Hahaha that's priceless!!! :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:

Yep it'll bolt right on. You'll want to block off the oil pump mount/drive hole though (notice the banshee clutch cover has a tranny vent nipple there).

Guns, cars, women...I love America  Hmm hobbies...racing the Banshee is a big enough money pit for me heh. Right now if I'm not wrenching or riding I'm working on my wedding & honeymoon (late June, gotta stock up on whipped cream, and finding just the right riding crop isn't as easy as you'd think lol), I'll play some games (most recently Joint Task Force on PC and Killzone:Liberation on the PSP). I'd still like to stuff a ZZ502 crate motor in my '01 Silverado...and get my hands on an FNH F2000 to blaze a few hundred rounds through...
-
Clymer is good, it's prolly helped all of us at one time or another. It may or may not tell ya some things like turning the gas off first heh, but just take your time and you'll be fine...
-
Chris I'm purty sure (like 99%) they will interchange with no problem, I've never heard otherwise. The only differences I saw were the tach drive and the oil pump; both can be blocked off...
-
Uhhh right now...the short list is about two grand, but I just shelled out $650 for six tires and two sets of YFZ a-arms...if I tallied up everything I wanted for mine & my son's Banshees it would easily exceed $20,000 (laeger frames, LT suspension, Cheetah pv's, etc. etc.). I reall wish I could fab my own frames and arms...that'd bring it down to $19,998 LOL!!!

Finally a Banshee won BlingStars QOTM on ATVRiders

Way to go Simon!!! -
Well I talked to Santo Derisi (nice dude), and for the long-travel mod and triple rate springs on a set of TRX450R shocks is gonna cost $450...not bad for a little over 10" of travel. Still lookin' though, I did find one set of YFZ a-arms so far
-
Hmm well I still haven't heard back from Derisi, but it looks like TRX450R stock front shocks are goin' pretty high on ebay; $150 to $250 on average (the only buy it now is like $275). Looks like Works offers a 450R triple rate LT shock that gives 12" of travel for $519 list. I gotta call those guys and see if I still get 50% off with sponsorship-if so I can get 'em brand new for $260...and have them put my finned rezzies on one set.
-
I couldn't find anything on Works' site, but here's a link for K&K...I didn't think it cost that much tho: K&K Works triple rate spring kit I emailed Derisi about just doing the fronts, can't quite tell from this page what the long travel mod would cost for the fronts: Derisi conversions No shit ya got a set?! What are ya plannin' on asking for them, say without the rods??

I'm gonna give this one a shot, thanks much Mullet Man and everyone else that's posted. I'm scouring ebay and all the YFZ and 450R forums I can find for: Two complete YFZ450 a-arm sets Two pairs TRX450R front shocks A pair of YFZ450 spindles (mmm aluminum, hopefully I won't break those heh, I'm on my second set of stock Banshee spindles) A pair of YFZ450 dual-piston front brake calipers A TRX450R front brake master cylinder (supposedly an improvement the YFZ guys go for) The plan is to replace my son's stock Banshee a-arms with YFZ450 a-arms, TRX450R front shocks, and use my old tie rods from my Ricky Stator +2 a-arms (I upgraded to Tusk Honda-style tie rods & ends on mine). Then on my Banshee, I'll replace my Ricky Stator + 2 a-arms with YFZ450's (mostly for the lighter aluminum uppers), compare stock TRX450R front shocks to my Banshee triple rate Works, and upgrade the entire front brake system with YFZ and 450R stuff. If I like the front shocks, there's a couple mods I can consider; Santo DeRisi claims to get another 2" of travel out of stock TRX450R shocks, and Works has a triple-rate spring kit that I hear makes a big difference. That along with the brake upgrades oughta make the front end a whole lot better... Finally I'm gonna try to put the stock Banshee a-arms and shocks on my daughter's Blaster (which already has a Banshee axle that puts it at +2). Throw the stock Blaster a-arms and shocks on Ebay, along with my Banshee +2 a-arms and maybe the Works triple rates here...damn I might be able to upgrade the suspension on three quads for under a grand I've got a lead on a local dude with a YFZ frontend, anybody else know of anything else available?? BTW hopefully the Banshee hubs, which are already aluminum, will fit the YFZ spindles, from the pics I've seen they look nearly identical and I wouldn't be surprised if they were, might even be the same part number I haven't looked yet. Which makes me wonder...after the front end is done, I'm gonna take a look at the back end. If I can make an '06 or newer stock YFZ450 swingarm fit (assuming I can find a cheap one), I might be able to make some big improvements there too, with the round housing setup and possibly a better linkage...

