  1. Thanks John I appreciate you lookin' Chris says his buddy's Banshee needs both of 'em though, I'll let you know if he wants the new ones you've got...
  2. Wow. Awesome job!!!
  3. 400rednEX nope he just needs the boots, tryin' to get them to Albuquerque before the weekend. If ya haven't talked to Chris yet let me know what it would cost to get 'em there Friday (UPS 2nd day or next day), I've got paypal or whatever and he'll pay me back. Good shape right?? No rips or dry rot cracks?
  4. That's a good price for new John, you have any good used ones laying around? Chris I don't see any in the For Sale forum, but I sent a couple PM's. Here's what's on ebay, depending on how long you want to wait, first one is at $16 now but there's 4 days left: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=200022932080 Here's another that's at $28 with 6 days left but you can buy it now for $36 shipped: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=170025677092 I'll keep lookin', anybody else have a set?
  5. Other than the fact that they are HUGE, nah no surprises. They'll outlwear Holeshot MX's by a wide margin, and you'll get lotsa ground clearance, the tradeoff is much higher gearing...
  6. Thanks Mike! Damn that dude is hard core; almost 18 hours straight :baseball_wassat: I'd really like to run the AVI 150, grrr I need a low sulfur diesel sponsor and swipe Chris's powerstroke...
  7. Sounds like a damn good time!! Congrats Denny  Wish I coulda seen it...
  8. Awesome. Congrats on the finish!! Sounds brutal...right on :baseball_sweat: Would they let you preride the course if you wanted to? What broke? How far were you from second place? When's the next race? Were there any Banshees there at all? (sorry had to ask heh) Have you had a chance to look at the quad and see if there's any frame cracks or hidden damage? Are all the teams 2 or 3 man? Any limit on riders on a team? Any ironmen at this race going it alone? Any guess on what percentage you were wide open and how much was tight & technical? Dustin, 'bout three grand split three ways ain't too bad...we get both Chris and Josh in and it'll be even less each, especially if it's closer...
  9. At least ya didn't sell out!!! She'll be waitin' for ya, trust me, shit like that happens to all of us but eventually you'll find the time...
  10. I poked around on Verizon's page for a while, looks cool, doesn't go into great detail though...I still think it can be done. Looks to me like it'll use the cell phone(?) and CDMA to access their broadband network at 400-700K; from there yes you should be able to share the connection between the laptop and the desktop using wi-fi. I'd double check with Verizon just to see if there's any interference issues (still not sure what frequency they are using, wi-fi 802.11b/g operates in the 2.4GHz band), then make sure you got enough ports for both their card and a wi-fi card on your laptop. I just took a wireless class heh. Anyway if that's all good then ya just need a wi-fi card for the desktop (PCI most common, again make sure you got a slot open). 802.11b and 802.11g are the two cheapest and most common wi-fi formats, most cards support both but make sure they are b, g, or both b & g (if I remember right b is 11Mbps and g is 54Mbps, either will work in your case since the internet connection is under 1Mbps...so if b stuff is cheaper go for that, if the same price get g). Once they are installed just network the two; with XP it's fairly painless using the network wizard, start with the laptop and tell it you are sharing the internet connection with the rest of the network, then set up the desktop with the same wizard and tell it that's where the internet connection is. Oh and given the choice go with WPA encryption instead of WEP, WPA2 if you're real concerned about privacy (although it'll come at a performance penalty). Bear in mind that b/g will encounter interference from 2.4GHz cordless phones and microwave ovens. Good luck!
  11. I agree, no splicing is involved, you can just disconnect everything at the connectors, although you also need to disconnect the TORS control box; it's bolted to a frame crossmember just above the left cylinder. If you're just eliminating the electrical part of the system, the huge boxy carb tops should still adjust your idle and carb synch with the knobs, but it's well worth getting the elimination kit like MagsDragon said.
  12. Damn tomorrow?! GOOD LUCK MAN!!! Hopefully in a year or two I'll be workin' my way up to a race that long, still want to to try a WORCS and BITD too...and still want to build Banshees with outlaw frames heh Take some pics and post 'em!!
