its cool the americans won it this year, the frenchys won it the past two years. for those who don't know, we have a big 12 hour race in the States now. Its the "Maxxis 12 of America" race and its held Oct 30th. Maxxis holds 3 smaller 6 hour races throughout the year and I got to participate in one of em this year. The race was at Rausch Creek in Tremont Pennsylvania and I worked the pits for EastCoast Powersports, our team ran a 660 Grizzly in the Utility Modified class and WE WON our class. 1st place baby ! Class winners recieve a free entry($200 fee) in the big 12 hour race thats held in Iowa every year. Rumor has it that this will be the last year they race it in Iowa, they're going to move it to Rausch Creek next year. Banshees always win the PDV race because its a high speed course.... and when we were racing the 6 hr race at Rausch Creek they designed the course to be "high speed" during alot of the course. The course also included a full MX track and XC style woods section, but a hellava lot of the course was "high speed" straights. Not a single Banshee raced that day. I think the Banshee woulda done pretty well on the Rausch Creek 6 hour race, I know my yellow Banshee woulda kicked ass there. Any locals wanna get a 3 man Banshee team for next years Rausch Creek 6 hr race ? I got the Banshee, all I need is two other smart and fast racers, smarter racers preferred over faster racers. The name of the game is finishing with the least amount of mechanical problems along the way. LaMans style start just like the PDV race. J.J. fly your ship buildin' ass over here and lets race the 6 hr race next summer.

happy birthday H-man.

Scott they look good. Just got dial em in now. Sounds like you should be adjusting your caster. If it steers to fast, the quad can be dangerous, especially on a quad like the Banshee where your flyin' up to high rates of speed very quickly. By lookin at your pictures, your caster looks like its setup to steer quick. Lay that caster setting back to re-gain your high speed stability. Fiddle with the caster setting until you get the perfect mixture of sharp turning with high speed stability. And concerning your camber, it does look a little too much. Id agree with the 3.5 or even 3 degrees on your camber.

How Reliable Has Your Banshee Been To You?
Meat replied to deathmetal5150's topic in General Banshee Discussion
your banshee will run forever now that you've found the bansheehq forums. my last top end rebuild was back in august 2001, it has 135 lbs of compression with 24cc head domes. This past spring\April I still had 135 in cylinder and 130 in the other. So I put smaller 20cc domes in and the compression jumped to 165\170. Its been running good all summer long. 3 years and running on this set of pistons and I know they'll last another 3 years, I have no fears of my engine seizing. Run good synthetic premix oil, keep the airfilter clean and take care of the quad and it will last forever. Iv had more electrical problems than engine and frame problems combined. My banshee can sit for 2 weeks and fire up with one kick. I forgot to mention... I have porting work done too. mx port. another example. I ride a yamaha rz350 streetbike that has a similar engine as the banshee does. Twin cylinder 2 stroke. The bike is on the original pistons and the odometer reads 11,000. I checked the compression last winter and it had 130 lbs in each cylinder. Starts on the first kick. -
Thats the first thing I thought..... induced coma. The crash sounds bad, but its good that he was coherent and talking on the way to the hospital. They'll patch em. I seen him on the discovery channel biker buildoff, he seems like a real charcter. Rat fink bike if I remember.

I couldnt agree more with Motul and Abyss, well said boys. And how can we have a debate when guys like Rebelbanshee and Sandstar are name calling like little kids. Calling Motul "gay" and the other insults thrown at any opposed to Bush is uncalled for and frankly makes you look very dumb. How can anyone take your points of view seriously, when you say shit like... "I here the french army is looking for white flag wavers" "why didn't you just admit you are gay, then they would have shipped your pansy ass home." "I am tired of hippy fagets talking shit on Bush." Let me take a guess at your next insult..... "you guys are un-american...... and gay" Childish nonsense IMO. I'd bet none of you would have the balls to say that to anyones face. You should always show respect. Name calling does more damage to the name caller. It shows immaturity and bully'ness that goes hand in hand with teenagers and felons. Everyones entitled to thier opinions, just that name calling is not cool and it doesnt make you or the BHQ forums in general look good.

Keep the Shee, forget the 450 and get a 250r instead.

you dont have to buy new shocks, but you'll prolly ruin your stockers, they're gonna be too soft. But stock shocks will bolt right up to any aftermarket A-arm you buy. Just get your new front shocks when you can afford em. Stock shocks are cheap so its not a big deal if you ruin a pair.

