The DMC pipes are definately loud as all hell. The deal now will be shortly that as far as my new DMC 916 pipes are concerned and many others. In 2010 they will be doing alot of noise testing at all state riding areas and the high decibles that my pipes put out cannot be tamed down with any add on hush kit as far as I know of. I havent checked in at least a few months on any availibility of them either. These pipes are way louder than my t-5 series pipes on stock Banshees. Good luck in your research.

You have to provide these guys more info than that. For instance: Where are you located and what elevation are you at? What jets are you running? Are the carbs clean and syncronized: In other words do both carb sliders go up at exactly the same time? Are they the stock carbs? What all mods can you see if you just recently got that bike? Info like this is very helpful in determining what all advise the gurus are to provide to you. Let them know what sort of experience you have in bikes , carbs etc and they can be very specific or can just give you a ballpark of ideas to help you. Get yourself a manual if you dont allready have one and it does wonders for your baseline information. Tell us more>>>>>>>> good luck :cool:

I disagree with the DMC-916 pipes being good all around. I also have a set of T-5 pipes on my other Banshee. The DMC-916 is a very loud as hell top end only pipe in my opinion. I just bought a new set from them and worry about those noise restrictions next year. It seems that it only wants to scream out of the box and wants a heck of alot orf RPM for trails. It will tear your ears off with the scream even with a spark arrester. Now the T-5 pipes seem to be a mid to top end pipe as well. Its just my opinion though. :cool:

You should get yourself a kit off of Ebay that has many different sized jets in it for the Banshee. It will run about $35.00 plus shipping costs. Then Id start at 300 and plug check on down until you get her dialed it right. I am at 270 on mine here for Waldon at 7400 feet at teh dunes here in Colorado. Dont start lean as you could damage the cylinders and overheat her in seconds. The pain in the ass part is removing the carms multiple times changing the jets out. Look for the correct light brown color with a touch of moisture from fuel on the ceramic portion for a close set up. Each time you change to a smaller jet size you will need to run it wide open for at least a 1/2 mile stretch, pull in the clutch and turn off the ignition switch and check the plug. Note: there is a more exacting way listed in your clymer manual, but that is pretty much a good rough way to do it. :cool:

I have just returned from my first duning run with my new DMC-916 pipes on the new Banshee. It is loud as hell and really screams with power that pulls the wheels off the ground in at least 1st and second with third a close hard pull almost off the ground on take off. The thing that is concerning is that even with the spark arrestor kit the pipes are loud and will not pass next years noise testing mandated 96DB that comes out next year. This pipe set will blow your ears off. I would love to see a hush kit for it but dont know if they have made them for these new style pipes just yet. These pipes are a remake of an older design. They have a cheap very light chrome job so if show chrome is what you expect then you will have to shell out another 300 bucks and get them done yourself at your local chromer. I also have T-5 Toomys on my other Banshee and they work great. Both a top end pipe set up so if you run trails alot and need low end then I havent any recomendations because I have only these two to critique on. Note: the T-5 pipes have the hush kit available for them that should meet the noise standards for next year. Good luck :cool:

The monster Energy drink thing has been done many times before. Its personal opinion of yourself that really matters in choosing what sort of gimic or theme you will use. Good luck. :cool:

I tried the same by doing it myself and it is not a fun deal. I learned that for 4 dollars per tire that Discount Tire will do it for a whole lot less hastle. :cool:

Here is one for you: My dad just turned 80 years old and cant get enough of my Banshees. He has a 2000 model Kawasaki 220 ATV and he only wants to ride the Banshee up at Waldon when we go. I barely got him off for a ride myself. He likes riding fast across the flat areas on the sand. I only hope I am that spry when I get that old. :cool:

I wrote the management as I could hardly believe that they would be so bad to a customer like that. I got a response from the management on the subject that basically states that he got the wheel and tires that he ordered. They were shipped out the same day. If there would have been a question on what he ordered then he could have had the sales person e-mail him a reciept with the part number on it. Ill not drag this down any further but I have the official reply on how the order went down on my e-mail. I would suggest to anyone ordering from personal experience that they should have the sales person repeat back the part numbers to you before it is charged on the card.. This is now a dead issue. I am plesantly suprised at how CASCADE conducted themselves in response to my questions about its customer service practices. I would not hesitate to do business with this company in the future. Concrete messing with fuel purity, while its in a gas can.......??????? You must mean taking a battery out of a vehicle and setting it directly onto concrete and leaving it sit will drain energy from a battery. Fuel stabilizer will help if say (stabil) is added every few months in small amounts to the mixture. Hell If you ride in the dessert you can ride early in the morning around 5 am out there and ride till almost 10am without baking too bad. You could then head into Yuma, Arizona or El-Centro, California for the day and spend it at the pool till late in the evening and ride again. (Just a thought.....) :biggrin:

