  1. another thing- did you put on pipes/ air filter setup on? if so, did you jet right for the change? you can burn a valve. check your plug gapping. check good blue spark while cranking and your chain.
  2. they just rotted away from moisture. every time they get hot, it leaves the unprotected metal to rust from condensation when it cools off.
  3. it's not so much that you loose compression, as that the air is thinner, and the fuel atomises easier, having less oxygen in the mix. you will loose some power, but you need to jet for it. the fuel that you buy up there will varry on how it atomizes, so check your plugs to see which way to go. generally, you go leaner, so if the plugs are pretty black, do so. if you plugs are white or lighter than chocolate brown, go richer. when it starts to run better at wot, do a proper plug chop to tell you where the jets should be. then adjust your airscrews and, if needed, the needles. the loss of compression will loose you a little power, but it'll stillo run good when jetted right.
  4. swap the plug wires and see if it changes sides. then, clean your carbs out real good, one at a time. check your reeds while your in there. sounds like a broken reed, plugged jet or plug cap.
  5. first, check for airleaks. if you can't find any, tear the carbs down, and clean them. mine seems to do that when there is moisture in the carbs, but goes away after it dries out. made jetting in the rain a real pain.
  6. cool beans. that's been like 10-12 for me. goin nutz  thanx
  7. hehehe, he. i'm in the same boat here. i had to cut 3 or 4 inches off, but they slipped right on after that
  8. maybey i got the name wrong. it's the $16/quart synthetic shit. it was the best alternative i could get at the time.
  9. screw that, torco is the only oil that performs good in my elements, and does so verry well. smells good, too. i'm just pruterbed at the belray junk ruining my plans of doing +4 today.
  10. just need to proclaim my frustrated dissapointment. that's all. had to use the stuff for a ride last time while i ordered my torco, and i really don't like anything about it. leaves a nasty, tarry mess on everything, except where it just leaves carbon buildup..... now, it has separated in my tank, making me chase what i thaught was an airleak or blown o-ring/seal, because it's lean and running away  gonna waste about 10 gallons of fuel, and drain, flush, and refill with the good premix, then clean/repack my silencers, and wash the tar off my bike :: gonna order 5 gallons torco, and stick with it for listening FAIL!
  11. strap on some balls and enjoy the power. I SAID LOVE IT!!!!!!! j/k, as said, try out some pro-circuits, and lowend reeds, like boysen dual stage. bump the compression and advance the timing. all i've left to do for bolt-ons in that list is the timing, and it runs awesome in the woods/trails. next, you go into porting stroking, and powervalving, all only limited by how much you want to spend.
  12. it depends on what kind of power you want. you can even run different silencers for your fmf's. i personally love the pro-circuits, which offer 2 different silencers, but i also run some fmf's for some mid-top. i've heard good things about dmc's, and the ever-popular t5's. which fmf pipes do you have? what area do you want more power, rpm wise?
  13. well, that depends on what you need. if you don't have to worry about sound/forrestry compliance, go with the 304's
  14. it's a "he"? and you ride bareback? did you do tors removal? adjust the airscrews? check for leaks.
  15. becauseitshardtounderstandwhenyoudontusepunctuationtotellwhatyouaresayingbecause wecanthearyourvoicetotellhowyouaresayingit. if you don't retorque your head after a few heat cycles, the nuts will become loose, resulting in a blown head gasket. I had to do it twice.
  16. u ship the parts out yet?
  17. time to check your jetting, if you are getting hot enough to burn the exhaust couplers. those will also shoot exhaust out. sounds a little lean in the vid.
  18. next is soldier, and then captain. 800, then i don't remember the next level, but that doesn't matter as much as just having a good rep.
  19. ok, did you put that little vaccume tube back between the carbs after you cleaned them? shine a flashlight at the right of the carbs and you'll see little windows. if your slides are in correct, a little dot will appear in eah @ full throttle. did you need the choke to start it before? there is a little black box under the gas tank with a 3 wire pigtail coming off. make sure that's unplugged. lube your cable by dripping oil dowm it from the end when you remove it from the twist and work it in and out. look for pinches and kinks anywhere in the cable. (i chased that one trying to lube it for a while)
  20. keep going down, and run some new fuel if it's a little old. you don't need higher octane and will probably loose some power. try a 50/50 mix or less. airscrews wanting to be that far in means that you need to up the pilot. also, make all adjustments for the bike at operating temperature.
  21. no rubber, just aluminum, but no one has had a problem with it, and i believe the issue is gauranteed, but don't wanna put words in their mouth. much better design than ported stockkers, btw
  22. you are better off using toluene than xylene. did a bunch of research on this. both are aromatics, and thus, "dry" it is safe to go up to 40% aromatic total, and pump usually contains 20% aromatics, including toluene. 100% toluene found @ hardware stores $12 or less a gallon is prettu clean, vs. xylene, which is a "dirty" aeromatic. 0ver 40% and you need to start adding a compatible lube, like lead, or the lead substitutes to combat the dryness. if you love your banshee, though, just go and buy some av gas, which is properly formulated and held to higher federal standards than unregulated race fuels, or pump. btw, toluene has an R+M/2 octane rating of 114
  23. i'm running 25's on mine, but i think i need some 27.5's. gonna rebuild my silencers and then see what they want. it's about where the airscrews wanna run.
  24. well shit. looks like you have pipes too. bet it smokes alot. you're running good oil, have the mods and jetting, so you can go 32:1 or 40:1depending, then verify your main size is right with a proper plug chop. running less oil will give you more fuel. you can find how to do a proper plug chop by searching in the jetting section.