  13. I think I know what you're askin'...you want to get the Verizon broadband on the laptop and use it anywhere, and when yer at home share the connection with the desktop so you can ditch the home connection, right?? Yes you oughta be able to do that, just use windoz networking between 'em and the ICS (internet connection sharing) that's built into XP; link them with Ethernet or wi-fi (is the Verizon deal 802.11a/b/g or something else?) and they can both use the single connection at once...
  14. Same here, Norton told me this when I accessed the forum this mornin', a worm: Details: Attempted Intrusion "HTTP MSIE CreateTextRange Code Exec" against your machine was detected and blocked. Intruder: stats.netcash.net.ru(63.246.159.3)(http(80)). Risk Level: High. Protocol: TCP. Attacked IP: WAREHOUSE(192.168.0.100). Attacked Port: 1036. Unfortunately if your antivirus isn't up to date and you're readin' this it's probably already too late... And then there's this CyberGate, Inc. crap that PeerGuardian detects incoming on port 1251 and destined for 207.36.47.186...Brooke is that a cookie or what?? I just got that program for Limewire downloads, kinda cool.
  15. ROFL!! Have a good one!!!
  16. Cool, good luck to him!
  17. There's not really any set guidelines, unless they have their own forms they want filled out (Works does that); I use a cover letter that pretty much says who you are, what you're doing, and how you'd like them to help. Along with the letter I send a racing resume, that lists races and results, with a few pictures. Then I send monthly updates with pics and a short writeup on the last race to all of the sponsors (Galfer requires that but I was doin' it anyway). Anyway if ya want to see some examples I can email 'em, he could also check out sponsorhouse.com, I haven't been there lately but last time I checked they had some good info...
  18. Welcome home PolyKarbon!
  19. Cool cool Polish
  20. I didn't think there was anything on the left side of the case where the clutch rod goes; the case is blocked off on that side and the rod goes through the transmission shaft. Is it leaking at the case halves seam? Or on the plastic blockoff plate on the shift drum? Other than that there's the two little freeze plugs for the shift rails, the countershaft seal (behind sprocket), and the shift shaft seal, which one is it??
  21. My son's Banshee is a squeaky fucker too, I'm gonna hafta tear it all down soon too. Mine made way more noise from the rear shock bearings, for some reason the seals were installed backwards. I did the same as dajogejr, cross-drilled the bolt & spacer, welded the head end shut and put a zerk on the threaded end of the bolt; works great.
  22. Stock ya got the small bypass line that goes from the head to a nipple on the top right of the radiator (right above the hose from the head). The overflow line below the radiator cap goes to the coolant bottle's lower nipple (or like firefighterjosh said ditch the bottle and run that hose straight downwards); the line from the bottle's upper nipple goes forward and points down somewhere in the vicinity of the right pipe expansion chamber. The vent line from the clutch cover goes to a tee (stock it's between the carbs); from the tee back the line goes to a nipple between the rear motor mounts, from the tee forward it just goes up and over a frame rail and points down.
  23. OMFG that is some funny shit, I can just picture the flaming mice and the hulk impression :yelrotflmao: Got a few of these from a buddy of mine heh, the heavy metal cats... I've never had a cat problem, although I've had my share of dumbass neighbors, domestic shit like that is a huge pain in the ass; you call the dog catcher and next thing ya know they are calling the cops about "loud" music, or the city about some obscure zoning ordinance you're violating or whatever...or you get a terrier to keep the cat at bay and they turn around and get a pit, etc. etc. Like some kind of bizarre, furry arms race that ultimately ends in a Mexican standoff... I dunno any easy solution, a friend mentioned freezing paintballs to off a neighbor's dog once heh, don't think he ever went through with it. Look at the bright side though, ya probably don't have a mouse problem or a buncha strays yowling at 2am with the neighbor's demon cat around. If they aren't gonna do anything about it, you're kinda stuck with either keeping the kittens indoors until they can fend for themselves, calling in animal control, or escalating to one of cat's natural enemies...or you could always trench a moat heh.
  24. LOL I wouldn't worry about that man, well unless you started posting in your sleep/delirious/dead-ass drunk...and made your sig ridiculously long heh. Hmmm back to the original subject, a Banshee motor would be a perfect candidate for a hybrid; one cylinder running on gas and the other on diesel...or starts on gas and runs on diesel, we've got an ooooold trencher at work that does that, Waukesha engine I think, crazy...
