  1. I could push mine alot faster than that but they wont do it by themselves.
  2. I think I'm going to get these as well. Had my mind set on doing a cub but I think these would suit my riding style better. I'm kind of on the same page as Jeff, I want to see what they will do on a low/mid setup . I have everything to set this up already so its worth a shot, I'd have to get different pipes if I went with the cub anyway so whatever happens I wont be out anything . I just think they will be a much more versatile cylinder that can be used for different riding environments by simply swapping out a few bolt on parts. No one will ever make a magic cylinder that will make awesome power everywhere you would ever want it but from what i'm seeing these should be damn good for me. I'd also like to think they'd make a hell of a good hillclimbing motor.
  3. You will probably need to get the cable adjusters that go into the carb caps with longer treads than the regular ones, thats what i got. ( sorry my brain is fried today and cant remember what they are called)
  4. 34 and live in N.W. Iowa.
  5. If you know you have spark I would concentrate on the carbs first. If its been sitting for any amount of time they will need a good cleaning anyway so it wont hurt anything. If by chance you had ethanol in it you could very well have a stuck needle i the seat or plugged up circuits . Its worth a check.
  6. If anyone has a good pair of oem cylinders ported for a 4 mill (the right way) that you want to get rid of send me a PM. I need an aggressive dune port or mild drag port. Send pictures and let me know bore size and who did the porting, no junk please. Thanks.
  7. Sorry man, I think I misunderstood your post, anyway I dont know exactly what your asking about the piston sizes. .020 is 20 thousandths overbore .030 is 30 thousandths over etc. You may also find them marked in millimeters such as .25, .5, 1, or 2. Anyway you dont have to worry about any of that, your macine shop will determine what is necessary to "klean up" the cylinders. Hope that helped, if not someone else can jump in.
  8. First off you really need to read up on two stroke engines or just take it to someone who has experience with them, it's not like a four stroke at all and you cant determine low compression by how easy it is to move the kicker. Granted it probably is low if its not had a top end for a long time. As for your question, bore the minimum. You gain little if any power by the overbore and all you do is shorten the usable life of the jugs.
  9. $2500 sounds more like it around this area although the shocks help the value in my opinion, I wouldnt want to have to buy them new.
  10. Your probably a little lean on the main jet, With fattys I was at 300 on the main at 1400 ft 80 degrees or so. Start a little high and get your main dialed in first and then work the pilot and needles if needed.
  11. The 110 wont hurt anything and I'd say you should be running a 50/50 blend of the 91 and 110 anyway with the 19cc domes.
  12. Thats a good question, Ive heard bad things about RM stator and Ricky Stator so I bought a Moose and it might be going bad. I'd say if you dont need a higher wattage stator, ante up and buy a stock Yamaha stator.
  13. Alright, I'm going to check it out tomorrow and see what I can find. Been busy today and didnt get time. If my new stator is bad I'm gonna be pissed.
  14. Went for a ride last night and noticed that my headlights were going on and off by themselves. I looked it over real good and couldnt find any loose connections or obvious shorts/ melted wires. Tonight I went out and started it up to go for a ride, the lights came on normally but after a few seconds shut completely off. I rev it a little and they come back on. I did this a few times then that stopped working so I wound the shit out of it and they came on nice and bright but as soon as I let off the throttle they shut off again. Any ideas what this could be? Voltage regulator going bad? Its a 250 watt moose stator, stock regulator, stock bulbs but I'm only pulling off one output wire so I think its just 100 Watts.
  15. Its a 250 watt Moose stator. Do you still run 100 LL . How do you like it , burns dry doesnt it?
  16. It had been a few years since I rode it (stock with the pc's) but I remember it pulled real good up top. I just built the stroker last year and never did get it dialed in, this was the first time I have had it out this year. I have been riding the other one though and that is like flipping on a light switch just at low to mid revs then it peters out too but thats just how those pipes are. On the 4 mill the exhaust note just sounds too low and dull compared to what it should. I'll check the electrical today, I put that big stator on and maybe something is wrong with it. I shouldnt have said my carbs are set, they might not be. I thought I had them good when I put it away last fall and then jetted by temp the other day and ended up with 158 mains, cel middle, 60 degrees yesterday at 1400 ft, running straight 110 because I didnt have any regular gas to blend with and cant get a good plug reading( it always looks like its lean but if it was I would have melted it down yesterday)
  17. Took the old slut for a spin tonight (4 mill) and something isnt right. It just wont rev out like it should. From about quarter to half its not too bad, just not snappy like it should be and starting at 3/4 it just seems restricted to wot. The motor isnt running out of power of falling flat its just like the power hasnt really come on fully and then no over rev at all, I held wot for a long time in 6th and she'll just hold her max rpm and cruise but I can tell its not winding out near enough.I'm shifting through the gears really quick because its reaching its max rpm so fast, seriously like brap brap brap brap brap braaaap and your there, maxed out but not winding out. Twice it kicked in good for just a couple seconds, once in 4th about 3/4 throttle it pulled the front up and I had to back out of it and once in 5th when I shifted from 4th and pinned it she come up a foot or so other than that, not too good. I'm fairly confident that I have my carb setup right, Im at +4 on the plate and have tried both the stock curve and curve 3 on the dyna with little noticeable difference if any. I'm to the point where I honestly think I need more pipe, I think the pc's are holding it back. What do you think? And then as it got darker out I noticed my lights going on and off, not a flicker really just like off on off on. Could be a loose connection but I doubt it.
  18. My buddies and I used to run from the cops for fun when we were young and stupid. We would actually go out and try to get them to chase us but that was back when there were no stiff fines or penalties and even if I did get caught I knew the police would just tell our parents that we didnt stop for them...big deal. They dont give up so easy now and the penalties for eluding an officer where I live are quite severe. I agree that most laws are stupid yet I try to abide by some of them but what pisses me off is that here it is illegal to ride an atv or offroad dirtbike on a gravel road or even the ditch yet all the farmers can get away with driving them where ever they want (even racing around town). Now I cant even role mine out of the garage without having a cop stop at my house and tell me that they have had complaints about someone riding a 4 wheeler around town, just assuming it was me because mine look fast or something when it is really a young farm kid flying around on some junk honda. A couple days ago it happened again and I told him that I dont ride in town or on paved streets but if I wanted to I would and If I were to get caught I would gladly accept the ticket and pay my fine. I dont need to run from the cops because I can afford to be an asshole but I dont recommend you run anymore because they know who you are now and wont be so easy on you the next time. There are very few things that are more exciting than running from the police and making a clean getaway but once they know who you are its no longer clean.
  19. Thats a kick ass looking Banshee for a girl, the Blaster too. I'd like to do a Blaster like that for my daughter in dark purple.
  20. Not too sure what you mean by angle and not familiar with the use of Blaster pistons but for the longer rod the piston pin location will need to be higher up towards the crown and for the added stroke you're domes have to be cut for it. If you use a dome for a stock stroke on a 4 mill you'll have a nice pile of junk in a hurry. Hope that answers it.
  21. Yep, go with Weisco, they cost no more than anything else in the long run.
  22. I also agree with this, it's just one step up from "banshee dude".

Thats one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen, and I've seen some weird shit.
  24. If your cylinder walls are not scored ,pistons look good, and as long as the guy that ports it doesn't nick them you shouldn't need anymore than a light hone, a set of rings, and the gaskets that you'll have to get anyway. I guess what im trying to say is , if it needs a top end it's going to need it weather you get it ported or not and as long as it's apart you might as well through a set of rings at it. Lost my internet connection and was too late...Yeah what alf says.
  25. Thats good, I like that.
