I strip mine down to the bare body and soak it for a day in Gunk engine cleaner. After it has soaked I take and old toothbrush and work the body and float bowl over real good until all the grease and grime are washed completely off. When buying the Gunk, get the gallon can, it costs like 20 bucks but its great. It makes the aluminum look new when you dry it off with air. I let the parts minus the float, soak as well. Inspect them after cleanup. Slap it together then your off.
