  1. I'm running stock ported ones I got off someone on here, and they are rough as hell! I never actually finished porting my stockers yet, need to go find a dremel kit. I got tired of using the file, LOL. But I have more time on my hands, so maybe I'll go finish them. Here's my plans: No cub (ruled that out for now, to much money, will do it in the future maybe.) I want: -4 mil 115 -Drag or Dune HJR port -17-19cc domes -Race fuel -Wheelie bar -Hoosiers, etc. -Carbs (Reccommend anything you see fit.) a) When I rebuild, what should I bore it out too (will be running 795 pistons.) What's the difference between big bore and small bore motor wise? c) Does boring it change the ccs? For example, making it a 383cc or whatever. (If so, what are the different levels?) Thanks.
  2. Anyone with common sense will realize he's joking. You are fine on 93. If you want to run race fuel, up the compression to 155+ psi by use of a Coolhead and domes.

  5. 1 Banshee (probably turning into a drag bike), 1 Big Bear, 1 King Quad. Before I picked up the Banshee I had an XR80, Yamaha 80 quad, the Big Bear, King Quad, Yamaha 250 4 stroke dirt bike from 86?, an 80s or something Suzuki 500 dirtbike 4 stroke, and a alcohol burning shifter kart. I sold the 80s first because they were to small, gave away the 250 and 500 becuase they were old and shitty (wish I never did now...), sold the shifter kart (wish I never did for this too, more than the bikes!), then kept the Bear and King Quad, and bought a Shee. I'm happier having all 2001 and newer bikes now, lol, so much easier to work on not rusy and falling apart shit!

  7. Eh, I'm not to worried because the rebuild plan has been in the works for a while now. Either way, I'm stopping it before it goes. I'd say it's piston slap, and if it's not...it's not changing my mind about the rebuild lol. W/o a steth., I can almost say for sure the noise is in the top end. But regardless, it's getting ripped the f*ck apart for the crank, rebuild, porting, etc. Just need to save the cash. Should the stock clutch be alright on a 4 mil? EDIT- The only reason the compression is low because I rode it so much. Has a really good amount of hours on the current top end. Once it's all good to go again, I'll be parking it a hell of a lot more.

  10. I might be having piston slap then. There's no sounds at idle, but as I rev it, it has like a chatter sound. I know the compression is low, I was just letting it idle up after I washed her for final storage before I get the cash to overhaul it (4mil/porting/carbs, etc.) I want to get to a rebuild before it does blow. 21cc domes, Pro Design Coolhead @ Sea Level timing is at +4. It does have a "hollow" tinge to it, so that's probably it! I'd like to hear any other descriptions though for the future. Actually, lemme see if I can get some vid...it will probably be shitty phone quality though.
  11. How do you tell the difference between piston slap, detonation, and whatever else there is as far as odd sounds go? Basically any sounds that would signafy a bike malfunctioning. I don't really know much as far as this goes, so I was just wondering.

  13. Agreed. I'm sending my 05 out for porting, and I'm doing porting to compliment a 4mil, getting the crank, and rebuilding all at once. (In addition to all the other necessary 4 mil components, carbs, etc.) My bike will be down a little longer, but it will be good for a while when I'm done. Nothing like being completely fresh IMO. :biggrin:
  14. I agree completely with Loco here. This is a Banshee site, not a site about Sesame Street where shit has to be censored, banned, and deleted. The only exception would be the porn spam bots, and any spam bots. I think Loco does a great job at keeping things under control. Hell, GregBob and what's his face, BigRed or whatever would have been banned on any other site...but what I like about the HQ is they appreciate all opinions, good, bad, and the ugly. If I think you're a jackass, I can say it, regardless of if I'm right or not. We are all at least somewhat mature here, and can respect what other people post on our own. If you don't like something, don't read it. I come here because I like Banshees. I like reading about them, seeing others, working on them, riding, whatever...and we don't have to talk about work, gfs/wifes/ whatever. It's all about Banshees and bullshitting. Whenever a topic goes bad, we can see tits too. :biggrin:
  15. You can't buy a new air filter but you're sending it to the dealer for carb cleaning???? With Banshees - spend the money and do it RIGHT otherwise you will be spending more money and fixing more things!!! Even if it means you can't ride for a week, month whatever...it's not worth the expensive situation you could put yourself into! My bike is the first quad I've ever worked on...you'll pick it up fast, they are very accessible and simple quads. (As long as you have a head on your shoulders, and have critical thinking skills.) Just watch how everything comes apart, keep carb parts in separate bins so you don't confuse them, and be careful. Put it back together, and you're golden.
  16. Buy a new filter it's less than $30 at your local ATV shop. I'd NEVER run it like that... Carb cleaner or a propane torch is best for checking air leaks. What mods are done to your bike? What is the jetting? Have you adjusted the air screw?
  17. Rebuild it dude...it's not that expensive. And if you love your Banshee as much as I love mine, you are going to miss the hell out of it!!!!!! But if you aren't happy with it's trail performance, then I guess you should move on... 4 years is a long time, I've only been around for about 7 months lol. But I vote for C.

  22. Lol. I was going to say how in the hell do you drive your bike 60 miles at once on the highway, and where the hell is this. I was getting jealous...at least about being able to go on the highway, not about the 60 miles part.
  23. Are you going to get the 115 rod? Don't get the shorter one...and run 795 pistons, tell them you are porting for use with a 4mil.
