and MX. 13/42 is too short for my 20" but I could use a little shorter like 13/43-44 for my 22". My winter tires hooks so damn good and are kind of heavy. I also have 47T rear sprocket just in case that some day I will buy a set of 22" 10 paddle Haulers and longer swing but then I need a new chain. -Pasi S.
  2. Here is what I did. I did it with a set of needle files, 24 beers and 2 packs of smokes - http://www.graniteph.com/Uploaded/needle%20files.jpg -Pasi S.
  3. Like AKheathen said allready I meant the sprockets. I use stock gearing(14/41) with my 20" Holeshots and Shand sharks. I use 13/42 gearing with my 22" RazrII in winter time. Those works good for me. You can usually tell by the feeling when you need longer or shorter gearing. My vote goes also for a good suspension and A-arms. You can go a lot faster when the ground is not beating you up. -Pasi S.
  4. I think your power is good for now... just make sure that your jetting is good/close enough. Next time you need to rebuild it -> get a set of normal pistons and have it ported. New flat-slide carbs can´t hurt it but I´m not the one who can give you any advise about the "what size to get". I have used only stock carb´s when my motor was stock and after that I bought a set of uset 35 PWK´s. You can adjust them to give you a low end that you need but like I said I don´t know nothing between 26 stockers and 35 PWK´s. Focus on your suspension, handling, tires and gearing right now. That way you can use your power. -Pasi S.
  5. FUKKING AWESOME!!!!!!! Now I realy do know what I want to do with my Banshee!!! First I couldn´t believe that my Banshee could climb those hills, but my friend with a Kawi KFX700 told me to just DO IT! AND I DID! HELL YEAH!! I was scared and full of adrenaline and after a first climb I was feeling like a king! It was HOT day and I was running rich but it didn´t stop me(!!) mid range was so dab that I falled off the pipe every now and then... Next time will be better. -Pasi S.
  6. Is it fast enough? how about your suspension, gearing, tires? Is the jetting perfect? -Pasi S.
  7. Kiitos Loco! Awesome site with great people and omistaja on terävintä kärkeä!! May be a stupid question, but how can I be/ what does it take to be a premium member? and buy a BansheeHQ-hat or T-shirt? I want this site to be free for a long time. -LOL!! -Pasi S. sorry my bad finglish!
  8. LOL! Don´t take my statements too seriously. It´s my bad english that can make more detonation than my actual thoughts. My intend was -> It´s awesome that this site is free for us. It´s awesome that we have great builders and/or site sponsors and other professionals that can help me with my Banshee problems. I´m in that 90% with my wet ears! So I just love to read and learn more about Banshees. LOL! -Pasi S.
  9. Clean up the carbs and air-filter, put new plugs in and check the needle position. It should be in the midle. I had stock motor a year back and it was just fine with that kind of jetting. I´m 300-350 asl. Don´t be afraid to adjust your carbs... after all it´s fun and you will not blow your motor while you are testing it! Just use your common sence to how it feels. If it´s too rich -> lots of smoke, fouled plugs and can´t get the RPM´s up. If it´s lean -> hard to start, no smoke, no low end power, maybe screams up top with NO POWER! If you think it´s rich and don´t want to put smaller mains in -> just drill couple of 1" holes to the airbox lid. If it gets better drill some more and so on. On good tip: Warm the motor good, and while it´s standing and idles HIT the throttle as fast as you can to WOT! If there is SMOOOHHH sound (intake sound) and it wont rev up in that second you are lean on the mains. If it rattles long but can rev up you are rich. If you do that zero-wot-zero-wot and there is "snaps"´n´"pops" coming out of the pipe -> you are way too lean on the mains. You can do it! -Pasi S.
  10. OK thanks alf44! We have only 4 Banshees here in Finland and one of those is broken and too expensive to rebuild (611 Cheetah). So that makes three of them is running! I believe that you can´t take Finland as the most important marketing area! (lol!) I´ll let those other guys know that you have some.... So you will ship to Finland and accept PayPal?? -Pasi S.
  11. SLORYDER, try to understund what I´m trying to tell you here. Builders are site sponsors. Without them you don´t have the place to run your mouth - FREE. Buy a set of pipes from the site sponsor and you will have a place to ask what kind of jetting you will need. Buy a set of jets from the site sponsor and you will have a place to to ask how to use them. After you have done some serious busines with the site sponsors and you have experience with you banshee build you can help some other rookies with the same problems. They will buy some parts from the site sponsors and they can come back and ask the next question. -You see what I´m trying to tell here? Here is many people who can build and do some tricks to those banshee motors and also help us average Joes with our everyday problems to keep our Banshees going. That´s free for us and thanks to those site sponsors/builders. Porting is easy. Most of us can hold the tool and make it look nice... but how does it runs?? Sorry if this was OT but I went from the gas to ALKY tonight! LOL! -Pasi S.
  12. HAHAaa alf44! Against me is an older guy with more experience with quads and cimbing hills. He has a Honda 700 IRS with some paddles. I can´t beat him. And -yes- I do scare of doing this. -Pasi S. I will pin it but I think I can´t win it!
  13. I thought that the stock transfer duration with stock crank and gasket was closer to 125 or 126!?! I don´t know... -Pasi S.
