  1. Your right its total bullshit that he has lost it. There is no feeling like the scream of the Shee. He must have surely got beat down just by the mechanical breakage. Had it ran and not broken down he would not be wanting to part her. What is he later going to talk about on a website......Oh man I just got smoked by a Banshee. Shit I still wished I had her. It sickens me to see this. It just isnt right.
  2. Alright: Here is my Banshee story. I joined the Marine Corps back in 1984 before there was any Banshee. One day, several years later on leave back in the states in Amarilo I test drove the first Banshee in town. I instantly fell in love with them. I was stationed in Okinawa Japan, deployed all the time and had not the financial means at the time to think of owning one. I had to wait until I retired to finally trade my jetski for one. It still was not good enough as i felt cheated out of ever owning a brand new one. I finally went last year and tracked down one of the last here in the states up in Cheyenne of all places. I bought it over the phone, had them deliver it to my house. Someone would have to kill me to have me sell them, either one of them. Sure mine are not as nice as yours by a long shot. Mine are not as modified as fast nor as sharp in asthetics. But they are mine till I DIE. I am soon going to be 46 years old this summer. i still feel like a kid when I ride. I made a life mistake years ago when I was young and sold my 1970 Mach 1 mustang with shaker hood assembly, in dash tach, A/C and loaded to the hilt with all options. Trust us all when we tell you that you can always collect more ATV`s but you can never replace your baby. DONT SELL HER. FIX HER. IF you rotate and are deployed, there are enough nice people here that someone here can help you store it for awhile. The Marine Corps has a long term storage system in place for Marines at no charge during deployment. If you are still in the Corps, just arrange it through the local TMO offices. Keep the dreams alive, keep the man toys, and to hell with the rest of them. 4 strokers are a dime per dozen. All they have is low torque grunt for mountain climbing at low speeds. Good speed in your decision.
  3. Hell; Call them and make them an offer. All they can say is pound sand buddy... Cash says alot when times are hard as they are now.
  4. Man that is funny. only $15.00 what are you serious? The cheapest ones Ive ever seen are like $35.00 What type are you looking for? Let me know and Ill see if I can locate one for you.
  5. Damn dude: Thats alot for an old bike with only a few mods. I bought a 95 model with T-5 pipes and new Dunlop tires and a K& N air filter system. All for $1,500.00 with a new chain thrown in to boot. We see these very slightly modded bikes all the time in that price range. If it had a new top end or a stroker kit installed it would bring that price I believe. You may wish to E-bay it or place it on Craigslist. Good luck and I hope you get that asking price.
  6. Alright I have to ask. Tate: You state that there are possibly some mistakes in your video. Is there any plans on yearly video updates to your product to improve its accuracy? I just wondered as no-one else on this planet has done what you have done. It seems like a good concept, that each version of your video gets better and more informative as a sort of product improvement program. Just wondering if you have thought about it. Also I would like to get one of your videos for myself. As I live in Denver Id love the opportunity to see you powdercoat something one of these days. Hell I would even do some work with ya to help out in order to see the whole process. PM me if you still have a copy of the video available. Ray sends..
  7. All these guys are messing with ya on the boost bottle: Its been discussed like forever. Get rid of it and throw it in the trash. Its useless. In fact it just may be a problem. Who knows. Trash the boost bottle Im not yelling, just emphasizing. Check your jets , who knows you may be set wrong. It may have high altitude jets in it and you are at sea level. eliminate the possibilities.
  8. I dont know about these other guys but I am no money bags. I have to do things on the budget. If I were to offer plain simple suggestions I would say after a through checking of your fuel, spark and ignition system, I would simply take off both carbs, clean them to perfection, replace them, and syncronize them according to the manual, or according to the new banshee video here on BansheeHQ. Id then try and start her up. Fresh gas and oil mixture at 40: 1 ratio Clean air filter Check the throttle for proper tension at the carbs. If this doesnt work then I would possibly look into cylinder pressures etc. Note: following the steps here on that BansheeHQ video and the purchase of the little carb sync tool was well given advise here on the HQ. :
  9. OK now this will seeem highly unplausible but Ill tell this story anyhow; Last year when I bought my brand new banshee from the dealership in Cheyenne, I got it home and rode it several times with coolant dumping from the radiater hoses all over my pipes. I figures that it was because it was new. I later found out that .....(dont laugh please) that the premix ratio of 32:1 fuel to oil mix that I was using was entirely too rich and causing the coolant system to overheat. I took it to the dealer and of course got laughed at due to the syrup I was running in the fuel tank. He flushed out my tank, put in 40:1 ratio and the bike has ran like a scalded cat ever since with no overheat problems. I just knew that some head gasket was bad or something else. Has anyone else had this happen when reading the Banshee manual and owners manual and following 20 year old supposedly tried and proven instructions on mixing the correct ratios for fuel? I learned the hard way. I buy cases of the Yamaha lube in the small containers that all is required is one bottle of the stuff to 5 gallons of gas. Its barney proof for my old ass.