Could it be the degree key f@$!@ it up

In honor of Lefty turning 21 on sunday..
Meat replied to Brooke's topic in General Banshee Discussion
happy birthday Lefty-meister ! long story short. 6 of us, about 17 years old, got a bottle of Everclear grain alcohol. We mixed it with punch and started walking to the local high school because there was a basketball game happening and a dance afterwards. We had to walk about 1\2 mile to get to the school. Needless to say we were all shitfaced as shitfaced can be, and we raised big time hell at the school. Most of us were falling around the hallways around the gynasiaum but two of our crew went in the gym to see the basketball game. They were playing the national anthem or something like that before the game, and my buddy's were yellin and cussin and raisin' hell the whole time. Well the announcer stoped announcing and the whole gym turned thier heads and looked right at my two buddies who were beligerant and falling all over the basketball court. Security gaurds came a running and we scattered. We all got out of the school except for me and a buddy. The one security guard grabbed me and was holding my arm, while another guard had my buddy Rich. Well Rich freaked out and started wailing on this security gaurd, the guard holding my arm left go to help his buddy and I took the f*ck off out the front door. While running across the parking lot, here comes the cop cars with lights a flashin'. I ran for the woods and prolly ran a mile deep. No cops chased me. Finally met up with my other buddies and they all had similar chases with the cops. Poor Rich got in big trouble, they sent him to "juvie" cause in reality he was a fuckup. But that was the last time I'v tasted grain alcohol or have been that drunk. I was sick for days, pukin' and shittin'..... And just like CEJ wrote..... "This, boys and girls, is why I don't drink." -
Hell I'd bet the commission can find connections between EVERY COUNTRY and al-qaida. Could you be specific. I was under the impression that the "official word" was no connection. Agreed. But..... a lot americans feel the soldiers should not even be in Iraq, let alone be killed there, thats what I was trying to say before. Of course the troops must go where ever in the world the govt wants them to go, that is thier job, and they are the best in the world at what they do. First of all, comparing Iraq and WWII , no I'd think Vietnam and Iraq make a better anology(is that the word im lookin' for?). Germany was conquering fellow democratic nations and our number one allie England, the whole European continent was under attack from a Dictator. I don't think you'll find anyone who will argue against going to war with Germany. It was a noble cause, "a sacrifice to the greater good". We went to war with North Korea because they were run by a communist govt that attacked South Korea a fellow Democratic run govt. The USA should and does protect its fellow Democractic nations against the evils of communism. A good reason is all that we need to go to war. I wish I knew more facts on Vietnam, but if memory serves me right, its a similar situation to the Korean war, North commies against the southern democracy. Or... Vietnam was being converted to a Communist run country and it was our best interest to stop that. Lots of controversy over going to war in Vietnam. It split the country. No, clinton dropped a few bombs, shot a few rockets and sent in some troops for a little while. No war. No war was ever declared. And the good reason Clinton had was.. the ethnic cleansing what was happening. How could we pose sancations against Bosnia, fine them for every 100,000 thousand cleansed\dead ?? The war you forget to mention, and a very important war in the whole pictures is the first Gulf War. Remember what that was all about ?? Iraq invaded tiny Kuwait. Dictatorship attacking a Democracy. It's sort of our "duty" to help out Democratic countries, plus we all hated Saddam. Two great reasons for going to war then, and altho there were some hippies bitchin about that war, the country was pretty well united and agreed that it was justified. The US coalition thought so too. Can you image how different our world would be right now if we would have removed Saddam back in 1990. I don't think anyone will aruge with the war in Afganastan either. Good reason..... home of Bin Laden. Ok, now with all that said.. my point is. We never went to war with any country unprovked, or without one hellava good reason. It seems to me that we didnt have one hellava good reason to attack Iraq, put our troops in harms way or spend our hard earned tax money funding this war. It seems to me like we have a president with a chip on his shoulder, who's a C average student and a failure as a business man running our country blindly grabbing reasons to go to war with Iraq. I can't argue with that point. Plus.... we havent been attacked since 9\11. And the Iraq controversy is only part of the reason why Bush must go....... There's the economy issue, the national debt issue, the unemployment rate during his term. Plus Bush opposes key issues like the women's right to abortion, the gay marrage issue and his very religious morals that are being imposed on us. I don't like a president making decisions on what Howard Stern or Janet Jackson based on his conservative religous views. Less government in my life the better. Wanna get started on that Patriot Act tonight ?? ahhh anyone but Bush. I'll admit that Kerry's kooky too, but Im willing to roll the dice and vote Kerry. I really really really really think that if Kerry get elected, he's not coming after our Banshee's and our riding areas. Those issues..... are raised at a much lower govt level and that level has parties from both constituants. Im really gettin tired now, its been nice debatin' with ya all. till we meet again.... keep it clean, especially you rich guys

