  1. In theory resistance increases with temperature... Someone else that started a thread and is having the same problem as you... What you guys do have in common=RS... ??? Something else... You mentioned the CDI box... Now this might just being grasping at straws but my CDI box just died... I noticed the past few rides my Shee seemed to run a bit amiss at WOT after about 20 30 minutes into the ride... I really didnt think to much about it because it was in the high 90's and I was in the process of jetting, so I thought maybe it was jetting, but in retrospect my jetting was dialed in at that point... I dunno... electrical stuff is weird! I just spent the past week trouble- shooting my very own electrical issues and found the CDI box was toast! If you guys need parts PM NYUK... He'll take care of you... Good luck guys...
  2. What thread was that? I am just curious how grounding the red/brown and black wires off the cdi helped it stop bogging? And welcome to the HQ!!!
  3. Black... and have him shoot those pipes with ceramic too!
  4. For any of you that were following this it was the CDI box... Although the coil did appear to fail the Yamaha ohm resistance test on the secondary winding(s) test, it bench tested ok... NYUK hooked me up with a box full of parts to try and the CDI was the culprit... After 5 weeks of not being started it started on the first kick, literally... I swapped the cdi box and was using an in-line-spark ignition tester just to check to see if it was getting spark after the swap, and it fired up!!! Thanks for all those who helped me out with the troubleshooting process... And a special thanks to BenBB, xxXBWDXxx and NYUK... You guys rule... I am thanking people like I just fucking won an Oscar... Having your Shee fire up after being dead for a few days feels twice as good I bet!!!
  5. What brand of Comp Tester do you have and where did you get it... Mine has that f-ing hose that you have to try and sniggle in there and its a PAIN in the ass to get it on tight...??
  6. Those look rattle-canned... Ceramic coat is not glossy... I'd stay away, unless you had the stripped and done right...
  7. Dude... If you add a K&N filter and K&N airbox lid (which i think he is saying) you will for sure need 4-6 sizes... Its "almost" the same as taking the lid off... If its the stock lid I'd try 2-3 sizes maybe...
  8. AZCUSTOMQUADS can mod your frame for you... He does sick ass work!!!
  9. Yes, read the jetting FAQ document by BenBB... It is great info...
  10. Dude, You gotta have thick skin if you are going to lay it all out on the line... We all do dumb shit and ask, or have asked dumb questions... Just put-er back together man, Sheel run again bro... It's not like your dog died... Although it feels like it sometimes... Mine's still not running an its getting old! My wife is going to divorce me if I keep staying in the garage until 2AM... Hang in there... Oh... and if you warped your head I got an 06 stocker with about 10 hours on it...
  11. lol
  12. Should I tell my wife to not get the mail this friday? :ermm: lol
  13. Oh Yeah... NYUK came through with a SUPER hookup!!! Thanks again... IF ANYONE needs anything PM this guy...
  14. I might be doing some snorkling... I though it was funny at first... Ther eis a guy thats always wading around with his metal detector, and I though... It will be funny when he finds this and says" WTF is this thing..."
  15. Meat you see my electrical gremlins thread??? I am officially dead in the water... Sum up... Took bike apart. Labeled everything. Put bike back together... I only cleaned the connectors and used dielectric grease and te-taped a few spots in the harness where it needed it. No spark... Read electrical FAQ by BenB... Pickup coil checks out ok... 114.3 ohms Pickup coil gap is good at .018 Stator Iginition checks ok... 18.5 ohms Verfied throughout harness on all black wires on various plugs I have ground continuity. Tested my kill switch... Tested my key switch bypass setup... My coil was bench tested for 30 minutes and passed... I tried new plugs, and I put new plug wires and NGK 5K ohm caps... No spark? What am I missing?
  16. Jack... Are you seeing my electrical woes??? Anyone have any advice? I am hitting a brick wall ::
  17. Ben, The shop called and said the coil is fine. It ran on the machine for 30 minutes with no problems?
  18. As far as the harness's go.. are all the wires still tha same colors, just different plugs?
  19. I try to help if I can. I also like bustin some balls and crackin jokes too... But you are right. There are ppl here that are quick to try and make newbs look and feel like dumbshits... I have no problem asking for help if I dont know how to do somthing... If I did not ask and fucked it up I would be a dumbshit for not asking others that may have made the same mistake before and could have helped a brotha out... Just take what you get from members here with a grain of salt... They are a-holes in every crowd, but I have mostly found a bunch of good guys like that love banshee's and boobs just like me...
  20. Well... I guess there is always that approach! If you want to be all technical and stuff... LOL
  21. Thats what FMF say's they are designed for... Anything will beat the stock pipes...
  22. I had some Fatty's ceramic coated... Go with a reputable powder coater, have him bake them a few cycles BEFORE he coats them when he is curing other projects. This will burn out the oil inside the pipe hopfully. Make sure he cleans them really well before he shoots them, really good like where the springs attach and where the mounting plates attach. After he shoots and cures them handle them very carefully until you get a few heat cycles on them... You will love it... I find mine retain heat a bit more it seems. I was told it can help with burning out the extra oil that builds in the pipe kind of like a scavange effect of sorts... Stay away from the crap you get from the parts store... If you must do it that way clean the pipes like 40 times before you spray them, and then bake them in an oven to cure for 30 minutes at like 375 0r 400... They will smoke if you do this, so if your oven does not self vent do it in an old oven or stove outside or in a garage... Mine cost me 65 bucks to be coated, but I did most of the prep work... Hope this helps!
  23. Good buy... I just saw it come up and knew you were lookin...