  14. I´m not an expert here but what about lean pilot jet and/or wrong mixture screw settings? Hard to start and reving fast. Wrong slide in a wrong carb... Take a look at yout right side carb. Push the throttle and look if you can see the drilled dot behind the small window. If you can see it you have the right slide in the right carb. -Pasi S.
  15. I was riding it today about 50 miles and it´s working good. So! - clutch gasket is not "must have" thing but I will order one from the states. It´s mutch cheaper in the US of A. ...and to mercury65. You don´t have to be sorry - . I do speak english and try to type some over here. You can use short or long hands and spell as you like. I can handle it!! Tätä kutsutaan kansainvälistymiseksi! -Pasi S. (sorry my english)
  16. OK thanks! I´ll try some shorter hills first with my second gear and see how my powerband holds. I won´t lower it -OK! LOL! I´m in Finland and all those +something swingers are over there in the states. I would like to have +6 right now and some 22x10x8 10 paddle Haulers on 8x8 Blues with 13/4? gearing. Thanks! -Pasi S. Anything else? this sounds easy!?
  17. I´m going to climb hills for the very first time in my life. I have stock frame, -swinger and -gearing(14/41). I have 20x11x10 8 V-paddle sand sharks with Douglas Black labels. Other mods are in my signature. Front tires are stock Dunlops. Do you think that my gearing is OK or do you think that I should gear it a little lower - like 13/42? In the flat ground with my 20" Holeshots and 14/41 gearing it just rips but I honestly can´t compare it to any other sport quad (no friends -LOL!). Do you think I should lower it down? I have lowering kit but I haven´t installed it yet. I have also 2" wide Durablue spacers for my rear but now I´m running a stock rear axle with stock Yamaha rear rims. So, do you think it´s wise to wide it 4"? How about front rims? they are 2+3 offset. Should I flip them over? I don´t have any other questions but if you have "good tips", "must do´s" and things like that it would be great. Here is couple of vid´s about the hills. "They" told me that those Pälkäne-hills are very steep and not for rookies. (I don´t know) -Pasi S. (sorry my english)
  18. I put it back together with the black-oilproof-motor-sealant-I think it´s like RTV- silicon-something like that-thing! LOL! It holds the oil in, so that´s enough for me. Went for the test ride with it yesterday and it´s good. Gears and clutch is working like new. -Pasi S. (I can understund 99% of your english! 1% is when it "bogs" or "back fires"... HA ha!)
  19. OK! I found a good picture about new clutch gasket. I can´t see why I can not use motor-sealant for replacing it. I called some local shops and they do not have new gasket for me. -Pasi S.
  20. OK thanks guys! Yes -the RZ 350 and RD 350 31K 1983-> models are water cooled (RZ USA and Japan, RD Europe). I´ll try to find a new gasket. I know that they are sheap, but hard to find from anywhere near me. If I can´t find it today I will but it back together with motor-sealant and look how it works. The reason for this question was that I was thinking if the gasket holds the oil a little longer with the clutch when I´m turning to left. The gasket is so funky looking. ( hope you understund what I´m trying to tell here - HEH!) -Pasi S.
  21. I´m replacing my clutch to my RZ 350 street bike and my OEM gasket was cut in several pieces. I don´t have new one so can I replace it with "motor sealant" or something like that?? May sound stupid question but I need to know. Thank you. -Pasi S.
  22. I have to tell you this - double check with another tester before you do anything expencive. This is what happened to me 1 year ago. I ordered my first mods for my banshee and after that I was thinking what was my compression. I bought a tester and it showed 55 and 65, I was like WTF?! I went with my tester to a local shop that maintain 2 stroke bikes. They compared it to one of them testers and said that my tester was NO GOOD and I should return it back - so I did. I bought another one and it showed 110 and 115. I was thinking that thats the way it should be but it´s low. I called to a good friend of mine and he told me that it might be a good time to bore it and also to make a port job and shave my stock head at the same time. After a long research and studing of porting and waiting my parts I was finaly done - 8 months later!!! My motor was back together and everything was good so I finaly go to break it in. After a good break in I was thrilled! Sounds great and stuf like that. Next thing was to check how high was my new compression... 125 and almost 125!!!! HELL YEAH! THE SECOND TESTER WAS LEAKING! - Now my motor runs great but I did all that shit because of my bad tester. DOUBLE CHECK - before you put your Visa on-line! -Pasi S. (sorry my bad english) ...OH! and I went from the bone stock to mods in my sig. LOL!
  23. I´m not an expert but... I think you are too rich on your jets. That´s why it won´t make any rpm´s. Clean up your filters and put in new spark plugs and it´s also a good thing to clean your carbs also. Then I would go a smaller size pilots and mains. I have ported stock cylinedrs and I have 35.5 PWK´s. 40-42 pilot and 152-155 mains, needle in the midle and 1.25-1.5 turns out. -Pasi S.
  24. HAHAAA!!! Don´t cut! This is something that most of the users can´t handle: 23" fronts 22" rears and uncut plastics. -Pasi S.
  25. I´m sorry but I realy don´t know how to say this in english, but... ...This is the best I can tell. -LOL! -Pasi S.