Float valve/ needle valve....Change it out in the carb and get new gaskets of course. You will get this licked quickly. "dont forget to set your float height and float drop measurements accordingly". Get it ON.... :cool:

OK: Here is my last take on it: Think about it....He supposedly rebuilt it and it only has 115 pounds of cold compression. It sounds like he just put on a new piston without taking the jugs and having them machined to fit the piston....(But thats my opinion) It also sounds like he didnt split the cases and fix the kickstart spring as he should have because he didnt really know how. (again, just my opinion)....sort of a half assed attempt to do a top end overhaul. Looks do not make up for a whole lotta work on the heart of the beast to get her up to snuff. I would again look at that other one I saw on that website and get a good runner, detail it to the hilt and resell it. It sounds like you are only out for a quick turnaround anyways so why waist alot of your time screwing with a project like that unless you would keep it for yourself. Your heart will not be in it at all; so just get a good stock machine and do a quick turn around after dressing it up and make you some quick cash. :biggrin:

Yea; $800 sounds about right for the misleading he did af first on it to ya. At least at that price you can start over and build what you really want. I would show him cold cash in the offer. :cool:

There is a white Banshee on that Kajiji website that has a 1999 model for I believe it was 2,700. It is in really good condition. I thought you were here in the states so that $2,700 Banshee may be a better deal that I saw on the website there. I would at least check out the other options on local listings over say a months time before deciding on a project bike for that price. Just my opinion though.....Good luck anyhow. :cool:

Are the idle and fuel mixture screws exactly the same as when you took the carb apart? I would check the manual for the baseline settings on these. Also did you use a new float needle and orifice when you rebuilt the carbs? Some older honda carbs have a metal needle point whereas newer ones are rubber tipped. Did you adjust the throttle cable so that the slack is taken out of the cable and the carb slider is responsive without alot of slack? Im thinking its something with the carb,.......try checking how rich the plug looks as well. (I would even try a "plug chop proceedure" to check how lean or rich its running) Post your results here soon. It almost sounds like there is either too much gas in the float bowl or too little fuel in the bowl to cause that problem going into a sharp corner. Others chime in on thier opinions.

If it looks good it just may be a good deal. Does it have low hours or the original tires on it? Is the whole bike meticously clean throughout? Is there any rust on it? That gives away maltreatment or poor upkeep on the bike. What does the compression check out to be? Is the plastic in good condition? (New plastic runs about $525.00 plus about $75.00 for shipping. Are the rims bent? They arnt cheap either. Check out the chain and chain sliders for excessive wear. Note any damage from a chain breakage near teh fromt sprocket area. Check out the condition of the suspension and bushings. If all checks out and it runs good then its a pretty good deal I would think. :cool:

I think along the lines of these guys: That Banshee still needs work and the guy wants that much for it. He really hasnt proved it runs has he? I would offer him $1,700 for it and leave it at that. I see these bikes around here in Denver for 1800 on up to 2500 in great shape all the time. You had better be sure on the engine deal. :ermm:

You will only get out of the job what you put into it as far as effort goes. If you want a rattle can look with overspray all over other parts then get some newspaper and masking tape, clean it good, mask it off and spray as best as you can. If you really want the beast to look really good, then there is no substitute for taking her apart and bagging all your bolts into ziplock bags and laying it all out in the garage floor and doing a good bead blasting of the frame and having it powdercoated or painted professionally. The finish will last longer, you will appreciate it better and it will look outstanding. You know yourself better than we do so you must make up your mind if you want it to be done right or half assed. :ermm: You can do it, just take your time, label everything and bag every bolt and nut with the component you dissassembled.

Damned it all. I wondered why I couldn't tell that you had used lower cased letters at the beginning of all your whinning sentences. Why you stuck your nose in my DMC916 business was obvious. You evidently knew enough about the whole DMC fuckin show that you had to offer up your knowledge on it all. We all just thought that we were stupid for buying them without getting them blinged up like yours and thought that we all payed to much. Forgive us for not being as smart as you are. It must be the hard work you are doing for your company today instead of doing your job that interferres with your common sense.
