In a real world $1,500 I have a 1995 purple banshee with the original yellow wheels. Its really nice and I gave 1,400 for it with new rear tires, a new chain and T-5 toomeys pipes on it. My next door neighbor just paid 2,000 for a 2005 red and white banshee. (it had the fenders chopped off and a stupid twist throttle on it and needs tires but what a nice bike as well. Just a thought. Have a nic e day

Hello all: I just had to cut a front shock off my older Shee. The steel bushing was warped in such a way that I couldnt even hammer the bolt out. I have a replacement shock but no bushing and shocks are expensive and I cant afford a new set of shocks right now. If anyone has it in thier good heart to sacrifice an old front shock for me Id be happy to pay for it. Thanks. Ray.

How long has it been sitting? Also, If its not yours....do have permission to be messing with someone elses she? If you have the go, ahead, I am assuming that the carbs are pluged up with that heavy oil mixture you have in it. Use 40 to 1 ratio with an entire tank of high octane fuel in it to begin with. Make sure this mixture is dead on accurate as not to burn it up. If it still wont start, and the "new, & dry " plugs are finally getting wet with the new fuel. i would then assume that its timing, carb adjustment or maybe the cylinder pressure being too low but I doubt it. There are other real experts here that are Masters at this trouble shooting area. One final thought, Try following all troubleshooting proceedures from 1st to last step and record the process as you do it. Then after most all have been completed you can come back here and get real professional help from one of the resident experts here. Good luck

Better yet: Every new bike I get , I first scrub the shit out of it, do all the maintenance, hit all the rust areas, and pull off all the plastics to really shine her up good. Then take note of any descrepancies like needs new air filter, plugs, wiring harness or throttle cable and fix that first. Next, service the brakes, clutch adjustments and shock adjustments for your body weight. The best is to flush the engine with new oil and ride for only a few hours and flush it again. This will remove any residual metal filings that have collected in the crank case over the years from the previous owner who may or may not have done any services at regular intervals. Then get a professional polisher 7 inch variable speed type, slap on some wax and polish the hell out of the plastic, moving the buffer all the time while polishing or it will burn it. Order a carb syncronizer tool or vacum tool as shown on the BansheeHQ website. Finally , get the pipes, jet kit, and K&N filter assembly put on, remove the snorkel off the top of the air box and drill about 6 1/2 inch holes through the top of the air box to get more air. (Note: only drill through the first layer of the top of the airbox lid.) Finally, Install the jets, install the carb adjustment screws that usually come with a TORS eliminater kit. syncronize the carbs and you should be able to crank her with your bare hand when adjusted properly with only one crank of the wrist. Enjoy the She man; Have fun with her and after a few months you will know what else you will want to do to her. You will also know your riding styles and riding areas preferences by then. WEAR A HELMET, (DOT AND SNELL aproved). Welcome to the brotherhood of the most exiting ATV ever. I waited for over 20 years to finally own one. I rode one of the first to hit teh showrooms back in Christmas of 1986. I said that one day I would have one. I now have two, recently and finally purchased after all these years of wanting one. with that said, I will never EVER sell them. Yours is a really nice bike man. Cherish the fun times. I know I do each and every ride.

WOW; thats exactly what I had in mind, but with the purest Yamaha features and Banshee looks if its possible. DDDDAAAAAAMMMM. This is some cool discussion for a change. Last night I also saw an APRILLA 500 cafe racer with some 500cc 2 stroke motor cramed in the chassis. I just think that the "SUPER BANSHEE" would look really cool. Id love to see the 4 pipes custom fitted through the chassis like the RZ500 has. I figure if I can get the good stock bore motor and good stock carbs with wiring harness for under say $3,000 then the project is a go for me. I would do one for reliability, that is why I would go bone stock with only a custom set of reeds and pipes.
-
I just got back from the above suggested website. The rdrz500.com site. Its really promising as it seems that they have located a guy that specializes in these custom built racing pipes for the RZ500 bikes and special fab work is his thing. They also have a few bikes for under $9,000 and a few in the $6,000 range I could get a whole bike and part it out , sell the rest and still be ok. Thoughts?

Hey thanks guys for the encouragement. I never said I wanted a death trap fastest thing on the planet quad....Just something really different. I just checked out RZ500 performance here in the states. I also just checked on E-bay and there is a guy in Australia who builds custom RZ500 mod bikes that I think i can get some leads from. I want a good reliable stock RZ-500 engine and just have custom built pipes made for it to have it look like some proto type "super Banshee" kind of theme.

