  1. First and best advise is to get a Factory service manual or Clymer manual. Get any new parts you plan on installing. Take the carbs off and clean the shit out of them. Install the new jets according to the altitude above sea level. The manual states the higher the altiitude, the smaller the jets. Each jet has a small marking on it to tell you the size it is. Anyhow, put it together and next is to get a carb syncronizer. (there is a cheap version made for carb syncing volkwagons that the BansheeHQ video DVD uses as a demonstration that is really good.) Adjust the cables from the throttle and adjust according to proceedures. That thing will scream when adjusted properly. The properly syncronized carbs will make her hum like a sewing machine.(a really loud one) lolol I start mine with my wrist on the kick start lever with one push of the hand. Dont let your patience get the best of you. You get the feel of her as you experiment with your jets and settings. Have fun and welcome to the Best link to the fun haven you will ever know. 2. Bullshit; I mean it. Crap you can allways get more, you can never replace what is gone. Dont sell shit. Man you worked your ass off getting them both. Piss on the rest , keep what is yours. Collect more stuff. The Marine Corps has had me sell everything I had owned at one time to continuously rotata to Japan again and again for years at a time. Over the years I have owned, Huge Bayliner boat, Corvette, GSXR1100, Jet ski`s, 3 wheelers, classic Honda Minitrails bikes, Aspencade, a tricked out VW, "2(1970 Mach 1 mustangs)", a 67 mustang, a convertable 1966 mustang and a 1971 Jag E-type roadster. I had a speech class in College and added up the money I wasted over the years on toys that I no longer have. It totalled $168,000.00 in all. If I had it to do again I would never sell any of them now. Just another 2 bits worth. Your bike is perfect, a collectors dream and will be something to hand down to the kids someday. Keep it ...
  3. Now if we can just keep the kids from chewing on the engines and getting lead poisoning. Yes but seriously, Im about to sell my sons Honda TRX 70 to some deserving child. Ill put him on a 90 Polaris sportsman Thank goodness the Chinese ATV`s are still for sale on Craigslist, even though they are all crap. The congressmen I doubt will do squat because the Democrat tree hugger types are in charge now. No offense to the Democrats here..Its only my opinion. Man I hate political gossip. Dont mind me.....Im waiting for my stimulus check so I can buy some crackers for the soup line.
  4. Oh hell; My wife just found the Paypal sheet on the pipes and skid plates purchase.....Hahah Trouble; Crap Im always in trouble. Oh well. I had better cool it for a few months on the Cash outlay. But in may she better watch out for the check book again. hehe ....savor the addiction.
  5. Check with beatrice ATV (DRATV) He sells alot of the ATC 70 stuff. I have some good used ATC70 tires that i took off my sons little bike You can have them if ya pay the shipping. They are (2) tires only. (303) 451-7097
  6. I have bought from ZM performance. I got a set of teh TRX 70 fenders for my little boy. They are not seconds. I did like the free shipping, and they package them really well. That was 1 1/2 years ago. I dont know if they still pack as good as they did for me then. You will have to ask them: Are these fenders seconds, Are these still packaged well againts damages or should I pay extra for the insurance? I used to work for UPS and we tore up boxes like these all the time. Id get the extra insurance up front. If you get the full fender kit you can carve them like you want.
  7. Man I thought you had just ordered new Toomy T-5 pipes for some reason, I remember something in a thread you recently wrote about some new pipes you had just got that had a small dent in them. Was that the DMC 916 pipes that had the dent?
  8. Damn: I forgot about considering E-bay. Thanks again guys. Ill be looking for the newer ones.
  9. Well if he is even thinking about a new Shee then he better scoop up the last one on E-bay right now. They just re-listed it at $5,999 If used doesnt bother him, there are alot of these available in as new condition, pretty close. What ever he decides, he had better do it soon or the new one will pass on by if that is what he wants.
  10. Welcome to the HQ. Hope you have a deep wallet, you wont be able to stop the addiction from growing. You will upgrade each year, to better, stronger and faster parts on your Shee. Congrats on your buy.
  11. Wow what a great looking Shee;

She is friggin awasome looking. I hope to someday build one like yours . Thanks for the great help with the compression testers.

