Are you sure that your main jets are not too small? - just asking. If it´s lean it can rev but there is no power to pull it. But I think that you allready know this.

Here is my street bike and I love it! Only mod´s are 18 1" holes in a stock air box lid, and my stock Banshee carb´s. Also I have to re-fab the silencer tubes. 15/41 gearing. It´s a 1983 Yamaha RD350 LCII (31K) YPVS

Do it yourself. After that first time you know that it wasn´t so hard. Clean up your bike and let it dry before you do it. Buy a carb-cleaner so that you can clean those carbs perfectly. This way you won´t get your hands dirty and you can focus what you are doing not how dirty your fingers are! -LOL! Learn how to do it! -Pasi S.

I run 21x7-10 Dunlop fronts and 20x11-9 ITP holeshot rears in summer time, and 23x7-10 and 22x11-9 Maxxis RazrII´s in winter time. Gearing with those 20´s is stock 14/41 and with those 22"´s 13/42. I like them both. RazrII´s hook better than those ITP´s IMO. If I were you I would go with 21x7-10 fronts and 20x11-9 rears if you don´t need extra ground clearance. -What else you want to know? -Pasi S.

I´m not an expert here and I realy didn´t get what you were asking (hard to translate-lol) but... Stock needles in stock carbs usually works ok. When you make some mod´s to your engine it needs more fuel in different ranges. When you find hard to get your jetting right the problem can be your needles. You can change a needle in an aftermarket or a stock carb if you like as long as the needle is ment to be in that carb. Only thing you have to know is what is your current needle and what part of the needle is not good for your air/fuel ratio. So yes! you can put an aftermarket needle to your aftermarket carb if you like. Carb´s can´t read so they will not know if it´s a Toomey or Alba needle. Ignore all of this if it doesn´t make any sense! Just trying to help. -Pasi S.

Just came back from the local shop. I bought a set of 150´s and 145´s. They didn´t have those 148´s. Also the smallest pilots was 40 witch I already have. Now it´s time to clean my filters and carb´s and see how it goes... -Pasi S.

I´m not an expert - but I´am 100% sure that you can´t hurt your motor just doing one plug test with those 162´s. If those 162´s are too lean you can tell it before you even try to do your test run. When you find out your "perfect" jetting you can go up 1 or 2 size that you can have your peace of mind. When you find out the "good" jetting you can see alot more power. I have 35.5 PWK´s and I have 40 pilot (still rich), needle in the midle and 152 main (still rich). And these settings with 83*F and 300-330ft ASL. Because it will be hot for a long time I will get smaller mains (148,150) and 38 pilots. -Pasi S. (sorry my finglish)