I saw a Yamaha RZ-500 sell the other day for $6,500 in really outstanding shape while another one was attempting to get over 20 grand for his....yea good luck with that one there buddy. I saw some case halves for about $250.00 for that motor. The only thing is Babbits doesnt sell parts for it because it is not USA supported. I would have to locate the original service manual for it.....I only use factory manuals, plus...I guess that I would have to go over seas to find one. I wonder if they made these for export to Australia. I have an Aunt that lives there. The more I think about it ... The more I want to do it.

Here is the way I look at it. Hell ive got a whole garage full of ATV`s 2 Banshees, 1 polaris scrambler 400, 1 Polaris Trailboss 250 for the wife, one little pristine Honda TRX 70 for my 7 year old. Crap Im just wondering if I should get the motor 1st, then find a roller Banshee Chassis and go from there. Hell Tate lives here in the Denver area , so after its modified, I could get him to put the sick powdercoating from hell on it. The hard parts I am thinking will be the custom pipes through the chassis frame. I would have to out source this to a fab shop that specializes in pipes. Ahhh what the hell, I waited my whole adult life just to own a Banshee while I was Active Duty Marine Corps. I think that now that I have the time, It would be the ultimate project. i just wonder about how much that sort of engine(complete " would cost???? $2,000 $4,000 any thoughts or guestimates?

I have this wild Idea that The HQ gurus should build a "SUPER BANSHEE". Take a good, hard to come by Yamaha RZ500 "4 cylinder 2 stroke engine and sandwich it in a banshee frame. I saw a Hayabusa engine in if I remember correctly, a CanAm chassis yesterday on E-bay. Looked cool but for us Banshee enthusiasts, Wow what a concept. Forget about turbo charging, supercharging, or even the fuel injection I have listened to some rave about. Back to basics....Historical two stroke power from hell I say. What are the possibilities do you all think??? Could It be done I just wonder.

Anyone ever been accused of owning stolen Banshee
R. Rollins replied to F!NE DR!VE's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I cant believe what I am hearing. Let one of your Banshees get stolen and you would all gather like hens and start cackling about the F##$%&*! thief that stole it. If he has a bill of sale from the flea market then he can get his $900.00 back in court. If he didnt get one he is a dumb ass plain and simple. So what the accuser is some crack head. He called the cops with enough enthusiam did he not? Didnt the Rookie get arrested for something else with ownership? Pretty shady I think. The police will investigate period. Dont add to the shit by telling him some crazy assed sea lawyer stories and place him in jeapordy if he acts on the stupid advise you offer against the law. I would be alarmed at any $900.00 Banshee that ran and would demand all kinds of proof that it was legit before I purchased. Any court will not convict the rookie if he is legit. -
is engine ice worth the money?
R. Rollins replied to bansheejoel's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Yea that Redline water wetter is awesome stuff. I ran a military test with this stuff in the radiator in Yuma Arizona a few years ago In the Marines and the USMC LAV(Light Armored Vehicles) averaged 15 degrees cooler in teh dessert under high stress engine conditions. Note: we also had the vehicles in the cold chamber out at the YPG Yuma Proving grounds and temperatures were 25degrees below zero F. That stuff is prof to me that it works. We had more test engineers on the LAV testing than you could shake a stick at. True it was no Banshee test but when temperature sensors noted the measurable difference I believed it. R. Rollins -
The maier plastics are thin as hell, the edges are sharp and unrefined. I bought a set for my sons little TRX-70 and they show thin spots through them with bright lights on them. Plus they already have a crack and they have never been ridden with since they were mounted. I should have just spent the extra money on original plastics. The 2008 Banshee Yamaha original plastics will be expensive once they are available. However the NOS and New Yamaha plastics are far superior in thickness and quality Ill bet. Contact a Canadian dealer directly over the phone. They will in turn contact Japan for a special order. The parts numbers are not yet available through Canadian dealers as they are using the USA software ordering system for parts orders. You may have to speak to teh Manager of the dealership for this as the regular parts guys may not wish to screw with this process. I will wait until this summer then order some for myself. ....by then they will be able to get this in place im sure. R. Rollins