  12. God help my wallet please. Man these things are high dollar. Thanks guys for the response. Ill have to nab the snap-on guy when he visits the mechanic down the street from me. I bought several torque wrenches a few years ago from craftsmen and they all got 5 uses maybe out of them. I will use this tool and I know that snap-on would support any needed repairs. Plus they come pre-calibrated I will assume. Until then Ill have to find someone here in the Denver area that has one that they could test it for me. Ill wait on that $250.00 dollar purchase for a few months until my DMC 916 pipe purchase soaks into the account real goos and the smoke from the wifes ass clears out a bit.
  13. My purple 95 Shee has the T-5's on it and it blows the doors off the new one with the stock pipes. I say your pipes are awesome and I would keep them for sure. Maybe have Tate powdercoat or ceramic coat them some wild color. If mine looked that good like yours does I would be in like Flynn. I still havent told my wife about the purchase yet. lolol.... Who cares, ya gotta play alot before ya die.
  14. Keep it man, It looks outstanding. To hell with the YFZ-450. Keep them both. Build gradually and have all the fun.
  15. Sheeeeeiit; Hell no it isnt. You wait till you ride a good Banshee. You will see. It will peel your eyeballs back a bit Id say. Better were some good grippy gloves too.
  16. Condolences from me as well. God bless his family
  17. I wonder where this bike is right now? There are a few Banshee`s still available here in the USA brand new as evidenced by the recent E-bay auction that was held last week for a brand new out of the crate 2006 model. It still has not sold for $5,999. plus it is legal, still makes the grandfather clause in the US emmissions standards, and can be registered. I would hate for anyone here to get one caught in customs despute over a new bike that has been banned in the US for importation unless you the buyer are a licensed registered team racer. This is the exception.
  18. Dam it Jim; That shit sure does look cool but it doesnt do squat for performance. I am at the crossroads where I have to think sleeper and go fast items only. Maybe later when i have money leaking out my rear end will I even think about those items. They are the coolest items ive seen yet on the street though.
  19. I want a compression tester that I can use to accurately check the Banshee compression. I dont plan on using it for anything else. Please advise.
  20. Ok here is another strong point: They make the Banshee to this very day the same as they did twenty years ago . They have only done a couple of light mods that you wont find disturbing. I believe the only upgrades that were done that I know of is : slightly different plugs on some wiring harnesses, after the first year (1987) they went to a A-arm suspension, they later went with a high output stater assembly and a different handlebar set up for the later year bikes. Oh yes the huge tail light in the later year bikes. I almost forgot that one. Parts will be dirt cheap as they made so many of them. They will always be popular as they made so many of them. You can get these as cheap as $1,500.00 for a good one all the way to $20,000.00 or more. Dare to be different in your group. Sling dirt all over them a few times with one and they cant catch you.....lolol Damn man: I waited 20 years to finally own one. I now have the addiction and own two. Ill never sell them. Be patient or call the dealership in Missouri that has the last new one for sale as It didnt sell he other day on E-bay. at $5,999.00 its a decent deal. You can get a really good lightly used one for far less than I did last year at $6,400.00 for the 2006 Special editionright out of the crate (NOS). Good luck man
  21. Damn; I barely made the purchase list for these pipes. That was too close. But Hey; I finally have the pipes comming soon. I plan on timing a few runs with a stock "new Banshee" at mile high. Then put on the new pipes and time it as well. Maybe even try out my old T-5`s as well sort of a comparrison. Maybe I can video the entire process. Interesting to see how I do. See ya next month when we all get our pipes. :ermm:
  22. Man If I had those T-5`s as nice as yours are Id keep them. You can always sell them to someone here on the HQ if you want in on these 916 pipes. My new Banshee still has the stockers on it. After looking at all of these nice pipes for a year now Im sick of the stockers. Ill keep them just for a wall hanging in the garage. I got my DMC 916`s ordered a minuite ago....thanks Tammy. That is sure nice of someone here on the HQ to go through all this trouble for many people, wow what cool friends we have.
  23. This crap sounds alot like the banter on Craigslist with all the spelling complaints. Sure we all could spell alittle better. The older I get the worse I get at spelling. Thank God for the spell check.
  24. He is thinking now guys. He just needs a good kick in the ass to set him off on a good rebuild project. Its a passion for only the strong minded. Its a mission to go ever faster. Its an attitude to pass them all by. Its a creation of love to rebuild. Its a sensation, that only grows stronger. Buy the parts, stare at them awhile. Plan the build and begin when the time is right. "We can rebuild him, better, stronger, faster"........quote from the six million dollar man....lolol All this crap makes me laugh
  25. Thats really nice of you to spend the time on the Pipes issues for us all.

    Thanks

If you are ever in Colorado, look me up and we will go for a ride.
