  1. 30 mm OKOs. they are D slides wich provide a very nice hit and open up to a great top end. They can be a pain to work on however.
  2. Evinrude makes a boat motor that not only makes more hp but puts out less emissions than any of its competitors. They have had them for a few years at least. I dont understand why that technology could not be adapted for other powerplants. Since we are on this subject...... I was thinking a while back with the fuel pries so high.... since oxygen is combustable, why couldnt an engine be made to run off pure O2? And dont give me this crap about it would never work. The chinese made a motor run off gun powder WAAAAY back. Just a thought
  3. Assuming you are modding a given topend, stroke will always create more hp than bore. At least on those variables alone. For example if you inrease the bore AND the compression you may see a bigger increase over stroke alone.
  4. bougth a banshee in pieces for 1200. built in from the frame up to this. Have about 4 grand total in it. Just bought another for 2 grand. near mint 92. So about 6k all together. Not bad onsidering I spend about the same in pot a year
  5. just grind the lobes down a bit so they look like ) instead of >. thats about it. makes it smoother for the roller to go over to the next gear.
  6. interested in picking these up. I weigh 185 and just ordered some +2 arms. will these work ok?
  7. Wickeds are on sale right now. $400 shipped for the chromoly.
  8. Heres some pics. First time showing the bike. I have the top and bottom ones spliced together somewhere but cant find it.
  9. definatlly going chromoly, but I need to figure out a way to protet them from the rough stuff. I ride hard and ya never know how ballsy I will be on any given day. I dont know....maybe I can fab up some guards myself. I like the way the Wickeds are built (all but the open bottom). I just know I am gonna get hung up alot with them. Anyone have guards on either sets?
  10. +2 +1 arms. I know this has been gone over a hundred times. Wicked Vs Fullflight. I know Fullflight has had problems in the past with heims. Are they any better now? Also they look to be more adjustable however I think that would cause more room for failure and I dont think I will need that much adjustability. I live in PA so there is some rough terrain and high brush/ect. They have a built on skid gusset where as the Wickeds dont. I also think I remember someone saying they used Armadillo guards on their Wickeds? Both are on sale right now so now would be a good time to get them just wanted some opinions/feedback. Also... I am running stock shocks for now but plan on getting a set of Works come spring/summer. I ride mostly trails, but on occasion hit up some small to meidium jumps. I know the Works will be fine, this is reffering to the arms. Thanks for any help.
  11. I have the cargo rack from PRM. That thing is tough. Very well made. Alum. is very wide. Welds are clean and look great.
  12. my brother told me about a guy at his shop is selling a banshee with white fenders and baby blue shroud and seat. Never saw that color before. Anone know what year it would be or have some pics?
  13. Since I got mine I have had zero issues with cramping. Got mine from Casscade. Looks bad ass and it is large enough you can use your whole hand to tromp on it when draging. It was damn expensive though. I saw a plain extension at a Cabelas once though. It was like 10 bucks. Universal application.
  14. Flotek does a trail port for around $300. Should be a little quicker in turn around seeing as though he is closer. You should be happy either way. If you think you need a refresh on the top end, now would be a good time.
  15. 2 pairs of jeans, 2 pair socks, hoodie, Carhart jacket.
  16. how is it in rough terrain? I guess you coould always run a taller front tire. I have been looking into doing the swap for the "other" banshee and if I could get it set up right, may consider it for my trail banshee. Oh....nice bike
  17. the arms will add about 2" wide and 1" forward (maybe it was 1/2") cant remember. The reason they are recommending aftermarket is: You need to modify the lower arms to fit. This requires cutting and adding a spacer. Not that hard to do. The front end will sit a little lower. This can be fixed by using different lenth shocks but not sure wich ones ( I am still confused on the complete swap also). The stock spindles will not allow full movement of the arms. 450 spindles can be swaped also. There is a ton of info on this, so much that it can be confusing. Do some searching and I hope this will help some also.
  18. +1
  19. nice thing about a banshee is you can set it up to suite your needs. Definatlly make sure you can stop for one. As for engine mods, the sky (and wallet) are the limit. Search through the info on this site for all the power adders that you are interested in. The drag forum would be a good start. For starters, I would modify your shift star and add a shift pro kit. These will help you get through the gears quicker and smoother. Another thing I do to win is shift under throttle. That is, I dont let off the throttle all the way when shifting. Usually when I grab another gear I am at half throttle when I release the clutch. This will vary on how well you are hooking up were you are racing. An extended swinger would be a good investment aswell, sounds like you want to build a strong motor. How long depends on how much power you are planning on building. I wouldnt go crazy on the front suspension. If you still plan on riding the roads, and if you need to hit a section of trails here and there, the stock suspension will sufice. Do ALOT of reading and ask questions on the stuff you are unsure of. There are alot of smart guys/girls on here and alot of smart asses too. In the end we are all here to help. Welcome to the HQ.
  20. you need to cut the outsides of the lower arms. the spacer goes on the other side. the top arm goes right in. if you look at his pic you can see where it needs cut (right next to the weld).
  21. holy shit I bet that thing is tipsy as all hell. Being from PA myself, I can tell you ground clearance is a big issue, but I would HATE to get that thing stuck in the mud.
  22. You want to blip the throttle if the nose is diving and shift your weight back. If you hit the brakes you will drop like a rock. Use all of your legs to stay on the bike. If you are standing use from your knees down to stay on. If you are sitting use your thighs. This goes for turning aswell as jumping. A good set of riding boots is a great investment.
  23. hey man that is awsome. keep up the good work. screw the riding benifets, thats all extra, the health benifets are much greater. Not to mention the extra attention you get from the ladies
  24. damn nothing on the east coast? Thats f'ed up. I would have at least though maybe the Carolina's. Hell they got sand.
