This would have been nice to have seen about a month ago.

An increase in temperature from a 9 degree change in timing would be normal but since you replaced the impeller just make sure your full of coolant and dont have a air lock. I would check your jetting for sure!
$60-$80 bore and hone plus the price of your pistons and rings v.s. $300 on up for good cylinders alone. If you want to save some money and be ahead of the game find someone on here that is selling a good used ported set with pistons and get yourself a new set of rings and call it good.
Does anyone here have any experience or knowledge about Duncan's "national" porting besides the price. Seems like everyone that runs it wins in all types of racing from tt to hillclimb to Baja. I know they know there shit and have built a good name for themselves but why dont more people on here run there cylinders.
They are called cylinders or jugs. It would be way cheaper to have yours bored and get new pistons and rings but if you just want to get ready to go parts to bolt on and go you should be able to find something on here or a top end set on ebay.
Yes, I have PJ's on it and on the bike that I have stock carbs on I dont use them at all. I dont think there is any gain at all, it lengthens your intake tract a quarter inch or so but Im not sure that has any effect on a 2 stroke.
And that's the only way with what you have, It's going to take alot more than gearing and pipes to beat a full yosh LTR . It's not going to happen without porting unless it's by accident.
I doubt it.
