  1. i was riding through a flooded field to get to a farm acess and ran right into a 10 ft deep hole the farmer dug to get to a fild tile. flooded the bike and was soaked to the waist, ran to my buddies house and he took me home to get my truck.. hows that for an o shit in an unfirmilliar spot!
  2. id do brand new plugs,wires and clean the carbs, plugs arent that bad and i use plug wires from cars that i get at autozone with a knife and some patiance youl have an oversized plug wire that makes a bigger spark.
  3. i tend to stretch chains and ruin sprokets alot thats probly because all my swinger bearings are shot,but id checkem if you think you got tight spots,,axle could be tweaked etc.
  4. my 250R does that same shit, havent craked the cases yet, i got those bearings replaced so i outta be ok. :ermm: but ill tell you if thay made a case saver for an 81 atc id be runnin it cause i used to trow that shit all the time.
  5. id tear it doun and replace any bearings thet the sand could have gotten to ,,i dont really care if i can clean em i wouldnt want that shit going bad later for no reason i.e wrist pin bearing, crank bearings, and if i knew for sure that sand got to the crank id also have the crank pressed apard to do the center bearing and the bottom rod bearings im paranoid of sand, i always run a good filter and an airbox with a filter lid any time im around sand,,shits like cancer to an engine i might sound stupid but thats my .02 :shrug:
  6. check all of your connections, once i went through 3 different plug wires cause i had a bad connection by the generator.
  7. i was able to get it up and doun the road several times on a set of plugs then id have to change em i did this several times. im pretty sure it was the head gaskets so its gettin new gaskets cause i popped the heads anyway. the spark plugs have always seemed to be a hell of a lot tighter when i take em out than when i put em in, i think im gonna start putting copper anti- seize on em cause their really tight when they come out.

  10. k i got a new one jus busted off two of three bolts on one of my exaust flanges thank god for helicoils i was driving to town in sis's explorer to get parts and the road was covered in packed snow, im getting close to a bridge and like an idiot i hit the brakes to slow down :: ,...... o shit!!!!!!!!! slid that bitch doun a 20 ft dranedge ditch and into the bottom on its side. watter wasnt that deep though.. :shoothead: still had a lot of watter running into the cab. jus so you know guys 4wd dont mean shit on ice. jus my .02

  13. still got the stock heads and i havent cleaned the pistons one of them had clean spots on it when i poped the heads so i don know if thats a sign of getting hot or could it be preignition cousing it?

  16. k i got the heads pulled and one pistons kinda black all over and the other has some clean spots on it where the intake ports are the second one seemed like one of the nuts was loose and there was a spot on the gasket that looks suspisios.so im gettin new gaskets. is it bad to have these clean spots on the piston? mayby that cylenders running too hot. or could that be the coolent causing it to burn funny?
  17. recent rebuild and its loosing cooland but i dont see ovios leakage anywhere and its fouling plugs like a mother. i think its the head gaskets but the plugs always look great and always identical u guys got any idas
  18. id do it your not going to regret it the cool head is a good choice the cooler the better the only thin that i didnt like is that boost bottle boost bottle=worthless other than that i like the way u think im getting ready to have mine ported its gonna be sweet!

    yeah i see how i can look really stupid :shoothead: now i know to measure then buy. problem is i bought all the parts seperatly from diferent sources to save some dough. im puten em on ebay as a set see if im not totally screwd.,, :shrug: ,,it was just starting to lose compresion and it sounded good so i thought id get all the parts together and do it all in one sitting and be fairly rutine... guess not :shrug: . think i might have it ported while its apart though. who do you guys reccomend?
  23. help fix other peoples bikes work at a vineyard pt time work on a lake cleanup crew over the summer-drag shit out of the lake so people dont get hurt,- lake shafer in monticello by indiana beech.admissions free if you go by boat :biggrin: ive worked on the dredge in that lake too, just moving the pipe, its some big shit. varios hired yard work ie cut doun trees, mow yards,haul shit up and doun stairs etc. anything to make some money cause this shits expensive
  24. would have been nice for the ass hole who sold me my bike to tell me that it was bored out. after a year of riding its time to get a fresh top end, no big deal right.... wrong i ordered all the parts and when i pull the top end i find that my new pistons are too fucking small. now im out of money because of all the parts i already had to buy. :verymad: now i have to wait untill i start working this summer to buy the right parts :: ........im mad i think somebodys gettin an ass kickin :ninja:
  25. if its a 99 your gonna want to modify some warrior or banshee spindlels so you can have decent front brakes cause if you get those drums dirty and wet your gonna die. drums dont work wet or dirty ,disks are the tits :biggrin:
