Happy BDay txblueshee and icecold_shee!
BenBB replied to WALLACE84's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Damn all kindsa birthdays today, have a good one guys  -
Stock CDI, there isn't one; just a matter of how fast the motor can spin and still make power. Aftermarket pipes will make more power higher in the curve but then drop in power (you've seen dyno charts, pipe designs try to achieve different peaks and/or angles of the curve)...I'm sure there's a more technical explanation, like reaching a barrier somewhere in air velocity that's gonna keep you under 11 or 12k or so with this motor's port configuration, but as far as an electronic component that cuts the ignition above a certain RPM, there ain't one. BTW last time I looked at Dynas, when I got one, I don't remember any mention of increasing RPM's; on 4-chokes yes, they have 'em, but not Banshees...

Kids Grow Old Before Mom.. Don'tcha hate that!
BenBB replied to Rho's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Rho is it still for sale? Ya didn't do anything wrong, I'd like to see some pics too if you still have it; [email protected] -
I changed mine after seeing locogato's routing; from the top rear of the motor to the tee just behind the lower radiator hose on the clutch cover, one end down into the clutch cover and the other end forward in between the front right motor mount bolts; you can see where it points down just behind the nerf bar here:

Exactly...there is nothing worse than regret; alot of opportunities don't happen more than once, some good, some bad, but that's life. Rebel3190, at 16 you've got your whole life ahead of you, and almost limitless possibilities. I ain't gonna dig up any statistics but you've already outlived a shitload of people that don't make it that far. I think your padre is right, death is a part of life and ya know what, none of us get out of it alive; dwelling on it will get you nowhere. In my own opinion, being a man is about facing your fears head on, dealing with adversity and finding out who you really are... Ahh but what the hell do I know I smoke, drink, fuck, race a Banshee, eat red meat and listen to loud offensive music, and have a damn good time doin' it

That's cool you got a much better chance of findin' a good time in Cruces heh, El Paso ain't bad either but I wouldn't want to hang out there for too long. Last time I was in Juarez (waaaay back in the day) I saw a pair of snakeskin cowboy boots with the head mounted on the toe of the boots, bag one more of those babies and you'll be stylin'

Temp Gauge ,running tem,and fuel oil mix ratio
BenBB replied to Hummah2's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Mine typically runs 160-170F, anything over 200F is hot. I use 32:1, opinions vary as do oil formulations (like Amsoil that is made to be mixed at 50:1 or 100:1), some guys say more oil (lower ratio like 24:1) makes more power because the rings seal better, others contend that less oil (higher ratio; 40:1) means more fuel to burn... -
Hmm Deming's pretty small so I wouldn't expect much from the local watering holes, Cruces has alot more to offer, college town and growing exponentially. My grandfather's Glasair is hangered at Las Cruces Int'l, I've flown over a big-ass meteor crater sitting just SW of Cruces a few times. Yeah but it's a dry heat, well mostly heh. I lived there summers during high school, driving you could feel the humidity from the Rio Grande or some of the big orchards hitting you like a brick wall. Good times heh. Only gonna be 88-90 there next week though, not too bad...

Yes you can test the stator and coil, it's just a process of elimination; could be plugs, coil, stator, wiring, connectors, CDI, faulty switch...hard to tell from the symptoms but I'd start with the stator and go from there, the FAQ below should have everything you need to find the problem. Good luck.

:yelrotflmao: Happy Birthday to you too Brad!

I'm about 250 miles NE, give or take, but yeah expect triple digits during the daytime, the whole state has been getting hammered with rain lately, some flooding in nearby El Paso, TX (Fort Bliss, might be where you're operating from). There's not much of anything in Deming, small town on the Interstate in the middle of nowhere. Last time I was through that way they had "caution dust storm area" signs on the highway for miles before and after Deming. There's a tiny little town called Columbus straight south of Deming, right on the border, supposedly where Pancho Villa came across for some raids heh. Perfect place for some live-fire "exercises" if ya ask me...and I do love the sound of miniguns Come to think of it, they oughta skip the whole fence thing and just designate about a 10-mile swath of the border as a bombing/firing range...with warning signs in English of course

Dammit late like always heh, but have a good one anyway Denny!!!!
