  1. Stroker crank -> more power -> long rod = cut domes. (I saw what you were talking about, I made it more specific... 4 or 5 mil... the 4 mil crank that's longer, 115 I think? I don't know if that's considered a 5 mil or not.)
  2. Duramax > Cummins > Powerjoke I mean stroke. At least as far as stock goes. I'm just not a fan of how slow the stock I-6 is...modded, different story, they are sweet. Very strong running motors. :biggrin:
  3. The longer mid pipe goes on the left hand side. It's actually an 1" longer I believe? The right side for some reasons seemed like it should have been made longer also though IMO. I got mine on fine though, just gotta have it all at the right angles. And some good hangers. :biggrin:

Okay...here's a chance to tell me what direction you would go with this bike, if it was yours. 2005 Yamaha Banshee Special Edition -Pro Design Coolhead w/ 21cc domes -K&N Pods w/ Outerwears -Toomey T5s -Ported Stocker Cages w/ Carbon Fiber Petals -Razr 2s, YFZ450 Stocker fronts. -Jetting -Small things (TORS removal, parking brake delete, etc.) -Stock suspension all around. Here's what I want: more power, and more top end. I want to be able to rip other modded bikes apart in a straight line (more than I can now...I want insane power), but still be able to play around in the trails. My compression is low, so it's getting rebuilt, keep that in mind. I would rather have the power mods first, before I get into suspension shit. I run in a lot of beach sand because I live in Florida, and the trails are generally open and straight. There's a lot of dips/whoops, and a lot of open dune fields. The summer months here are wet as hell, so I'd like to be able to throw some Hoosiers on and drag it at the 1/8th mile asphalt for fun in the summer. I wouldn't mind running race fuel here because of the less consumption, and I can lower the domes for that time being. Here's what I was thinking: -Rebuild with 795s (I have not pulled it apart yet, so hopefully get away with a hone, resleeve, whatever) -4mil / 5mil crank, whichever is the longer one -Dune Port/Match Crank By Herr Jugz -Carbs, reccommended by Kevin -I would like to stay on pump fuel, so same 21 domes (cut.) [i'd like to get this all done as close together as I can, kind of like "phase 1: motor"] Shortly after: -Clutch -+4 swingarm -+ A arms and Axle, shocks.
  6. How many passes do you think you get out of a motor? (1/8th mile, race fuel, 4 mil drag ported 795 pistons ish set up) Hell, maybe the light dragging I was doing is probably what caused this compression to drop so fast, and not the trail riding, lol! I only hit the track about 4 times, but made a number of passes each trip... between that and a heavy thumb, I think that's what did her in compression wise.
  7. Yeah, I understand what you mean. Here's how I looked at it: Right now it's a trail quad, and I ride that thing all the time. Unfortunately, gas, oil, wear and tear is not cheap. I figured if I built it into a drag bike, made a few passes a night, and raced only 2 or 3 times a month, I'd get more motor life, and spend less in the long run. If I stay mostly trail riding, I'm going to be dumping tons of money in suspension work too. Not to mention the destruction trail riding causes. I thought I'd spend less getting into light dragging. I think a dune bike would be more mild though, and then I could have the best of both worlds. That way I could transfer between the two if I wanted. Thanks man.

  10. What bore over is required to run 68mm? (10, 20, whatever.) What + swinger is still good for trails (I want to be able to roost sideways around sharp turns if I do trail it, but I want to minimize wheelies on the asphalt)? Do you guys find + a arms and axles good or bad for dragging? EDIT- I will be racing for fun too. I might not be 100% asphalt drag, but either way I want straight line to be my best.

  19. Definately TORS. I still have one hanging too. If your bike runs fine, that means your TORS is disconnected. That's a good thing.

  24. I had the Motion Pro kit. I knew I'd snap it, so I thought I was safe having my local shop do it. Nope, they snapped it too those bastards! They took it out and everything though, some Loctite covered their ass.
  25. The 93 octane you got was bad gas? I didn't catch that part before his post above. ^ Same gas station? They could be adding shit to get more money out of it, or have tank problems. I'd believe that before it being because the gas sat so long (unless you let it sit, and it began to separate oil/gas.) I found a local station that had water in there gas before! But it was in my truck, so I wasn't as mad, lol. It wasn't a lot either, but it did run a bit choppier. Try a new gas station if that's the case.
