  1. I was just wondering what is the lowest temperature that you have been riding with your Banshee? Yesterday was my first ATV meeting after a long time. My last ride was 8 months ago - last summer. Anyway the temperature was -23.5*C and I think it´s like -10 or -11*F. The weather was very windy and crispy. I was riding almost 2 hours and were out there over 5 hours with out the chance to go inside. Damn that was cold. The biggest problem was my fingers and my toes.
  2. I think that you are way too lean. My Banshee was stock last winter and when the temperature went down to -15*C I have to put 240 mains and use the lid with snorkel. Stock pilot, 1 turn out and needle in center. If you ride even below that -15*C I think it wise to use even bigger mains, 250 or something like that. -Pasi S.
  3. I think I have a solution for you. You are living in England?! There are many builders for Yamaha RD/RZ 350 streetbike in England. They know how to fix your engine. I also think that there is huge amount of used parts that fits to your engine. Find a local forum for those street bikes. -Pasi S. like this one.. http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/forum/
  4. Cam is a great guy! He is very helpfull and the one that I can trust. I have bought some used stuff from him and the price and condition of the parts were great. -Pasi S.
  5. I have test drive my friends YFZ 450, LT-450R and Raptor 700. -Yes! They are way better in tight turns and jumps. But I feel mutch better on my Banshee. I have adjust the handebars and suspension for me. I think if someone takes it really seriously, the Banshee can be build up for serious low mid power and good handling.
  6. I know what you are talking about Snopczynski. Your Banshee is a good example of how to do it. My Banshee will be more focuced on the mid-top end power. I´m not and don´t wanna be good on the MX tracks. -Pasi S.
  7. Well I´m not looking a MX set up. I´m riding on MX tracks not because I want to but those are basicly only legal places to ride. When my bike was stock (motor wise) i could keep up my friends 4 strokes. One of my special friend has convince me that the Banshee is not for a low end stuff and I do believe him. -Pasi S.
  8. Look the 4-sale section every now and then. I found my used T5´s there 225,- and they were in good shape. There is sometimes pipe sets even under 200,- You can shave your stock head to give more compression. You can modify your stock timing plate to give that +4 timing. I bought the Chariot timing plate because it was nice looking and the price wasn´t bad only 49,-.
  9. Oh! That must be it! Thanks for the info. I have been reding this site everyday for over an year now. Still there is thousand things that I can´t translate -LOL! -Pasi S.
  10. I really don´t know and I have never ask it from nobody. That´s why I used the words like "I´m definitely not an expert here " and "...how about Twister-block?" and "...I don´t know but maybe there is a chance" and "...to port them to give a little more to down low??" Maybe I have understood it incorrectly. I have read that when comparing CUBs and Twisters, the CUB will make more power when out of box. They say that you need to work more with Twisters and I undestund that means porting. When you have to port something to give more power, that means you have to work with the shapes, sizes, angles and durations. If you have to do this that means that there might be a chance to have a tad more down low and lose some from top. Maybe it´s my English-Finnish-English-Finnish with all the understanding. Can someone tell what aftermarket cylinders will work in MX and Trails?? -Pasi S.
  11. I´m definitely not an expert here but how about Twister-block? I have heard that they are not in drag durations when out of box. I don´t know but maybe there is a chance to port them to give a little more to down low?? I´m thinking that those Twisters are going to be my choice to replace my stockers when ever I need to buy a set of aftermarkets. How about 10 mill stock cyl´s?? -Pasi S.
  12. Very good topic! This is the one I´m going to follow closely. I´m going to use 35.5 PWK´s in my motor, don´t know yet how they will perform. -Pasi S.