Bradford Pennsylvania, home of Zippo Lighter company, but pumpin out Zippos since the 20's. Just read this in the news last week, their business is being threaten by cheap Chinese knock-offs and sold all around the world. I want you to go to that Zippo plant in Bradford, or any American factory and tell those 50 year old ladies workin on the production line and boys working on the dock loading trucks that thier job is a "pee-on job". My "pee-on" job that pays my bills, puts shoes on my kid and gas in my toys is being threatened by the Chinese imports. Free-trade is great..... when the their's a level playing feild. Now how we gonna level that feild when China and others are paying thier employees pennies ??? Well we've been tryin' to level field ever since we bought our first imported goods. Its called "tarrifs". We impose a tarrif on imported goods, we all know that, but now.... these tarrif's are not working like they should. Want an example ? Buy a made in america Craftsman brand screwdriver for 6 bucks, or buy a Chinese screwdriver for $1.00 in the bargin bin. Brooke your an educated young woman, but your compassion for the American middle class is lacking. Very......... Republican like. Dats funny Agreed. Sad but true. And true they are both idiots. Lets all just vote Nader..... J\K. Agreed. Rich, poor and those in between all gettin' the shaft one way or another. And just as a side note. I think the tax rate should be equal for all income levels and sales taxes on goods should play a bigger role. We all cringe at sales taxes, but the fact is our country does need money to run. Why should business owners and millionaires be penalized by more taxes than the average man ? Its not right. Agreed. Just like you Californians did to Grey Davis a few months back. He did a shitty job, so you fired his ass. I like that alot. Thats how americans can take back this country from the carreer politicians who don't know jack about maintaining a budget or running a city. J.J. wrote... Vicious circle. Ashame that we're all so damn cheap. I used to go to Wal-mart and I'd buy a Stanley tool with "made in Tiawan" stamped on it and think.... "f*ck payin 7 bucks for a Craftsman tool, here's a perfectly good Stanely at 3 bucks". Out of mind... out of sight, ya know. Then China came in my sight head on when it starting effecting the company I work for and the people who work with me. First lay off they fired 20 people, second lay off a month later 30 more went. We're a small family owned company thats been around since the 40's and now with the new global economy... we're being forced out of business by China.... and the world's hunger to save a dime.

