  1. ya sounds good 152 mains 50 or 48 pilots should get you close probably 48-150's
  2. ya any exposed filter I would run an outerwear unless it it is for like a 300ft or strickly draging
  3. ok how about this what kind of riding do you do? the pipes and the carbs play a big role in this if its alot of trail riding and not alot of straight aways and drag situations, the 2into1 is nice for that but it focues on low to mid response so a good mid to low pipe would be good the fmf's would work good on this setup but its all what you like the toomey's will give you a higher redline a peakey power
  4. I think your screwed man lectrons are the only carbs you can switch back to gas I think once the work is done its done
  5. I think they are all the same I know im running 08's and they are the same
  6. keep us informed on what it turns out to be I have been down the same road you are going down right now I got fed up with the same thing and since then have replaced everything except the crank! did you ever replace the wrist pin bearings when doing the top end?
  7. I think a good starting point would be a 50-52 pilot and a 155 main im at 1100ft and around the same temps it might be a bit rich but better than melting down the top end
  8. if you are planning on making that kind of power you should just sell the bike and start out getting some mattoon cases and start there. Its posible to make that kind of power but if your on a budget its goingto take awhile if money if no object shit go for it make all of us proud
  9. the hemi head that I had there where 5 important ones. one to go around the outside grouve (the big one) two that where the outer cylinder seals (the next size down) and two for the domes (the smallest of the large Orings) the rest are water jacket seals and the realy small ones are supposeto go over the studs I never used them it doesnt make a difference hope this helps
  10. the Clymer manual recomendes mix fuel at like 20:1 or a bit higher for the first couple heat cycles to let everything lube up nice then after that drain the tank and do what your goingto do on what you normally run the high RPM break in is a normal race motor break in to set the rings and seal the top end up if its a drag bike you could do this but if its a play bike break it in slow and always retorque the head and studs just as insuance
  11. try the wax trick I was skeptical about it so I only did a few studs the ones I put wax on came out the ones I didnt broke off inside the case I also put a torch to all of them the ones with wax where easier the ones without I maybe got a turn out of them then snapped off
  12. ive used permatex motoseal and it works great
  13. you might want to put up some feedback maybe ebay or other people that you have done buisness with before it helps
  14. I had a simular problem like this in the past the cylinders had been decked down and one sat lower than the other they had just been machined and didnt think anything about the height being different well sortly after firing it up it sprayed coolant all over poped the head off and the dome rings where burnt to shit. I would measure the cylinders and see if they are the same could be warped? I dont know but that is my expieriance with the prob
  15. hey man I have some 9 paddle extremes on 9" douglas blue lables if you wanna do some swapin
  16. I have a good bottom case for you pm for details
  17. have you taken the clutch cover off yet? I had somthing simular and it turned out to be the kicker shaft gear. the circlip poped off the gear in between the kicker and the basket and the idler gear was grinding down the rivets on the clutch basket
  18. where did you buy it from? sounds like the jetting is a lil off ya when you are running those pipes the bottom end isnt there as much as other pipes like a set of fmf or mid pipes cpi's kick in the top rpm's hard check out your jetting? what carbs, cylinders, port work has been dome to it? also gearing in the sprokets are you running paddles? how many
  19. what are you looking for in trades
  20. bump for a great seller you wont be disapointed
  21. its hard to tell from the pics but they arent worked over very much the intakes look like they have been smoothed out a lil bit the transfers dont look like much is done to them I would ask him for more pics of them if you are serious about them he could just be trying to get some extra cash out of a stock set of cylinders
  22. bump
  23. you shouls post up a pic of the gaskets you are using a normall stock gasket is .020 thickness they also make .010 and .030 gaskets what it sounds like is the previous owner got the motor too hot and warped a cylinder then had the tops or bottoms decked down to make it flat again so if that is the case this makes alot of sence why you are having so many problems
  24. I got a chain off him it showed up really fast and in great shape thanks