  13. OK!! OK!! I know now. Like I told you, I won´t use anyone else but well known builders after all of this. Dirtparts replyed my message and they told me that they will replace my piston after I send it back to them. It will take much time and I don´t have it. If I have to pay the shipping to USA and them back to Finland, it´s easyer and faster to buy a new piston here from Finland. The price is 170$/1 (123€). I have also discussed about this situation with Wiseco Europe and Duell Finland. Duell has one piston here in Finland. I will tell you how it goes. I also told to Wiseco Europe that I can always buy that piston here from Finland and pay for it. Then I will get that inaccurate piston back to the shop and demand my money back! Easy! but I don´t wan´t to do that. -Pasi S.
  14. The Wiseco-USA replyed me and told me to contact the dealers here in Finland. There was a nice list of them in that Email. I have done that and I think I´ll have some replyes tomorrow or friday. I Emailed back to Wiseco-USA and told them about that wrong info I gave them first. Today the Wiseco-Europe contact me and now we will see what kind of customer service they have. The Dirtparts have not give me any replys about this. That was the place where I bought them. One thing is for sure - From now on I will only use a site sponsors to get the parts I need. -Pasi S. ...I will not use that inaccurate piston.
  15. I´m sorry! The information in my first post is not correct. I went to this shop today to see what is going on... The piston skirt is not larger - it is smaller! (0.04mm) The owner told me that the machinist said that he wont use that piston unless I order him to do it. If I do so, they will not give me any guarantee for it. They say that there is going to be huge "clapping" in that cylinder. -Pasi S.
  16. Here is what I did. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=120479&st=0&p=1047092&fromsearch=1entry1047092
  17. Long story short... They called me from the shop I´m using to bore and hone my cylinders. The guy said that one of the pistons is bad/ruined/useless. When they were making the measurments for clearance and things like that (hard to translate), they found out that the skirt of the piston is larger than the top of the piston. They said that the other piston was OK and good to go. They told me to get a new piston ASAP to make that final measurments. WTF?!?!?!?! I have been reading this site one year now and I thought that the Wiseco-pistons were the best. I emailed to the shop (Ebay, USA)where I bought them and I also Emailed to Wiseco if they have something to say about this. I just want to know if somebody have had a same or similar problem. -And if you have good tips to get this thig right -please- let me know. Thanks! -Pasi S.
  18. I´m using Maxxis Razr 2 with ice spikes (?) 23/7-10 front and 22/11-9 rear. I think they are good. here is the pic of my front tires. the rear tires were not ready in that pic.
  19. What I have understund the VF3´s are for mid-top end power. I would go with CarbonTech low -reeds with ported stock reed cages.
  20. If the motor in that pipe test (above) would have been a 421 CUB. What would be the power difference between T6 an Shearer? More or the same power difference. Thanks! -Pasi S.
  21. OK good! Ofcource we will pay for shipping. I was asking it because some of you US guys don´t want to ship over seas. What is the price with out shipping? Send the price in PM if you want. Thanks! -Pasi S.
  22. Do you still have those Shearers?? Picks to -> [email protected] If you do have them.. I will show them to my friend who is looking for some top end pipes for his 421 Cub. Will you ship them to FInland?? Thanks! Pasi S.
  23. OK. I´m asking this for my friend. He has un ported 421 Cub with 34PJ´s, VF3, pod´s, coolhead, stock timing plate and T6 pipes. I don´t know the compression, but he needs to use 110 race fuel. He likes to ride open and fast trails, hill climbing and 1/8 on asphalt just for fun. If I remember right he has +2 swinger and 17/38 gearing. What I would like to know is whitch pipes are best for him for that kind of riding? I was thinking CPI´s (sb-if) and +4 timing .. but I would like to hear your opinion about this. Also if someone can tell the power difference between T6 and CPI. Thanks! -Pasi S.
  24. This is what I did. I use CarbonTech Hi -reeds. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=120479&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1
  25. Two weeks only!? I´m so ... I didn´t contakt to Kevin or Jeff. I was reading that 3-4 months here somewhere. Now I´m so angry to myself. Well... everybody makes mistakes. I´ll have to check from Kevin or Jeff next time.