Where do you think the money is coming from to fund the Mars mission ? tax money. Its never a bad thing to help the citizens of another country, we are not bad for helping Iraq. I think everyone will agree Iraq is better off without Saddam and even tho its sort of a mess there now, the future for Iraq is bright. What people are disagreeing with is..... 1. The timing of going to war with Iraq when we just had the terrible 9\11 attacks and there was no solid evidence of Iraq even being involved. The president went on television and said they had these "weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq and Iraq would use them against us by helping out terrorist. The United States has never in its history attacked another country, until we attacked Iraq on the basis on them having WMD, and a few other atrocities Iraq has done. This is leads to the second reason why people are disagreeing with the Iraq war. 2. No WMD's were ever found. NOT EVEN AN EMPTY VIAL, nothing, nada. We've had American and UN inspectors checking Iraq's weaponary ever since the Gulf War and they have never found any WMD's. Do you all remember that US weapons inspector that was all over the news just before we invaded Iraq. He was the US head weapons inspector dude and he swore up and down that they have not found any WMD's. He got fired and the rumors were that he was being payed off by Saddam. Maybe he was, but what if he wasnt. Afterall, we never did find those WMDs but that weapons inspector guy lost his job, his reputation and faith in his country. Enter the UN weapons inspectors. Remember Hans Blitz? Testified to the United Nations the same thing the "traitor\evil do'er" American weapons inspector said. There are no WMD's in Iraq. He must be anti-american, so the media and the Bush crew bashed the hell out Blitz and Germany. This leads to the mindset that Blitz, Germany, France, the UN and anyone who disagrees with Bush is "anti american" or "unpatriotic". The United Nations takes us to number 3....... 3. The United Nations, think of the UN as a collection of Democratic Nations that banned together to help each other. Their headquarters is located in New York City and the United Nations was formed and spearheaded by the United States. Its our "baby" if you will. When there is a world crisis or important worldy issue, the member Nations are supposed to send delagates and the issues would get voted upon. The United Nations voted against the war on Iraq. They wanted more sanctions and more proof of WMDs..... see my #2 reason for details on the WMD's. 4. Another reason Americans are upset with the Iraq war is thier tax money is not being spent where they would like it to be spent. Like I was griping about eariler. 5. By going to war with Iraq we are now repsonsible for that country for another 10 years. Ten years of my tax money going for Iraq. 6. The case was made that "he was a terrible man and he's killed millions of his people", and alot of people have the same attitude as I stated earier.... "when I look out my back door, I can't see Iraq, so f*ck em". But that is honesty a nasty thing to say, and a better arguement would be the Cuba, Sudan, North Korea, China human rights travisties. If we say we are going to Iraq to help the poor Iraqi people, then what about the Cuban's and all those poor African's. I would bet ya that if our cars, boats, airplanes and OUR WHOLE ECONOMY DIDNT RUN ON OIL, but instead ran on fine cigars...... we would have free'ed the Cuban people 50 years ago. Our constitution says nothing about spreading Democracy around the world. Alot of American's dont want the US to be the worlds police. Thats what the UN is for. And we slapped every member of the Unitied Nations in the face, or I should say the Bush administration should. Hence... instead of those radical Islamist being pissed off at us, now we got the whole world pissed off at us. Some might say "who cares", but in reality.... its not cool. 7. The Bush adminstration then spreads more lies to get into a war with Iraq, they claim that Iraq supported the 9\11 terrorists and Osama Bin Ladan. The United States govt does a complete "9\11 report" and in that report they\we found that Iraq had zero ties to Osama and there was no evidence of any involvment in 9\11. The 9\11 commision wanted to interview our National Security Advisor Condi Rice....... and Bush fought tooth and nail against having her interviewed. Why? Then Bush was asked to testify to the 9\11 committee and he refused. He then agreed to testify as long as he wasn't under oath and that Dick Cheney was there with him. Why would he do that ? Might Abyss you hit on this one in your rantings.... you didnt remember what hearings Bush was forced too and that he had to have Cheney with him in the room. It was the 9\11 hearings. Bush also fought tooth and nail about even having a 9\11 investigation report. Why would he even suggest that or be aftraid of having his cabinet testify ????? Because the commitee would see that Iraq was not involved with the 9\11 attacks and put another reason on my list why we shouldn't have free'ed the Iraqi's........ at this moment in history. 7. 1000 American soldiers have died. Actually that number is off, I havent heard a death toll lately, but last I heard, about a month ago the number was around 800 dead. Someone made the point earier that "hey they signed up for the military, they know they could die" and I gotta agree with that 100%. But the 50% of Americans who have Kerry's vote... and who agree with my 6 other "reasons" sure do wish their sons&daughters and mothers&fathers were alive, instead of dying in an unjust war. Brooke I don't think we're a bad country for free'ing the Iraqi people from Saddam, its how we went about doing it and combined with concerns for getting more inportant "bad guys", American soldiers dying daily and unfortunatly the cost of the war.
-
Agreed. another vote for stupid and gay. Maier should have done something like Fullbore did, and keep that Banshee look.

Brooky wrote.... The only thing I feel the govt owes me is....... to properly spend the money we pay in taxes. 80 billion dollars of our tax money is going towards rebuilding Iraq. Iraq, a country half way around the world that we leveled. On the other hand, most of that 80 billion will be put in back into American businesses. Haliburton being one big benificiary of my taxes. How bout this tax bullshit proposed by Bush. MISSION TO MARS. We are at war with terrorists from all over the world, our nation debt is at record highs, our foreign policy is shameful, we're losing american jobs to China and the worlds sweatshops, prescription medication prices are out of control, unemployment is at 6%............................. and Bush want's to spend more taxes so we can get a man on Mars. I wish I knew the price number for his Mars Mission, but its in the billions. That is how out of touch our president is. You don't hear much about the Mars Mission anymore and I think the pres was told to keep that low in his priority list. The govt' takes .25 cents out of every dollar I earn.... so we can go to Mars. Lets spend our taxes on getting those "evil do'ers" that are imminite threats to the USA. Iraq shoulda been on the list, but way way below Osama Bin Laden and North Korea. If we're going after Iraq, then we should go after Cuba next and then onto China which is another communist\dictatorship run country.
-
Agreed !!! Buy American products even tho Elka is a Canadian company atleast its not China or Tiawan. How bout this business idea. MadeInAmerica-Mart to compete with Wal-mart\China-mart. Every product in MadeInAmerica-Mart has to be made in the USA to be allowed in the store.
-
"Sandstar" Brooke. and thank you for seeing my point.
