  1. I didnt even need to read your whole post... Go w/the 05 and DIY... You will be much happier knowing what you got when you are all done. It is awesome to make your Shee YOUR Shee... Have fun... Post pics when you get it!
  2. You are right, the dude was just blowing off some steam... Also, I would bet more that 90% have done something illegal on their quads...
  3. Hell yeah!!!! Squirrel food aint cheap bitch!!! LOL
  4. Hmmm... If it were me, I would figure out what I was working with first. I would do a compression test in both cyliders. Then I would tear the carbs down and clean/inventory them. If its nearly all stock I would make sure your main jets are anywhere from .190 to .220's depending on elevation, your pilot jet is of the stock size, and your needle is on the 3rd (middle) clip/location, and your airscrews are 1.5 turns out. I would thrown in a set of fresh spark plugs gapped correctly, and drain the fuel and throw in 93 oct with a 32:1 or 40:1 mixture of some good oil. If it still ran like crap, I would start by troubleshooting my electrical components one at a time using the Electrical FAQ document on the Main Page of this site under technical documents. It the stator, coil, pickup coil, pickup coil gap(s) all check out and are within tolerance then I would list everything single thing you did, and what symptoms you are seeing in detail and ask for additional help on here. Maybe some of these guys that have been doing this forever can offer more assitance than this? But you sound like a guy that wants to get the satisfaction of getting her running yourself. Good luck!!! Keep us posted... All this might be overkill, but its all pretty simple. This was you know where you are starting from... Oh, and welcome to the HQ!
  5. If you have the T.O.R.S ditch them. If you have the parking brake ditch it. The simpler you can make the electrical system the better. Unfortunatly I have never dealt with all that is the T.O.R.S, but I know almost everyone here has ditched them. For trouble shooting purposes try an bypass those circuits. If you look under technical documents off the main page I think there is an Electrical FAQ document that BenBB put together. Its great stuff... Good luck, and provide as much info on what is going on, and what you have done thus far to troubleshoot...
  6. It means you rock it old school my brotha! The j-arm frame in lighter and more retro! :-)
  7. His basic point was DNR sucks... I agree!
  8. So you are an expert on PA Law. I can put up with a lot of anything but dont call me a lair. They have NO-NONE-NADA jurisdiction when NO laws have been broken especially on private property and I was on Private Property, property to which he had nore real Squirrel business being on at that time. And DCNR are pussies! Squirrel Police... Most law enforcement "most not all" take that type of job because they like being in charge. I know I have relatives that are cops... So unless you were there please dont call me a liar.
  9. You want $550 fro the whole bike, or it will cost $550 to rebuild it?
  10. If it will make by Banshee faster... Then I'll care! lol Until now I honestly thought that it changed if you paid for a membership or were a mod or something... I didnt know the relationship between the status and # of posts...? :ermm:
  11. ... In PA, the are the DCNR (Department of Conservation and Natural Resources). The ride the roads in between the State Game Lands and pull people over for speeding, they cruise through the parking areas and give tickets "on parked cars" for expired registration and inspection stickers. Honestly I have not met one I didnt want to punch in the face. I live on a "Private Road" thats owned and maintained by a home owners association comprised of the residents of my develpment. Now this is not your typical development, the roads are dirt, and we are in the stix... Well at the end on my road there is a trail that is State owned and accesses the ATV riding trails. From time to time the DCNR comes down our road to get to these State trails... Well one time a DCNR officer was down our road inspecting the trail or checking the squirrels nut gathering permits or whatever the fuck they do... anyway, I was riding down my street "Private Street" going to my neighbors... Well, he rolls up behind me and hits his lights up... I see him and keep going to my buddies about 1/8 of a mile down from my house... He follows me and just before I get to my buddies house he hits the siren... I pull in, and he jumps out screamin at my asking me why I didnt stop... LOL Yeah, you see where this is going... So I turn around and tell him to get the fuck back in his truck because he is trespassing... Well he didnt not like that response so he tells me to get down on the ground... See where this is going... yeah! Well I procede to tell him NO, I'm not getting doing anything he says, and I pull out my cell phone and dial 911... He asked me what Iwas doing and I told him that I was calling the police and reporting him for trespassing and threatning me... Well I wont bore any of you with the whole story, but it ended up with him leaving, me not going to jail, and now everytime he see's me out on the State trails I get a good old fashioned shake down. He was wrong, and he was just being a dick... 99% of them are mad because they were not smart enough to get into the State Police Academy...
  12. That makes sense if you plan on doing any asphalt time. Check out the duro tires for asphalt...
  13. You gotta have a drag bike, and save the princess...
  14. The more ply's the better IMO. I ride rough rocky trails and if you are running anything less than 4-ply your side walls will be toast in one ride. I see LOTS of guys EVERY weekend with flats... I should set up a tire slime stand in the parking lot... I'd be rich!!! lol... Seriously though, buy the tools you need for the job... If you are mostly 2 trackin and have nice wide smooth trails you will be fine. But if you ride rough rocky trails like the Michaux State Forest has, get some 6-ply tires... You might save a few bucks now, but after you start pluggin and tubing your tires it will cost you more in the long run... Just a thought.
  15. My HD's have worn like nails thus far. That have more than double outlasted a set of razors my neighbor runs on his craptor... We ride the same stuff? Just a FYI... I think so long as you dont do, what you are doing in your signature your tires will last a while!!!! lol
  16. F%#k the DNR, the DCNR... They are nothing more than teh squirrel police... Not that I ride along side the roadway or anything, but he would have had to catch me first... I'd take my ticket from the higway patrol or state police but not some DNR. IMO, the DNR should have no jurisdiction on state traffic code, unless its on state park property. Just MO...?
  17. Buy tire and wheel kits, and sell your old ones with a little life left in them. Otherwise go to a real tire shop. Most of them can do it for like these guys say, $5-$10 per tire. Either way you will save a little $$ and frustration of going to the stealership. They really love to see guys come in and have the tires they just bought of the internet mounted.
  18. I love my Holeshot HD's... They hook-izzup!!! Best ITP Holeshot I have ridden. I do hard pack dirt trails, with lots of rocks and shit... My buddies are always getting punctured sidewalls... Not me! Also you can pretty much let the air out of them and they will get you back to the house or truck. But everyone has their favorite brand of everything and I'm sure the next guy will say what I run is junk!
  19. Sounds like you had a blast... It's always fun to whoop some a$$...
  20. There is nothing wrong with asking...
  21. Lets just assume that since he didnt mention any custom pistons, port duration, etc... That his mods are what he says they are. And the bottom line is, his compression is what it is... With 19cc domes the 150psi ballpark is pretty close. Oh, sorry, but you do a compression check on a cold wet cylinder. The numbers will obviously be higher when the sleeves, pistons, and rings are warm. I think your numbers seem pretty close, and on the plug chop, you want to see a 2mm chocolate colored ring at the base. Just my .02 take it with a grain of salt...
  22. Do a compression check after you add the 19cc domes. I run 19cc domes at 1350ft. and I make 155+ psi compression. That is close to needing to run 50/50 mix.
  23. no problem. Just run 50/50 if you are close and use good oil and jet correctly...
  24. Where do you all live that crime is so bad? I can well, could leave my bike outside in my yard if I wanted to... Plus its insured...
