  1. Hey guys, thanks for both of your replies. Complete plastics look quite pricey, thats why i thought id just by the sheet and i try to cut it out myself to match the cover. Should be much cheaper, dont you think? Ill take it to some vinyl shops and they can apply it so i dont wreck it. http://www.decalfx.com/carbon_fiber_sheets.htm Any ideas which size at the above site should be enough? Thanks again
  2. Hello All, Its been a very long while, and im excited to be back to this community and to riding my shee. Ive been away for a while studying in australia, but ive got a chance to go back home. I saw a car that was completely customized with carbon fiber and i thought i'd do the same to my neglected shee. I know its expensive, so i was looking for a carbon fiber "look-alike" vinyl or decal kit. I found Decalfx.com but their mailing system seems down, and im not sure if they can help. Any of you guys have an idea where i can find what im looking for? A complete carbon fiber decal kit for my 2003 banhsee. DecalFx have the sheets and i guess i have to cut it out to match, but i wasnt sure which size would be enough for the entire shee (fenders + tank). Thanks
  3. Dont mean to be picky.. but : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-WISECO-...sspagenameZWDVW 6$ difference when shipped internationally.. i might still go with your friends website
  4. Thanks for all the input, ive been out even more on street now. I was riding behind a friend once and he was teaching me some new stuff beyond my very limited experience. They basically revolve around drag racing and how to make sure i shift fast enough so that i gain all speed i can. He told me to to push the throttle until the shee revs, then without releasing the throttle hold the clutch and shift fast, which makes the shee jump forward and even go faster.. At speeds i havent rode at :ermm: . I just installed new Barnett's and i do now wanna burn them cuz the shee screams hard when i do it.. any one does that.. there may be a term for this. but no idea once again .. you guys been big help
  5. ill start slapping anyone who says that then, if they say anything ill tell them to take it up with you guys ;p! I always thought there was something weird about that. Ahh my poor shee wont be resting then.. i usually wait for weekends to take it out to the desert and ride.. things ought to change now. thanks guys you prove to be helpful once again. off topic: im watching this video while im replying.. cracking me up.. its kinda old but you should see it if you havent already: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TW8UR81Us54
  6. hey guys, like it says. I hear many rumors that prolonged street riding hurts the banshee. I hear that its cuz the oil and and gas do not mix as much as well as in rigged terrain (desert). Ive always suspected, but is that true?
  7. Hey guys, a friend of mine is willing to install both Dyna Tek and a timing plate. (i have no idea what these are or what they do) he just wanted to know if its alright to install them both. He has currently these mods: Pro Circuit System + Silencers Vforce Reeds 3 slightly ported already timed thanks, again im a total noob and he just told me to ask you experts. Oh and im sorry if the lingo is different im translating what he told me exactly since i dont understand what he says ;p.
  8. I thought i'd keep this topic instead of creating a new one. here is an update of how things went: I drained the fuel tank and refilled it with someone elses premix. It didnt smoke on his shee but did with mine. I guess that is because of the 1:1 i mixed it still needs more time to burn. However whats killing me is it fouled plugs before i changed the oil, but now it only fouls the left hand plug. Its killing me. As for the clutch replacement, i couldnt go through, the screws were kinda rusty and unwilling to unscrew. I applied WD-40 and it wouldnt turn, the screw would just "tear-off" in the center. Any ideas? @doorslammer: where are you in australia? im currently in Kuwait just came back from Australia, and heading there once again in mid-Feb, I study there in Brisbane , QLD.
  9. thanks for that reply, im digging in and ill start the learning process. I hope one of you guys is still here cuz ill be need help adjusting the cluth, i didnt understand any of the terminology involved. I just placed an order for a clymer over at clymer.com i just hope i get it soon. Thanks again.
  10. hehe actually they told me to mix oil to the first line on the Yamalube with a 25 drum full of gas. So yeah either i mixed too much or they're wrong. Anyhow ill live with the smoking part. I just bought a new Barnett clutch kit, a friend recommended them over the original yamaha clutch kit. How good are they, oh and how hard is setting them up without a clymer? The mechanic told me to put them in oil Yamalube or any for half an hour before installing them, and he said not to use the heavy duty, instead use all six of the normal springs. any comments?
  11. Yeah my friends said the same thing, now i just need the Skin Industries Freeride skin, a new clutch and ill be good to go  . oh i have another question, my shifting handle whatever its called is a bit stronger or harder than usual. It doesnt shift as smooth as others, specially when i want to put it in neutral. When im running and i want to stop i cant shift it to neutral, i have to turn it of on first gear then put it on neutral. Is that because of the clutch kit, and doest hurt if i switch it of on 1st while running? thanks again
  12. hey guys, i just emptied out the gas inside the shee, i mixed 16 oz of yamalube and 15 liters of gas. I read somewhere on the forums that this should be a 32:1 mix. I ran it and it still smokes a lot, it only smokes when im on neutral, but when im running i dont see smoke. I tried to revv just so the if the extra oil would burn out, but it smokes never ending.. any ideas?
  13. Hey guys, im looking for a copy of clymer manual for a yamaha banshee 2003. If any one has a spare one and doesnt mind shipping internationally please PM. Ill be glad to pay half the price of the shipping or if it is cheap ill pay the whole thing. Just PM me with an estimate quote of the price. Thanks
