  1. start by replcing the plug caps, they do go out. inspect/ohm the wire, it may be fine, if you just trim a little of. anout 1/4" should be good
  2. oh, damnit, just take pics of the hole and bend already...\
  3. ok, i'm ready for your nutz.....shoot me a pm.....how's the bolt kits coming?
  4. if the deal falls through, i'll take that pump cover for sure.......can't afford the trans right now, though
  5. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=125828 the guy in this thread may be willing to do a strait across trade for your fmf silencers. he is looking for that sound. his will need a repack. just a thaught..
  6. down 1.5-2mm to match the piston, yah, but up 2mm-it doesn't work like that. you set them at the desired degree of durration, so you can get like .5mmon the transfers, and 2.4mm on the exhaust, for example...just what ever matches durration to run right
  7. speaking of builder, that's who you should really talk to. whoever is going to port it is going to need to know what kind of ridding, and what kind of power you need, and will need to know all the other mods, and/or suggest what will run best with the porting, including pipes, reeds, carbs, etc, you can get ideas on how the different bolt-ons will perform, but ultimately, the builder will know best how/what will work together best for you. as for my suggestions, get your head rechambered for the stroke to the size the builder suggests. pro citrcuits will be awesome with a woods/trail port, boysen reeds, and 28-30mm carbs. and, i would also suggest wildcard as my favorite builder, but you should check out the different builders on the site and pick the one you like.
  8. i don't see what you are talking about "hitting". piston slap is where the piston crown taps the dome. are you talking about the scraping on the sides? that's probably a combination of dry starts, dirt/dust, and likely either starting. also, not warmming it up before riding hard can scrub the walls like that.
  9. what are the temps, and what air filter setup you have?
  10. that 2-1 filter is a pod setup, right? either way, that 320 sounds like a good starting point for winter. if you plan on doing all these stages, i would suggest buying the ebay jet "kit" which contains every main size from 210-390 for like 30 bucks. you are going to want to pick up 27.5 pilots. on a side note- would you be willing to trade/sell those pro-circuit silencers, i need some, but i don't have the money for new replacements. i'm running my fmf silencers on them right now.
  11. a ported stock stroke will make more power than a stroker with a spacer plate. not porting really short-circuits alot of power, and restricts some flow, basically.
  12. 'eh........these bikes can handle a bit of that......only a motor ready to let go would have a problem......now the cold start in this one could be an issue.....
  13. here's a thaught.....have you installed the silencer? springs do wear out, but the stinger will really help.
  14. what the fuck, dude? you deserve to get about 6-800 total back in refund. i'm asuming he sent it after the first box was recieved. that's really messed up, and that case has been repaired, and may be useable, but the stator will be exposed, and it will not hold a billet cover securely, aside from being ugly ass shit. those plastics and grill may be able to be stripped ok, or may be damaged in the process. make a list of what exactly you baught, a list of what was missing, a list of what was damaged/unuseable, and what is good and present
  15. actually there's a bit more to getting a plug chop done. and you really only need to do it for confirmation or having troubles on which way to go. you should read the stickies in the jetting section, which describes both
  16. well, if that is really the case, then i would have to say you are at least 1-2 sizes or clips rich on the jetting. gutting the silencers does call for a bit more fuel, and you will lose power mostly in the low-mid. adversely, running rich will also dull the tone out. do as i suggested about the packing, mabey look at the shortening thread, clean your air filter, and get the jetting right.
  17. well, it would have to be a decent sized hole, and then it could cause an imballence, and change the jetting. it's likely another issue, lke plugged jetting, fouled plug/no spark...
  18. yup, that's a cast wsm replacement, and it was coated, too. i don't think that was the wsm, or swaintech coating. the look of the crown could either be ceramic, or someone hit it with the wire wheel.
  19. what i'm getting at is that it is uneven pressure on the piston when it's at it's most strain. think of it like this- put a donut spare on a truck with 35's and go muddin.........it won't handle verry good, or make it as far......aside from that, the uneven squish will effect the burn and may increase spark blow-out
  20. ...........i fail to see the problem.........
  21. ok, i see it now. couldn't really tell from the angle/lighting
  22. try the tighest, firmest packing for the fmf silencers, and it will ba smoother and healthy. you will gain a bit of power, too. i think you would be happy how toomeys sound, though
  23. yes, make sure the pipe is seated all the way up against the cylinder
  24. no problem. make sure you have it jetted right now
  25. well, it will probably be between dune and drag somewhere. another thing i don't like about them is that it throws the squish band off, and only on one side. this could end up being a really bad thing, especially as the bore wears and piston rock really increases