  10. I am wondering at what altitude you plan on doing most of your riding. Here in Denver area we are so high that a larger carb I think would not do much good. I just bought a long skidplate underarmor system due to the damn rocks. I wanted the T-5 pipes and the custom seat for my New Banshee but I felt like the protection was better suited first. I hear that the biggest bang in performance with a banshee can be the T-5 pipes and porting the heads. At least that is what these banshee masters here say. If you are at sea level then the carbs may help if it is ported to flow the higher rates. The thing about larger carbs I believe is, The cc of the cylinders and flow capicities of the ports will normally dictate the maximum flow of the carbs sizing. " The same goes with a Hotrod car engine. placing a Holly 1100 cfm carb on a Ford 351 cleveland engine with stock bore and stock internals does not gain anything at all, when the max flow will be 780 cfm." Banshee masters please correct me if I am wrong. I believe this is the case here in his situation. If you are still not yet considering a port job just yet, I would opt for the pipes according to your riding style, (new chain, maybe a larger rediater "if needed" and possibly a real good carb syncronization, and of course a K&N air filter. You may also nee to rejet for the pipes most likely as part of this process. Have fun.
  11. Hell yea. Run her till she breaks, then you will know what to fix. Its a man toy for heavens sakes. Play with her and dont worry about specifics. When you can no longer have the reliability you once had, then see about a new top end. Ride my man Ride on.
  12. Try babbits instead of bike bandit. The interactive supply system is realtime whereas bike bandit you must fill out a wish list to see if they have it. The decals are all the same for your model year. If there are any differences they will specify. They are way too expensive for most of us.
  13. $400.00; There is no way you can get brand new Yamaha plastics for $400.00. They run right at $900.00 with the high priced shipping from Canada, not TROY. Search the threads, someone allready asked about these orange plastics including myself and the decals alone will choke you to buy them. Locate the thread here on the HQ and there is a parts list with prices on it. Find a border area Canadian dealer on the web and call them. They will ship them to you for the freight charges. Goood luck
  14. I checked it out. It is legit. Ive already bought a brand new one last year "2006 model". But man what a new great deal. This may be the very last one in the USA at a dealership. Now if I can just sell a couple other polaris ATV`s I could swing this. Someone should snatch this one up quickly if they had the means to do so.
  15. Hey guys I just found a new Banshee for sale. Its E-bay listing # Item number: 250373347656 Check it out. I thought I bought the last one last year.
  16. Damn; Free parts and no takers? Then Im throwing them away as I dont need them Delete this thread entirely
  17. Hello; I saw some Lager chassis on E-bay the other day as a buy it now option. i dont know if its the exact type of lager set up you are looking for, but for that 3,000 dollar range its too steep for me.
  18. Thanks guys I made a shock spacer today out of solid stock I had. This post can be deleted now.
  19. Im guessing 15-20 bucks. Paypal 20 bucks to me and I will refund what ever is left back to your account. That way I dont have to drive all the way across town to the post office just for a box weigh in. Ill send it snail mail 4th class if ya want.
  20. I cruzed through the photos and never did see any Pink Banshee, There was a cool grey one. I said damn she rides that bike... Great joke on the clan.
  21. I replaced those as well. One side had dog chew marks on them and the other side was broken near where it plugs onto the rubber gromets in the heal guard area. You would not want them I promise.
  22. I have some extra heel guards that i removed from my Shee. Free for the taking. Just pay the shipping for them.
  23. I e-mailed that guy like an hour ago. I only need one bushing for the lower side of a front shock. I have a replacement shock, but it has no steel bushing in the lower area. whom ever removed it let it fall out before i got it.
