  1. i should have taken pics.. i will take pics when it comes back apart for the bore job.. gonna go ride tomorrow.. i used a dremed with the flex shaft attatchment.. i used the stones for sharpening chains saw.. they are long and slender(size of the lead inside a pencil, maybe a lilttle bigger) they work great for the corners also.. also used some angled small stones for the intake. and used sanding drums for the exhaust.. i am really happy.. it rips hard right off idle and pulls smooth and strong throughout entire rpm range.. it also looked very clean and neat.. i also bead blasted everything(except the exhaust) after i was done..
  2. i have heard a rumor that the tranny will screw up from on roading to much.. i don't see how..
  3. well the rings that where on it where shot.. i had some low hour >020 over rings i used.. the pistons still had a lot of slap in the bores.. at idle the motor is a little noisy(rattle) so i am assuming a rebore is in need.. no worries though.. i have 2 more sets of virgin cylinders (stock bore and port) .. i am proud of my port job though.. the results that i got are the ones i was after.
  4. what do you mean?? i think u may have misunderstood what i did.. my shee was together and running.. i had an extra set of used cylinders and pistons on the shelf, which are the ones i ported.. they where at .020 over.. when i was done porting them i switched them out on my shee to see how they ran.. they ran great but compression is a bit low.. so i will pull them back off to have them bored to get my compression back up..
  5. well i started a thread a while back about home porting my cylinders.. i finished them up the other day.. i knife edged the transfers, opened them up and smoothed them, did the intake the same way, and opened the exhaust up and polished it.. i also widened the transfer port windows a little bit.. i put them on and wow.. the topend has less compression than my other set of cylinders(they need bored) but ir runs very well.. very responsive.. the power seem to come on very quick(right off idle almost) and it pulls hard .. the powerband is more broad than before.. i am very satisfied and do not regret what i did to them(must have done something right i supose).. i will pull them back off soon to send them in for a bore job(just wanted to see if i liked them before spending the money on a bore job.. ) just wanted to share that with u guys.
  6. wheres the best place to getem?? are they a drop in part or do i need to do any mods to makem fit?
  7. what are these 1000 fibers that you speak of?? that from a crotch rocket or something?? and if so why do you use them?? advantages??
  8. anyone at all?? i would also just sell this one to buy me another...
  9. i have a +4 lonestar swingarm(round housing) i want to trade for a +2.. doesn't have to be a lonestar but the same quality.. it has about 12 hours of use.. very very clean.. still looks brand new.. it is on my cub'd shee but i can not hook up with the +4.. so a +2 would be great.. i am howver keeping my carrier and brake bracket. . just wanna swap arms.. let me know i can send pics
  10. i have a set of old style front hubs, i powdercoated them chrome, and they wouldn't fit my bike.. they are real nice.. interested?
  11. i wonder if he has been putting straight gas in it?? i bet he thinks that the silencers are stopped up, and thats the reason the headers swelled up on him.. what a asshat
  12. i have some lrd's . they have been welded up and painted black,, honestly they look like shit! but would be a cheap alternative to stock.. no silencers though..
  13. i know where u can get a goat!! lmfao
  14. i decided not to mess with the exhaust ports.. i did however slightly widen the tranfers to add some tourqe.. i did not widen them toward the exhaust port.. only towards the intake port.. nothing drastic.. i chamfered the ports and lightly honed the cylinders, the pistons have a little wobble, but i am going to put them on anywa just to see how they run before getting them bored..
  15. i called him, sarah answered the phone and said he was busy.. lmfao
  16. PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT!! LISTEN UP EVERYONE.. ANDREW BALLARD IS GAY!! LMFAO! oh yeah, and his shee is slow
  17. well i ported a set of cylinders i had laying around.. i opened the transfers just a tad and smoothed them up(they have a ruff finish for atomization) i also smoothed out the intake the same way openeing it just a tad. i got the exhaust ports nice and smoothed and also opened them up a tad.. what i am wondering is what effect will raising the exhaust port 1mm have?? i know it makes it pipey and takes away lowend.. but what effect would just raising it 1mm have??gonna trail ride and race some.. i have toomey t5's 19ccdomes. +5 timing, reeds, and a 2 into1 with a 35mm pwk
  18. i have some 17 and 16cc domes drew.. lol.. make it rip hard dude.. lmao
  19. right now i have a 35 pilot, dej needle, and a 155 main.. seems like it would be lean as hell but its not.. any clue?? can the needle cause this?? i have a set of 33mm pwks on my cub motor and i run a 148 main, it runs sweet, plugs read perfect on it also..
  20. hey thanx for the info.. it currently has a dej needle.. i ordered a dek and a eek from carbparts.com this morning... i have heard that the eek is the best to go with and tune from there.. whats your opinion on the eek?
  21. also if its a ricky stator do not be surprised if it is bad.. i have a buddy that bought a new ricky stator assembly with timing plate, they obviously didn't tighten the 3 bolts that hold the stator to the timing plate and it came loose, the flywheel tore one of the coils up on the stator, he sent it back(it was brand new) with the receipt and told them what happened, THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE IT, they said it looked like it was purposely tore up, wtf?? i will never buy anything from them.. and there stators are junk.. thats the 3rd one i have seen and all 3 were pieces of chit!.
  22. yea that flywheel will only go on one way. it has a woodruff key(halfmoon), also check the pickup coil, it should be about .020 between it and the tabs on the flywheel(the 2 rasied spots on the outside of the flywheel) line the flywheel tab up with the pickup, and loosen the pickup screw to adjust it. if it is too far away it will not run right or at all..
  23. damn thats cheap!!! i am surprised that you still own it at that price.. damit man!!
  24. stock port, t5's 19cc domes +5 timing, ram valve reeds, K&N, trail riding, open fields, occasional race.
  25. i was wrong on the pilot.. it is a 35.. do u think i should get a eek or a dek needle?? i have heard that the eek is the best for this setup.. i do have mains up to 180 to try.. what do u think on the pilot and needle?