Holy SHEEP SHIT!!!! Nobody told me about those before!! I gotta find me one...
-
ROFL!!! The "for sale" sign is a nice touch haha!
-
There's also "backcut" gears, where you grind off 3 of the 6 engagement dogs...supposedly preventing the gears from "skipping" (where the engagement dogs ride each other instead of engaging) and missing a shift...
-
Dude...don't remind me lol! 20 Sucked for me too, not gonna bore ya with all the gory details but I gave up a lot of shit to do what I had to do. In the end, all that matters is doing what YOU want to do with your life; sometimes you gotta stop and take a look around and make your own call...you're the one that ultimately has to live with your decisions. Have no regrets and drive on...

Sings of a Stator going going gone
BenBB replied to Bansheeman1121's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
1. Intermittent spark (especially at idle...not really definitive tho could also be plugs, loose connector, bad ground, bad fuel, dirty air filter, etc. etc. etc.) 2. NO spark (again could be CDI, connector, wiring, etc., testing it with an ohmmeter when it decides not to work usually tells you if it is or isn't the stator, although that too can sometimes yield false readings) 3. No spark after kicking it over 5,000 times, screaming obscenities, and if yer reallllly lucky pushing it home -
This is the best pic I could find of the one I used for a while, it worked great. I think it was an Interstate CYTX12-BS, you might want to double check that group size/dimensions. Anyway it was just the right width to fit between the back of the airbox and those two little fins that stick up. I secured it with a rubber bungee cord (took off the two hooks and stuck a 1/4" x 1" or so bolt through the holes).

I'm sure ya know, a battery or eliminator (I've run both). Very fun project I've enjoyed mine...

Good posts, and about the obsolescence thing...kinda goes with the territory. Word on the street is that DirectX10 video cards will be the shit, but aren't out yet. Anyway like anything ya get what ya pay for, go for the best you can afford and upgrade when you can. I'd look at a core2duo E6400, 2Gb RAM, 1066Mhz FSB, and an nVidia 7000 series video card at the minimum. Newegg.com is an excellent source of info, whether or not you build it yourself, the user ratings and buyer's guide helped me out alot.

Stator problem, 93 banshee, help please
BenBB replied to losiguy's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
So the bolts bottoming out? Washers wouldn't hurt as long as the flywheel doesn't hit. But I'd also check the stator with an ohmmeter, and the pickup coil gap... -
Shfter busted, dumping oil, busted tranny?
BenBB replied to feedmelies's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I agree, pull the clutch cover and check the shift linkage; the claws may not be engaging the shift star. The leak may be unrelated-you could have just blown the countershaft seal... -
BTW happy new year everyone!!!

Just wondered if anyone's been usin' the HQ from a PSP...I just set up wireless @ home and tried it; fuggin' cool! A 'lil hard to type but oh well, I've been buried @ work and missed the 'ol HQ

Three fifty for essentailly all brand new stuff, hell yeah that's a deal. I noticed ya cornered the market over there in the suspension for sale forum heh, glad ya got the goods. After reading Mullet's conversion I'm all for trying it myself; first on my son's stock Banshee (and hopefully retrofitting all the stock Banshee stuff to my daughter's Blaster), then later maybe on my Banshee as well...damn sure can't beat the price, and availability of the goods...plus I broke both stock spindles on mine this year so I'm all over the 450's aluminum spindles and dual-piston calipers like stink on a monkey
