  1. Here is what I did and it works: Take your pipes to a sand blasting place. Take them down to the metal. Take a soaking wet cloth of lacquer thinner and wipe them down. Then take brake caliper paint to them and it never comes off. Or you can use that new VHT paint that is good to 2000 degrees.
  2. Uh Oh.....he's got his grey goose on!
  3. Its a two stroke twin. When you put any other engine in it other than that it's uniqueness is done. I am not the biggest purest on twin carbs or pipes as a lot of the other members here are (if you need a ton of low end you have to choke it down a little to do it) but the engine as a whole should not be removed and replaced with anything else. The chassis and suspension are somewhat dated, but the aftermarket out there can chance all that if you have the green to get it done.
  4. psimard2 is an Ebay scammer. Bought a CDI for my Suzuki RM and he is claiming he never got the money but PayPal shows he accepted payment the day I made the transaction. Occasionally he has Banshee stuff for sale, but this was for a DirtBike. I contacted other ebayers from his feedback showing they had problems with him and it took 60 days to get their money back. Avoid this guy. psimard2
  5. Clymer Banshee Manual Online Understand this is one of the cooler features of Google is the book "preview". It is useful for buying decisions like an owner's manual for Banshees. Anyway a lot of newbies come on with an intro and a "just bought this thing and it don't run: Help" Some pages are intentionally blocked, but the troubleshooting isn't.
  6. :::::::::grabs a bag of popcorn and watches the fight::::::::::::::;
  7. Sure. Why not? If it is bone stock he hasn't screwed anything up yet so that will help.
  8. That body armour will do good for you if you get caught in a roost spray. I am buying an Answer stone guard just like that in a few months.
  9. I guess its something to do when the weather is shitty.
  10. YOU GOTTA REMOVE THE FLYWHEEL??????
  11. If that was a thirsty engine than yeah. That thing looks built pretty nice.
  12. Santa say...........BRAAAAPP!!
  13. Most shops of any quality here in the Midwest run about $300 dollars. One shop not far from me sandblast it as part of the service for what you are paying for. There is one place in Indy that will clean the welds and redo a lot of the slop from the manufacturer, Soda blast it (soda blasting is the best because it won't pit the metal and is used by a lot of car restoration shops), then powder coat it. One thing I saw that was cool was an aluminum coat type stuff then powder coated clear over that and it looked close to chrome. Pretty cool what you can get done if you have the money to do it.
  14. I like the curve better on the second one.
  15. I have run RK chains for years on two wheeled machines and never broke one. Ditto on running a cheap chain. The modded out machines will eat a chain in no time flat.
  16. Go with Wiseco. I have never had any problems on anything I have run with a Wiseco piston. I can tell you all kinds of horror stories about everything else. Especially Namura pistons.
  17. I run the billet aluminum one. Don't get it if you are moving up on sprockets sizes. Mine is shaped so really only a 13 tooth can fit it just right. the 14 tooth is almost touching it. Also the shaping isn't going to allow a chain to bind up inside the one I got. I should have gotten a plastic one.
  18. Minkia is selling studded ice tires on ebay.
  19. Some on here run 3.2 oz to a gallon but some others run 4 to a gallon. Either way is okay just know that when you richen it up on fuel you sometimes have to rejet it. 8 oz to a gallon and I bet that thing smokes a bit!
  20. Just remember the stronger the bar the weaker the steering stem should you roll it.
  21. How much to powder coat your frame? I have been wanting to do mine at some point along with the swingarm.
  22. If have the wrench time to do it I say rebuild it and sell it compete.
  23. Cool deal Ryan. First use the search feature and if that doesn't help start a thread and ask for advice. Lots to learn here. Oh...and welcome to the board.
  24. More than I can afford, but worth it.