Sorry man about your problems; I just got mine as well...Brand new out of the crate; I did tell them that Id better see the torque paint on every bolt on it verifying it was ready to ride. Also there is only a 90 day warranty on all two stroke bikes. This will get you fixed up for now. Mine is spitting up oil only because I put in 16:1 ratio oil mix for the first 8 hours of riding to break her in. She hates the rich mixture. Im changing to 24:1 ratio for the next 8 hours. Also be advised that after 4 hours of run time there will be alot of shavings in the oil until breakin is complete. (change the oil often , after every 6-8 hours of run time.) Good luck. R. Rollins

should i trade stock banshee for all doneup quadzilla.
R. Rollins replied to pasedogg's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I dont know about you all; But I waited 13 long years while in the Corps to finally own the best ATV on the planet. The Banshee. I told my wife every tax season that I was going to get a Banshee but something always came up. Patiently I waited and last year I traided my only other love my Yamaha waveraider jet ski to finally get a Banshee. Still undaunted by the prospect of never owning a brand new Banshee because they quit selling them new after 2006 i started searching for a brand new one three weeks ago. It took me a whole week 4 hours per day and I finally found one in Chyenne Wyoming with only 4.99% financing and still in the crate. I am staring at both of my Banshees right now. The (barney purple and yellow 1995 model and the brand new 2006 50th aniversary model (yellow and Black one). They will have to shoot my crazy US Marine Corps ass to pry thes babys out of my grasp. i think all sellers of Banshees are friggin crazy. Id never do it not in a million years. The thrill of the stock smoothness of an unaltered un broken in Banshee in un comparable. When shee is finally broken in for this season Ill hop it up with some pipes, a good set of Dessert lights, 200watt stator, K&N filter and maybe a nice couple of American safety flags and a 6 pack rack for the ass end. For me thats all I need in life after a war zone and life of hardships in the Marine Corps. I hope you can all see the beauty in this wonderful Banshee for the masters whom designed them. (A timeless classic to still be reconed with) The shee will run the roost in my book. -
For Colorado; The ATV registration decals pay for the access to the approved riding trails in Colorado. It helps pay for upkeep and trash being dumped in the parks areas , the sewage removal for the shit houses, the phamplets with maps of trails, the park ranger payroll etc. Its a good thing as it helps maintain our right to access this public land. Not registering just prevents you the access to those areas. If you are lucky to not need to register, then so be it. This is just like a hunting permit, If you play in these areas you gotta help pay for the upkeep. Also most registrations are good in all states. By me registering in colorado like with a boat, I can still be alowed access in another state to launch a boat and go boating. Most ATV``rs resist the registration process because they dont need to ride the state maintained trails system nor approved parks that allow ATV`s on them. Instead they know some rich guy with land and ride on private land......Plus racers dont need to register as they race only and dont ride the pleasure trails. It cost me $125.00 to register all of my ATV`s for the whole family. I can eat that much in junk food. ......Its like a tank and a half of gas......big frickin deal...... I like the access to the extra 400+ miles of Colorado riding areas. Well worth the 25.00 per ATV cost. Plus the park rangers dont have any reason to screw with me because they can see the decal. R. I bought a perfect condition 1995 Banshee ( granted that it is Barney Purple) it is in immaculate condition. All for 1,500.00. So be careful and check around. Dont pay more than NADA value for it. Yhat is unless it has aftermarket stuff all over it. Then take the value of the aftermarket stuff and depreciate the value of the parts according to the age of the extra stuff. Then you can make teh owner a fair knowledged based offer as an informed consumer that is not about to be suckered. Final Thought: They made more Banshees than any other ATV period. They are out there in piles.... R. Rollins sends...

What Are You Paying For Dyno Runs
R. Rollins replied to Old Two-Smoke's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Hey Is that Dyno Tune in Cheynne by chance? I am in Thornton, Colorado and its not too far if it is. Thanks -
Dang it; Thats the same deal with my brand new 1 hour old 2006 Banshee. I was afraid to ride it due to all of teh noise. My 1995 Shee is alot smoother and quieter due to the large center aftermarket chain slider. The new Banshee has this cylindrical piece of crap teflon slider that has no bearings on it so it just seems to be eating into the swing arm.. I have only played with it in front of the house but ill bet that its the same with me in relation to your problems mentioned earlier. Thanks alot for all of teh great advise.

1987 Banshee roller for sale
R. Rollins replied to bansheefever1's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Same here; I paid 1,500.00 for my whole 1995 Banshee and she is in outstanding condition. It may be Barney purple....but its alot better than a simple old roller frame. The right amount for that old frame set up is in the 500.00 area. Or shall we all say the fair range for buyer and seller. -
