  1. My screw was tightened right...but I guess my bearing, or whatever you want to call the steel ball, from the rebuild kit didn't seat well. I did it all right, and used the grease and everything, but apparently I didn't do it right. I didn't have any problems installing it except for that bearing, so that's why I'm blaming it. EDIT- And I only went down 3 trails, all straight and open, and I took my truck down there and got out and walked around down 'em. Didn't find anything....
  2. Yeah, so my kick starter straight up rattled right off my bike! Lol. Just wondering if anyone has had theirs completely come off... A screw fell out of my plastics (I knew it was going to, because it was to small,) and I was riding when I saw one of those little flags with the metal wire. I stopped, got off the bike, grabbed the wire and wrapped it through there for a temporary fix while I was out (it was annoying me.) I went back to start it, and was like "Damn, I know I haven't rode this for about a month and a half...but I can't find my starter!" (You know how you know exactly where it is, so you don't really look, you just glance over the side for reference, and swing your foot around and kick it without looking.) Then I actually looked, and I was like WTF. Lol...anyone elses do this?
  3. I was wondering if I could get a hold of any Hoosiers or anything like that....I'm running Razr2 rears, and YFZ450 front tires...rims are stock...% tread I'll give you a pic and measurement, just wondering if anyone even wants a trade... I'm not entirely sure I even want to do it yet, but I was seeing if anyone would be interested.
  4. Go with T5s. Even if there's a chance you might port one day...which you're modding your bike, so you probably will want to port in the future. Everyone does eventually. You might as well take the DMC 916s off your list, they are no longer in production and you will be paying out the ass if you find any nice ones. Or you'll get some rusty ones.
  5. Where are you in South Florida? I had an idea you were from Florida somewhere with the mods and specs, and the temp lol!
  6. Even better, I saw a racing lawn more in the for sale section. Go with the Shee dude...what are you thinking.
  7. Good idea letting it jump to kill itself. Another easy way is pull the choke and let it flood itself. Have you done anything with jetting lately? Being way off in your jetting can cause this, especially if you don't know what air screws are. It could be an air leak like 278 said also, usually the carb boots. Let us know.
  8. Nevermind, I found a downloader/installer. No disc needed.
  9. Red Wings, that would look like hell... Just playing man. If that's your team, that sounds badass. Especially if you resell it there. Some rich guy that likes quads and Red Wings would love that shit. Just like the Gators edition trucks they sell down here.
  10. My CD/DVD drive is being wierd... It can run some discs fine, but others it won't. For example, I'm trying to install Guild Wars...it runs fine on Vista from what I heard. It loaded disc one fine, but on disc two it almost freezes my computer and says "Exception Processing Message" something something something. After I eject it, my computer returns to normal (not freezing) but the error won't leave until I reboot. There is nothing wrong with the disc, it's brand new...I used to play it on my XP computer, and was trying to load it on my laptop after not having it on my desktop for about 7 months now. I installed Direct X 10 also.
  11. My mom saw the episode and said something about it the other day. I ran a few things through google and haven't found anything yet...only that everyone thinks their driver "drives like a Banshee." lol
  12. It has all the data on the back of the tube. It should have a temperature rating on it, I think the normal Loctite is about 165*. I'm not sure how important it is, but I figured I wanted mine to be able to withstand the heat it'd be under. Use whatever you are comfortable with. According to Pro Designe, it's a range of "20-22 ft lbs." Like I said, I did 20, an hour ish of riding, then back up to 22.
  13. How do you like the bare metal pipes? Mine are bare metal right now, cause I sanded them down and was repainting them black. Do you just WD40 them when you're done riding?
  14. I think black would look awesome. That way it goes from black seat/grill, yellow plastics, black pipes and engine. But that's just MO.
  15. Seriously, this is Florida for fucks sake. I was on the beach last week, and scraping frost shit off my winshield this morning. And I"ll probably be back at the beach next week........lol. Oh yeah, checked it...72 today, back to 80 by Monday.
  16. Once I finish my degrees, we'll see where I'm at. I'll meet you guys out there one day....even if it is years from now.
  17. I honestly don't think they will make more than the VF3s. I'd put it mostly on a cost basis. Is cost an issue for you? If it is, you can port your stockers and get a decent gain (from what I felt.) If cost isn't an issue, or you already have a good amount of money in your bike, f*ck it, spend the money and do it right. I probably will upgrade to VF3s over the ported ones one day myself, but I have other things to buy first.
  18. Yep. I would probably tighten them to 20 ft lbs, then run it for an hour, and retorque them 21-22 ft lbs. At least retorque/check them after you ride it a bit... There was no measurement on the studs, just use Automotive Loctite that's good for like 300 something degrees? Don't use the regular Loctite. You can double nut them to put them in also if you have a problem. (Don't go to crazy though, like Loco said, the nuts will snug them more...just get 'em seated well.) Make sure the two longer ones go in the front.
  19. Light throttle areas? They have those?
  20. Hell yeah. I know someone on here could probably use it. I even might be able to, depending on what ya got. But you probably don't run a 4 mil longrod.
  21. Yeah, seriously. I pretty much had a full damn beard then, lol. The trick is to shave it to specification for its intended use...if you've ever seen "Waiting," then you know about the Abraham Lincoln. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hn1zWE0Zhag EDIT- And I was scrolling down the page, and it looked like your damn pipes were frozen, then I actually stopped and saw they were painted.
  22. Oh, I know what you're saying now. I was picturing you sticking a screw driver through the left hand side of the bike, from the outside, trying use a long ass screw driver to reach in there. I was like what the hell, just pop the seat off lol. It's easier just to use a short screw driver, but hey, whatever works man.
  23. Sounds like a great idea. I'm sure people could always use some more parts money (or hell, money in general with this economy.) People usually just post up "trade for parts, or buy outright." I get great deals on parts on here...I wouldn't mind seeing what other great deals I can reel in.
  24. The right carb has the air screws on the right side, and the left side carb has 'em on the left hand side... Putting one carb on backwards wouldn't work though...you wouldn't be able to put on the tube between them, and the inlet and outlets are different sizes (assuming yours are stock.)
